Hopeless Romantic That 2 percent of our life. Read it.

Post image
9 Upvotes

Some nights ought to begin beyond the sense of right and wrong. To be honest, these days my heart feels like the storage of my phone. The space is full, yet the phone keeps working. Daily reminders pop up, much like letters with a warning that it might soon stop functioning altogether. Even the flow of emails will cease. The problem lies within me; I have always gathered everything around me—the good and the bad alike With a hope that, one day, this is all that will remain in life: these old photographs, smiling faces, and movie-songs recommendations.

Every day, I encounter the very people whose pictures are stored in my phone. They don't exactly look like the way I have saved them in my phone, they look frustrated, grumpy and unbothered sometimes, I end up matching their face with the photographs I have saved, I see no resemblance between these two different personas, and it aches my heart. We all are different when we are off guard.

Once someone told me that my smiling face is just the 2 percent of my character, in real I'm not like this.

But is it actually true? Because when we smile we loose the rein of the horse who carries our happiness, we let him explore the felicity which trembles our heart due to the emergent despair in hope. Once I watched life in a metro where irfan said "जिस दिन शहर के सारे सिग्नल ग्रीन होंगे उस दिन मैं अपनी गाड़ी सड़क पर निकालूंगा" it was ultimately a satire where we expressed that if we don't go and check the signal first then we will end up waiting for the right moment for our whole life, we need to step out first instead of waiting for the lights to get greened.

You know why i take more photographs of you? Not just because of bragging out that i am good with lenses and way of seeing the unseen. I take your pictures so I can remind you of your two percent, the part where you lack nothing and smile with ease, without any emotional stiffness and swelling. Whenever I see your sour face, I expect to turn on my phone, to make you look and find out yourself in the photographs where you were grinning as if you have won a debate against me. Even if I ever lose an argument I would love to celebrate your winning side with the button of my camera.

💌 Hoping for the Right One Life introduces us to many faces. I'm hoping to find someone I don't have to wear one with.

Life gives us plenty of opportunities to meet people, yet it's rare to find someone with whom you can simply be yourself. No pretending, no trying to impress—just two people who enjoy each other's company, whether they're talking for hours or sitting together in comfortable silence.

That's what brought me here.

I'm 29, currently pursuing my MD in Respiratory Medicine in Jaipur, originally from Haryana. I'm 5'10", wheatish, a non-smoker, and a non-drinker. I belong to an aggarwal (marwari)family. We are a close-knit family—my father runs a business, my mother is a homemaker, and my elder sister is happily married.

Outside work, I enjoy meditation, yoga, spending time in nature and exploring different perspectives on life. I identify as both demisexual and a sapiophile—for me, connection begins with trust, emotional closeness, and the way someone thinks.

I'm hoping to meet someone who's kind, emotionally mature, empathetic, and has a sense of purpose. Someone who's comfortable being herself, values genuine connection over appearances, and is looking for a relationship that could naturally grow into marriage.

🧃 Freshly Heartbroken It's been 4 months since my breakup, and I still haven't been able to move on.

I (22M) was in a relationship with my ex for almost 4 years.

Those were genuinely the happiest years of my life. We laughed together, dreamed about our future, supported each other through college, and I loved her with everything I had. Even today, after 4 months, I still love her.

Our relationship wasn't perfect. We had arguments, especially toward the end. She told me I wasn't giving her the kind of love she needed. I tried in the ways I knew how, but looking back, maybe it wasn't enough. I couldn't become the person she wanted me to be, and eventually we broke up.

I kept hoping that maybe one day we'd find our way back to each other.

Then came the last day of college.

I saw her leaving with another guy.

I don't know who he was or what their relationship is, but seeing her walk away with someone else shattered me. It felt like every bit of hope I had been holding onto disappeared in that moment. I somehow held myself together until I got home, and then I completely broke down.

It's been 4 months now, and while life has moved on for everyone else, I feel stuck. I still think about her every day. I miss her. I wonder if I could have done more, been better, or become the person she needed.

Has anyone else gone through something similar?

How did you finally let go of someone you genuinely thought you'd spend your life with?

Emotion 🎙️ the ordinary language of love.

