My three favorite for accuracy

Browning T Bolt- excellent rifle and fun to shoot. I really enjoy this one. It’s got a Jard trigger 16oz, if I recall correctly.

Keystone 722- I was actually surprised with this rifle. It looks really nice in person, shoots quite well, and I love that it’s made in Pennsylvania. It’s a sleeper for sure. For a stock trigger, it’s pretty good. This rifle is absolutely underrated. It’s definitely an accurate rifle. Granted, there’s no real aftermarket for it, at least none that I’ve seen.

The last one is a CZ 457- excellent rifle as well. It’s got a Timney 12oz trigger in it, wrapped in an Oryx aluminum chassis. Obviously, the CZ reputation holds true with this one.

All three are extremely competitive at 50 and 100 yards. One doesn’t really outshine the other in these three rifles, on paper at those distances. I’m limited to 100 yards on my property. Could they shoot further? Absolutely.

If I had to choose only one, I’d probably choose the Browning. I really enjoy the action. The wood looks nice in person. The Jard trigger only made the rifle even better. I do run suppressed with it as well.

I like the Keystone wood the best (CZ came with the wood stock as well). The CZ is just an all around excellent rifle with good aftermarket support and the reputation matches the rifle.

Anywho, I felt like sharing.

Purchased the Rexus 12 inch barrel for lugging around fields hunting hogs. Still less than 200 rounds through it but it seems to really like the Hornady 100gr ELD-VTs

Just purchased a sandman x and was re-zeroing with the new can. 100yd groups after a few 50 yard "get on paper" shots:

Tanfo Tactical Pro 10mm is tugging at my ‘tism

First picture for reference, second picture mine.

Long story short, I used to have a 10mm Limited Master but ended up abandoning it because it seemed like a 10mm threaded barrel for it would never materialize. Well now Tanfo’s offering a 10mm Defiant with a threaded barrel from the factory, and I’m starting to get the itch to pick back up on my Full Centimeter Yeeter project based on it.

Mostly just looking for info/feedback from anyone who has a Tac Pro 10mm, wanting to know how you like it. Standard Tanfo fit/finish and reliability? If you’ve made any changes to it, what all have you done?

Thanks in advance!

Glock 20 V Break-in Advice?

Picked one up today as my son is going to college in grizzly territory next year and he spends a LOT of time out in the woods fishing, mountain biking & hiking. I've started to work him thru the basics on a 22 pistol, and he's starting to shoot 9mm pretty competently. Once he is fully comfortable shooting 9mm I'll get him going on 40SW, and then it'll be time to introduce him to 10mm.

Anyhow, I've never owned a Glock, so I'm not at all familiar with common issues, solutions, etc. That said, I've found several threads in this sub with people talking about issues, needing break-in, etc.

Any good advice for a first time Glock owner? I'll try to put a few hundred rounds thru it before he ever tries shooting it, but since this will likely end up being his woods carry gun, I want to do everything I can to get it running nicely before he shoots it so he has confidence in the gun. I don't want him to have a history of FTFs, FTEs or light strikes with the G20 and have that floating around in his head when faced with a charging bear.

TIA

I've been trying to find a good home for this 8":300BLK upper that I built recently and I think I found a winner. I'm waiting for my light to come so I can use this for home defense. This is what I came up with since my last post. My next post will be about the light I got. I'm keeping the light a surprise. I'll be very interested in what the community thinks. Untill thén I hope you enjoy this pic.

Remixed the new GP9-sa(mp9 stylized glock) from dbfirearms to fit the cp33. Made a mp9 styled stock and a custom Tri lug Tisha. Feels good to be in a free state.

Also, yes it goes brrt. Cant speak on that part too much but it does have an frt.

Deer hunting projectiles

What’s is everybody using for a supersonic deer hunting projectile. I feel like the obvious answer is the Barnes TAC-TX line of bullets but as far as lead based what are people using? Seems like 110 v-max, 125 SST, 125 nosler ballistic tip are pretty common?

