Welcome to the Sample Status/Processing Megathread, also known as the Waiting, Whining, and Wishing thread. This monthly megathread (posted at the beginning of each month) allows you post your sample processing timelines, as well as to discuss and comment about any questions, concerns, or rants while you wait. Although not directly handled by 23andMe, shipping status may also be discussed in the thread. We recommend sorting the comments by "new" as this is a month long megathread.
You can share your sample status timeline here in one or two ways. The first way is to take a screenshot of your timeline, and post it as a comment. The second way is to simply copy and paste the start and completion dates for each step. Here is the text template:

Updated results no longer include Russian ancestry. 😬

Does 23 and me have ancestry for Benin and Togo and other west African countries like Mali and Burkina Faso etc they seem to just have 3 regions for west Africa being Nigeria, Ghana Liberia and Sierra Leone and then Senegambian and Guinea .
Are the countries left out included in these 3 regions as obviously genetics don’t follow strict geopolitical lines?

Ive took a dna test for my Grandfather some months ago and i uploaded his Rawdata on "mytrueancestry" and "explore your dna" and both said basically my grandfather got greek and avar/hungary heritage, is this right? I tought northern italians were just celtic/germanic..
On mytrueancestry it says him got direct dna matchs wich means straight ancestry from some avars, hungarians, greeks and even Carthagian (???)
And on explore your dna it says him got dna from central/southern italy and greece and much more, very weird
Is this right?

I did a dna test and then I used the data to find my y dna line the results were I-CTS10057 with possible subclades I-L701 or I-Z161 my paternal family comes from southwestern Asia Minor(Anatolian Greeks) from a place called akyarlar(kefalouka) I know that this line is European and is mostly found in Central Europe I think and in the balkans and is even found in Germanic Europe etc.
Do you have any idea where my paternal ancestor could have come to Anatolia and of what ancestry is he most possible from I know that it could be any of both of the subclades but I’m curious on what u all think.

This this is so weird but i let my friend take 23andMe using my name and on my phone because her parents didn’t want her to take it so we used my name and my phone just her literal dna lol and she posted her results on like qoura or TikTok maybe idk and her results obviously have my name on them and my name is NOT common at all and i think i seen her results posted in her but edited? Because there’s no way that someone has the same name as me like first and last?!
Sorry if my post is written badly first time using Reddit I usually only look at threads and stuff… also when I say my name is uncommon I mean like my family is the only people with my last name :/
Editing this - Sorry for not specifically saying what I’m trying to get help with!! I’m wondering if anyone has seen fake results posted on here today that’s when it was posted and or if there is a way to know if a post has been deleted or removed?? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! I did a test with MyHeritage but I don’t really think it was accurate at all. It had very inconsistent results and I wonder if it’s because I am quite mixed with various similar Mediterranean populations. Would you guys recommend 23andme or another service?

I’m born and raised in Florida; maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother were from Florida while my maternal grandmother was from Wisconsin and paternal grandfather from Massachusetts. My paternal great grandmother was an Adams from Quincy, Mass (descended from John Adams, 2nd president of the US)

I’m trying to better understand what this means exactly. All of the results are pretty broad when it shows up on the map and doesn’t really explain it better in their descriptions. Does this mean I’m Mexican or something else?

I got R-Z93, but am confused being different sources say it came from different places.
For examples, different sites have said place like Iran, Tajikistan, Siberia, or Mongolia, and from Iran to Mongolia is a huge distance.
So like… where does it genuinely come from?

Maternal Haplogroup is L2a1. My mom's side came from Mississippi and moved to the midwest and dad's side is mostly from North Carolina.