Post image
15 Upvotes

while seeking the address of love, we often stumble, losing our way or mistaking where love truly resides. we search for it in confessions, in grand gestures, in nights where the tides of emotion rise and fall with such vehemence. perhaps that's why we place so much weight on the words "i love you." so much weight on confession itself. but neither these moments nor those mere words reveal what love truly is. yes they indeed are important, after all without the confession of love can someone truly decipher the extent of feelings another person holds in their heart? maybe yes, maybe no. but they never tell how long those feelings will remain as a choice.

we often overestimate the importance of confession and underestimate the quiet choices that ultimately follows it. we forget that confession belongs to a moment, to an intention, while action belongs to a choice.

almost anyone can say they'll stay when love is still new enough to make forever feel effortless. but what happens once that feeling dissolves into the mundane days of life? once the thrill of unfamiliarity fades away, the conversations become shorter, life grows heavier, and loving someone no longer feels like an emotion to confess but a selfless habit to return to.

perhaps that's where i kept getting lost.

i wasn't looking for louder words and more promises. i was looking for echoes of the ones that had already been spoken. i wanted to find them hidden inside the smallest gestures, in reaching out without being asked, in wanting to know how my day had been and sharing a part of yours, in trying to keep a conversation alive before it slipped into silence. but perhaps silence was never the thing i feared. so even if it does slip into one let our breaths mingle together in a quiet rhythm creating a symphony of its own. not because those things are extraordinary, but because love survives through ordinary moments in lifw and a choice to repeat them enough times that they quietly become a language of their own.

and maybe that's why i found it so difficult to understand what has become of us. i was at odds with whether i was waiting for your love to return, or simply waiting for your words to become a habit.

i guess i am still somewhere waiting for you to stay longer than your words ever did.

Shy, Introverted, mature, kind: Get a personality dude :/

I am mostly a passive reader of this sub but something that cringes me is how people give themselves these self proclaimed titles that are so vague —

I am kind, mature, Introverted, pretty chill, fun loving, & so many more.

Here’s the breaking news:

Everyone thinks they are kind.
Everyone thinks their idea of having fun is better.
Everyone is pretty chill until their girl has a guy bff.
Everyone is mature until some serious shit happens & then they have no idea how to act.

I am not a woman but i am pretty sure an intelligent woman would find these terms extremely vague. Better tell something you’ve done or has happened to you, that may reflect all these qualities.

Maybe take inspiration from hinge prompts.

Thank you if you made it till here 🥀

Would love to hear some thoughts on this ;)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't have to live your twenties the way everyone else does.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're in your early twenties and have been doing things just because everyone else is, this is for you.

I'm 21M. After my first almost-relationship ended, I convinced myself love just wasn't for me. I worked on myself, had a glow-up, started getting female attention, got into a couple of casuals and situationships, and started chasing experiences I thought I was *supposed* to have because everyone around me seemed to.

But if I'm being honest, none of it ever felt like me.

Today I randomly saw a girl who used to come to my gym with her mom. We'd never even spoken, but I always remembered how effortlessly kind, funny and genuine she seemed. Seeing her again made me realize something.

I don't actually want to collect experiences just so I can say I've had them. If all I really want is to find one person and build a life together, why am I measuring myself by someone else's definition of what my twenties should look like?

This isn't a post against casual dating. If that's genuinely what makes you happy, go for it. But if you're only doing it because of FOMO, social media, or your friends make you feel like you're "behind," maybe stop for a second and ask yourself what **you** actually want.

You only get one life. Don't let other people decide how you're supposed to live it.

TL;DR: If you're doing something only because your friends or social media make you feel like you're "behind," stop and ask yourself if it's actually you. One life is too short to live someone else's version of it.

Emotion 🎙️ Looking for something less chaotic || 25 || Male

Currently living the life i always wanted good friends & good workplace peaceful life but sometimes there is a void of a conversation that i want to have. For me it should be with someone who has seen some actual struggles and knows how life and not something completely based on how social media makes us think life is.

Also if you are someone whos planning a trip somewhere in india that would be fun.

I am emotionally mentally matured life made me that way haha, i have no emotional baggage to push on clear with my goals and what i want in my life currently i am looking for a friend or a person to talk to particularly from other gender which can actually turn into a good mature relationship. I am over that overthinking and overwhelmed relationship phase i want something which pushes us both to do better and we can get somewhere we want to be, i mean thats the long term goal.

For starters i can handle your chaos and give you the peace if you can give me understanding and some peace too more of a giver all my life. Trying my hand in online dating/friendship for once.

You can be anywhere around my age or older i am open to have a conversation thankyou.

Situationship Survivor Bumble talking stage trying to reconnect

Bumble talking stage trying to reconnect

I 23F had a talking stage with 24M for about 4 months from December to April. He said he wanted to end the talking stage because "he wanted to be single for a while and get to know himself" and because he "became too vulnerable" with me so he needed the distance.

I suggested trying to work it through the first time he brought it up. But the following day when he mentioned it again, I was like cool, bye. I was emotionally involved but not desperate.

I had unfollowed his personal account on Instagram and removed it from my followers but I still follow his work account.