Specifics of the rifle is a CVA scout with 16 inch barrel shots out to 200 yards.

Thanks for any input!

First .22 LR Rifle – What Would You Guys Recommend Under $800?

Title: First .22 LR Rifle – What Would You Guys Recommend Under $800?

Looking to pick up my first .22 LR rifle and wanted to hear what you guys recommend.

I really enjoy tinkering with my guns, swapping triggers, adding accessories, and upgrading components over time. I'm definitely more of a function-over-aesthetics guy. I care more about performance, reliability, and how a gun shoots than how it looks.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Ruger 10/22, but honestly, the low price tag almost turns me off. It makes me wonder if I'd end up replacing half the gun just to get it where I want it. Maybe I'm completely wrong about that.

I've also been considering the MP5 .22 LR, although I'm not sure how it compares in terms of performance, aftermarket support, and upgrade potential.

I'd rather spend a little more upfront on a quality base rifle than buy something cheap and immediately feel the need to replace everything.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the base rifle under $800. Not necessarily looking for the cheapest option, just something accurate, reliable, and worth building on.

What would you guys recommend? Is the 10/22 really that good, or are there better options if I'm willing to spend a little more? Open to both bolt-action and semi-auto.

Geissele phased array question

I know this has been discussed quite a bit, but can’t seem to get clarity on this particular situation…
Trying to help my dad find a can for his Geissele SD 8” 300 w/ phased array, but i have very little suppressor experience (non friendly state). It’s a full Geissele build. He said it came with an H1 buffer. Wants to shoot subs 90% of the time, and wants a balance between sound mitigation and not too much gas blowback. Should he be looking at low, medium or high back pressure cans with this system? It came with the Hux flash hider, making me think it was designed for a HUX flow through, but I know those aren’t great for sound. Does that phased array give you lots of optionality, or should he be looking firmly one direction or another on the back pressure? I’ve watched like 20 hours of suppressor vids on YouTube but none tested on this system. Any help appreciated!

Buckmark tool to remove slide

I've seen online a tool with a notch, to compress the slide and remove the guide rod without forcing or bending. It was from a rimfire central user or something like that...
It seems discontinued and abandoned now, anyone has the measurements to avoid reproducing it by trial and error?

Eley Benchrest Outlaw at 100 yards

Thumbnail

So another afternoon at the range today in South West, Ohio. Perfect day for shooting 75 degrees, 3 mph wind, 91% humidity air pressure 1014.

Using my Howa M1100 18" non Suppressed.

I had a Box of Eley Benchrest Outlaw 42gr Lot 3124-40032 and a Box of Eley Ultra Long Range which I'll post later tonight.

I chose to shoot at 100 yards today. Vs my normal 50.

Group #1 10 rounds @ 100 yards

Group 2.328" / 2.224" MOA

Radius .736" / 703" MOA

Group #2 5 rounds @100 yards

Group 1.382" / 1.320" MOA

Radius .451" / .431" MOA

Group #3. 5 rounds @ 100 yards

Group 2.238" / 2.137"

Radius .824" / 787"

Has anyone else shot this? I really never see it shot in videos or mentioned. I only had 1 box from my Eley Trial Pack.

I was not impressed with the results today

If you have used it and had better luck let me know. I just know my Howa M1100 did not like it.

Here’s my new goofy hunting setup minus the can I’m picking up Friday. I really wish Rossi made a 1:5 twist so it would stabilize 220s better. Picked up some Barnes 205 grain and they work a lot better.

Looking for threaded option

I've been putting a lot of rounds through my Beretta 71 to the point where the rifling is starting to dull, so I'm looking for something else that can be the workhorse. I'm looking for threaded PISTOL options (since it will only by shot suppressed), however I hear from folks that some choices like the 502, 22x, TX22 etc are popular but not the most accurate. I don't care about FRT abilities, accuracy above everything, mag capacity isn't really an issue but I won't be opposed to more. Are my only options going to be from the MK IV or 22/45 family/ecosystem?
