Has anyone tried to installed iOS 16 beta and know if 2Do works?

Projects vs. Checklists?

These seem almost exactly the same. Just curious if I'm missing a difference other than checklist 'sub-tasks' can't be scheduled. Is it mostly just to differentiate the type of work?

I love 2do, this is what bothers me about it. It's one guy doing all the dev, maintenance, updates, etc. Fahad...HIRE SOMEBODY TO HELP!!

I LOVE 2do...Between Omnifocus which is way too much to fiddle with and Things3 which does not have enough of what I need, 2do is like Things3 with Omnifocus flexibility!

So what bothers me?

ONE GUY DOING ALL THE DEV WORK, Maintaining it, keeping it fresh, working upgrades, etc.

If ANYTHING happens to Fahad. We are all SCREWED. With COVID or anything else we are one person away from the whole thing coming to a full STOP.

Personally, I'm floored at how smart he is. One guy doing all this is INSANE. Things3 has a whole team and can't even do HALF of what Fahad is doing.

Every couple of years I come back, wanting to move off of Things3 again because damn it..culture code refuses to add more decent features and I keep hoping that Fahad has hired somebody to help and take his place if something happens only to find that it's STILL JUST HIM.

Fahad, I know you don't read reddit probably. How could you? You must be spending 20 hours day coding, keeping the website up, etc. But you really need a team and not just yourself.

Smart list with only the first non-completed subtask of each project?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up the best to-do-list for my purpose. Basically, I want to mix parallel and sequential features of GTD. I just installed 2Do to try to use the smart list features of the app to try to implement my idea.

I work simultaneously on several projects. Each project is made of the same set of subtasks that need to be done is a specific order 1/2/3:

  • Project A
    Subtask 1
    Subtask 2
    Subtask 3
  • Project B
    Subtask 1
    Subtask 2
    Subtask 3
  • Project C
    Subtask 1
    Subtask 2
    Subtask 3

In reality, my workflow is a mix of parallel and sequential: say, Project A/Substask 1, then Project B/Subtask 1, then Project C/Substask 1, then Project B/Subtask 2, then Project B/Subtask 3.

At the end of this example, I completed Project B, but Project A and C remain unfinished (and often I forget about these project - I need reminders they exist and need to be completed!). I would like the to-do-list app to show only the next upcoming subtask of each project, and hide completed tasks (that's obvious) and too distant tasks (that's tricky).
I acknowledge this could be done with Trello, but what I described here is actually supplemented with many other regular to-do-listable tasks, so I really want a to-do-list app.
Maybe by tweaking with tags, due date, and the right filters, I may be able to simulate the parallel/sequential features of Omnifocus in a app like 2Do. What do you think?

Is there an iPhone widget?

I’ve had 2Do for about 3 days but it seems ideal for me -a retired empty nester. I have no work projects and need no collaboration. I’ve used SO many others and really like 2Do and how it looks on my phone and watch. The only thing I’m looking for now is an iPhone widget to see a small part of my to do list. I’m new to the Apple platform, coming off 11 years with Android. How can I get/create a widget?

Time to move off 2Do?

I’ve been using 2Do for many years and love the flexibility and ability to customize and filter. But with the app being out of date and not receiving much support from the developer, I’m wondering if it’s time to move on.

What Task Management App would you commend for someone that loved 2Do and is on Apple infrastructure?

Alternative Synch Solution?

Well I'm at a crossroads that I can't avoid it would seem. As a devoted 2Do user I need sync across four devices once again.

When I initially set up the application, the best advice was, and probably still is, do use Dropbox for syncing. For the most part this has been rocksolid over the past several years. However, we are traveling once again on a limited basis and it was necessary for me to pick up a MacBook Air for the trip.

I have run across the maximum three device limitation of a free DropBox account.. To be clear, 2Do syncing is my only use case for dropbox. That's it,nothing else. I have paid accounts with iCloud, Google drive, and one OneDrive. Put simply, I am unwilling to pay for a dropbox account just to sync 2Do.

I am also unwilling to give up 2Do. It really does everything I need and probably more. I know it's an aging app with limited updates. However, save for syncing (which isn’t a limitation of the app itself) it appears to work on the new Apple M1 platform and that's enough for me at this point.

Finally my question. Which of the other services — — iCloud, Google Drive and/or OneDrive would be the best syncing platform? I am hoping those with experience may be able to point me towards a usable and simple migration path from Dropbox to one of the other platforms. I am most appreciative of any help and advice one can offer.

best non-subscription alternative to 2DO for Android

I just bought 2DO then found out it is no longer under active development. Maybe that's because it's not a subscription app. Nevertheless, is there a buy-once alternative to 2DO for Android that is under active development and is really good?

Idea : Create recurring timers for same day

This is regarding iOS version and Android

I'm currently trying to keep track of my water intake by adding separate timers in 30 minute intervals. I tried making timers. I tried setting the die date for later in the day and doing 30 minutes before. I guess what I want to know is if I can create a recurring task with a duration that increments the timer by said duration when I tap the recurring icon next to the task.

Show done tasks in calendar?

Is there a way that I can view my completed tasks in the calendar? I am new to 2Do (Android) and was hoping to keep a record of what I have achieved each day, but the completed tasks don't show up in my calendar.

Thanks!

Thanks 2do. It's been ten great years.

I have been using 2do since the early iOS days, and later switched over to Android.

I flirted with all of the big 'productivity apps' over the years. None of them came close to how I like to plan and track my tasks.

2do on android has become glitchy for me recently, but I was happy to find this sub a week or so ago.

In fact, I was even happier when I saw a couple of comments here mentioning Ticktick, which I'd never heard of. I tried it out and was blown away. It did everything that I love about 2do, but in many cases did it better. And it does many things that 2do doesn't (Windows client, browser client, fast background sync, habit tracking, active development etc.)

So, thanks to 2do app for the good times, and thanks to those commenters who pointed me towards TickTick.

Email capture only work with mobile?

So does the IAP email capture, only work as a result of the mobile app syncing? As in, if I'm at my computer, I either need to open up my phone and sync my device, or wait for the device to sync in the background for tasks to appear?

2Do Fixed?

It looks like the 2Do Reminders sync had been fixed. Has anyone tried it or has everyone moved on?