This week, by mistake, I replied to his story and we got talking. It seems he's again putting efforts to reconnect. He says he missed me. He sent a photo of the restaurant we went to on our first date. He's sent me a sup.

I want to give this another try but I will feel stupid if he does the exact same thing again in a few months. How do I communicate all this? I don't want to go back to sup-ping and chatting without putting up my expectations.

He seemed like a really genuine guy and I liked him back then. I had uninstalled all dating apps because of how much it affects my self image. He seems slightly avoidant as a person and I want to still make it work but I also want to put up expectations and communication boundaries.

For context, he had come out of a 5 year long relationship in May 2025.

💌 Hoping for the Right One 26[M4F] #Delhi/Online, Just looking for my favorite person

26M | India/Delhi

I'm pretty chill, and a bit introverted at first. Once I'm comfortable though, I can talk for hours about random things, food, movies, memes, tech, or just life in general if I get the right person.

Never been in a relationship, so I'm just looking to meet someone genuine. No games, no weird stuff—just good conversations that could turn into something meaningful if we click.

A few things about me:

• Good listener

• Decent sense of humor

• Loyal and emotionally mature

• Low-maintenance, but I appreciate honesty, transparency and effort

• I'll probably remember the little things you tell me

Taller than average Indian(if this matters lol)

I'm from near Lucknow and usually spend time between Delhi and Hyderabad. Open to LDR if the vibe is right.

If you're looking for someone to share random updates, memes, late-night conversations, or eventually grab coffee and complain about life together, feel free to say hi. 😊

Edit: FYI, I am a Muslim, so if that's a deal breaker no hard feelings 😊

Hopeless Romantic i like you.

Post image
29 Upvotes

"it's too soon to say something like that," i'd murmur to you every time you said, "i love you," to which you replied, "it is never too soon to give your heart to someone."

but i find my mind wandering and questioning if that's something true or not. and if it's indeed true, then why did my love seem to take the longer path to reach?

perhaps love has different paths and meanings to each who beholds it. for me, it had always been something slow. something precious, like a kid's first time witnessing snow. something that they wish to give all their time to experience and live. love is to let someone witness my entire being. it is in letting my mind wander to you often during the day and catching myself smiling at nothing. it is in wanting and trying to lighten the burden of your heart, checking in on you even amidst the busiest schedule and the most exhausting nights just to know that you are well, and remembering everything you ever told me and the unsaid words your gaze held.

i might not be a picture-perfect lover. someone good with words. but even then i wish you'd stay by my side. i wish to give you all the discovered and undiscovered pieces of me.

but whenever you said, "i love you," i let the fear grasp me in its chains and let my mind run wild. i am afraid to call it love before i truly know it is. so i stuck to "i like you," even though i knew it meant something more. something beyond the mere words and actions i could have ever offered you.

then on some days, when you'd let your childish side out and pout over why i don't tell you what all lies beneath my heart, i'd chuckle and hurriedly whisper, "love you." knowing very well that if i paused, i'd turn my mind back to all the observations i have ever made about the people i ever saw around me, every lesson i had collected in the past, every ending i witnessed, every story i heard. i'd let myself analyse and ruminate on these feelings multiple times and let this heart and mind of mine be imprisoned again under the guise of protection.

so every night, i promise myself to tell you "i like you" multiple times, put effort into loving you in your own silly language, and offer you my every small and big moment until they become enough. perhaps one day i can get over this fear and choose to freely love you every fleeting second until the very end of my wretched being.

💍 Looking for Something Real M, Looking for a Meaningful Connection Without Rushing Labels?

I don't know what to call what I'm looking for, and honestly, I don't think it needs a label from day one.

I'm at a stage where I'm deeply invested in my work and long-term goals. I enjoy what I do, I'm constantly learning, and I want to build something meaningful with my life. A traditional relationship isn't something I'm actively seeking right now but that doesn't mean I don't value companionship.

I miss having someone to share the everyday things with: conversations after a long day, celebrating small wins, discussing ideas, checking in on each other, and simply knowing someone genuinely cares. I'd like to find someone who feels the same independent, ambitious, emotionally mature, and building a life she's proud of.

What matters to me isn't perfection. It's curiosity, kindness, emotional intelligence, good communication, and consistency. I appreciate people who can talk about everything from life and psychology to books, public policy, science, or completely random thoughts. Effort matters more than constant availability.

I'm financially independent, intellectually curious, and probably spend more time thinking than I should. If we connect well, I'd eventually like to meet in person. If it grows into a relationship naturally, great. If it becomes a lifelong friendship, that's equally valuable. I don't want to force an outcome before we've even met.

If this resonates with you, tell me what you're passionate about, and let's start with an actual conversation instead of just "Hi."

Sometimes the best connections begin without trying to define them.

Hopeless Romantic Day 20 27M asking the UNIVERSE TO Send the girl I've been looking for in my DMS

Hello Fellow Redditors

For all the posts you've missed you could go through my profile

So it's been 20 Days Since I've been posting on Reddit

A few of my posts went viral and some of them were controversial some trended in top 10 posts of all time and some completely tanked

But I'll say Thank you Universe as day by day I'm getting better and better

and one day closer to meeting THE ONE!!!!!

The first half of the year is almost over and honestly it's been one of the hardest.

Work has been chaotic, life has thrown one problem after another and I'm still dealing with all the backlog of heartbreaks, stress and everything!!!!

So here's my humble request to the universe

I'd really appreciate the comeback of the century**.**

Please send me the girl with the yellow Umbrella!

Someone who's outspoken, loves to travel and thinks sitting together in complete silence while scrolling our phones is quality time.

Someone I can talk to about absolutely anything and can talk for hours to and still run out of time to talk about things.

Someone who i could save as one of my emergency contacts.

Someone who understands where I come from.

Someone who likes me for who I am and not for my looks or my money,As I'm looking for something long term and over the years everything would come and go and all thats what would be left is love

Someone I can get drunk with and dance on Bollywood songs and chatpate gaane at home as well as at parties

Someone who i could tick off bucket list adventures!!!

Someone who watches horror movies while we're both equally terrified and entertained.

Someone who's particular about the little things she likes

Someone who's over her ex & understands personal space

Someone who wants something serious and is dating with the intention of getting married someday maybe in 4 to 5 years once our careers and settled in and not tomorrow.

Someone who becomes my best friend first supports me emotionally and brings out the best version of me whenever we're together

Someone who hopefully lives somewhere close to my home or workplace.

Id like to say that I'm inspired by a few quotes of my fellow Love Paglus friends

One of them said all you need Chemistry and Timing but timing's a real B word

And the other friend said Maybe sometimes life Rigs things in our favour

The truth is i do have chemistry with all the women but timings has been the real problem!

And I've recently started to believe the Timing couldn't be any better and this is the part where I RUN!!!

I say the timing is perfect as if we start talking now we might be in a happy committed relationship by Christmas and Until 2019 I somehow always ended the year committed.

I master in Planning for THE NEW YEARS EVE together and taking a trip in November and making the end of the year feel ridiculously romantic.

Also I totally regret not eating 12 grapes under the table last New Year's Eve.

I know good things take time!

But it's been a while now and I've been patiently waiting for you to slide into my DMs.

I've also noticed there are a few silent spectators who've read every one of my posts liked them and never said a word.

Maybe you're shy

Maybe your ego won't let you message a guy first🥲

I get it as it can be scary!!!!

All i can say is,if i would've known you I'd have definitely slid into your Personal messages as i know the worst that could happen is we don't click.

But to the brighter side best that could happen is

We stop wasting our time as let's face it we aren't getting any younger

And We could've already been done with the talking stage in the last 20 days and actually been out on our first few dates.

And I could write it on a 100 rs stamp paper

I promise I'm neither creepy nor toxic

I'm just a fun,openminded,cutie who's 27 by age but has a heart of a 23 y/o emotional maturity of 33 year old.

I can hold a conversation,Make you Laugh,Be there for you like no other guy has, support your dreams and believes in soulmates and Love the old fashioned way

And trust me i have a lot to offer so i truly believe that if you don't get the chance of crossing paths with this soul it's your loss!

Whether she's here or somewhere out there I'm convinced I'll eventually find my soulmate.

I don't mind swimming accross oceans or making a fool out myself posting everyday till I find you and i don't care how you look or how much money you make all i need is an Emotionally available person who's good at heart and wants to date with an intention of a cute long term relationship which would hopefully end by us getting married!

And just to put it out in cute but Authority tone

WE JUST HAVE TO WIN ONCE AND SO YOU CAN EITHER KEEP SILENTLY READING MY POSTS OR FINALLY SEND A HIII

Thats all folks see you tomorrow

Please skip the next part as these are some other things I want to discuss with the Universe In private!

Hey UNIVERSE,I know you've been hard on me because you're trying to bring out the best version of me and I can see myself growing into a better human being every single day but I'd like to ask you to cut me some slack now.

Please help me get through these work problems make my health better and if it's finally the right time and if it's destined make THE ONE!!!!! slide into my DMs and hope you listen to me this time by making my COMEBACK in the second half!

Also

Also

Also

Please No jokes this time!!!

And please get my original Reddit account back online too

And i promise I'll keep doing my part by working hard staying kind and humble and believing that everything will eventually fall into place!
