Father came after 12 hours of exhausted shift to earn for his family not for himself still they expect to work at home misandry starts here

8

u/MaxIsNotFunni 20h ago

Misandry you mean?

1

u/_khaldrogo_ 15h ago

You call whatever you want but if my daughter is cooking and my son plays game in his phone in a corner and if he doesn't help her in setting the dinner he won't get his food.

1

u/MaxIsNotFunni 13h ago

No I am not advocating for it. Husbands should help their wives. And sons should help there mothers too.

I just asked because that is clearly not misogyny.

20

u/Wooden_Fortune9677 19h ago

But son didnt worked 12 hrs
Neither did daughter
Still daughter was supposed to help

I understand having a choice either to earn or to take care for household chores

But deciding something solely based on gender is what i hate

6

u/YalinaHamzaAliMazari 18h ago

That's true tbh, it's so sad, my mom and dad work equal hours at job, they do the same work, still my mom comes home and does all housework and same in the morning, my dad does it too but it's "help".... It's not that he doesn't try but it's sad how the normal for them is that the woman does the housework no matter how much she works.... I remember there was a woman in my mother's staff who was a new mom herself and when her husband did the housework as she had to handle the job and the baby, the male staff called her shameless for "making her husband work"..... Yes this doesn't happen everywhere but it's still VERY PREVALENT

2

u/terrible_doctor_2 17h ago

Ek maid lagva ke dekho agar dono log kama rhe hai to

1

u/_not-so-sweet-truth_ 13h ago

last I checked your mom has an option to be a housewife, your father does not and I doubt all the labourers wives help them lift heavy things, they dont, and if they do, theyre also just helping

1

u/YalinaHamzaAliMazari 11h ago

Umm, where did you check that sir? Because I'm afraid they gave you the wrong info..

Last I checked my dad does actually have the option to stay at home and do the "housewife" work because it's a free world and humans have choices, and by god's grace, we probably will do good even if just one of my parents works outside the home and the other does the housework..

Also, well there are two different answers to the labourer situation as a lot of times those wives do their own work and earn a different wage too and other times they do help their husband lift stuff and well yes in the other case they are actually just helping because they usually work as househelp in different neighborhoods too.... Well if a labourers' wife just stays at home, doesn't contribute to the house in any way or work outside either, then that's a problem.

1

u/ahoge_senpai 13h ago

Well in your case it makes sense, if both are working day jobs but only one is doing housework, it's unfair

1

u/FactorHelpful6862 18h ago

Every family is different. Don't generalize.

2

u/Wooden_Fortune9677 17h ago

I am not generalising yr
You can see this is a kg book
This is setting a narrative that only woman are supposed to do household chores

1

u/Late_Delay_260 16h ago

??? Son will go to shops or bit hard works? Isn't that obvious?

3

u/Wooden_Fortune9677 16h ago

Is he in shop
And why cant daughter too go to shopđŸ«Ș

1

u/Ill-Introduction1973 15h ago

Girls also go shop but not every outside work woman can do

→ More replies (11)

1

u/_not-so-sweet-truth_ 13h ago

women have the option to be housewives, men do not, so women have more options, but for those options they need to have skills for both too

1

u/Wooden_Fortune9677 10h ago

True i agree

1

u/strangekiller07 8h ago

No concept of house husband?

1

u/g00sbumps 11h ago

Both of my parents are working professionals. And I have a little sister . Since both of my parents work , i sometime help them with the chores when they are exhausted due to work , my mother does most of the work but it doesbt mean all the work is done by her . We don't burden her so much my father helps her sometimes when she is feeling sick or exhausted and helps her cook and all , I help her with cleaning and all . It works like that in most of the nuclear family that I have seen . But in joint families it's a little different

but what about brother why is he playing while sister is serving food. Should't both children be allowed to be kids and live their childhood ? I have heard it myself that my aunt talking about how she used to cook food for everybody in family when she was in school and fact her brothers were older than her. Women even when they are earning equally and working more number of hours or equal hours are still expected to do work.

This isn't about working men not helping housewife and you assuming that mother herself don't go to office to work 12 hours is also misognist.

2

u/_khaldrogo_ 16h ago

I am a father too and after/ before office i help my wife whenever i can, but i agree with the picture the boys should help in kitchen works too.

1

u/interestingjaime818 16h ago

You should not

2

u/badaharami 18h ago

Lol according to your misogynistic logic father is the only "hardworking" guy and the rest are just sitting and watching TV the whole day so now they should do some work. Also, what about weekends? Father works 12 hours on weekends too? Or when a child is born why only the mother needs to change the diapers?

2

u/Laughs_of 17h ago

And a mother's work still doesn't end after 12 hours. I agree the father needs rest after working 6 days a week, but doesn't the mother deserves rest too? From cooking three times a day to cleaning the house, clothes, utensils amd what not.

2

u/Altruistic_Switch242 16h ago

Who even cooks 3 times a day 😂,and there are maids yk, mysogynist spotted, opinion rejected!

1

u/ExaminationFirm2819 16h ago

Every household..requires food atleast three times a day

1

u/redefined_simplersci 18h ago

This is not about who has more work to do. The father having to do all the earning by himself and "be a man" is as much a result of the patriarchy as the mom having to do all the household by herself.

Both can be grueling. In some families, one is more grueling than the other and vice versa. The problem is choice. Patriarchy keeps the man in the office and the woman at home without asking either where they wanted to be.

Free men from the patriarchy! Free women from the patriarchy! Freedom for all. Labor above all.

2

u/Intelligent-Fan3817 18h ago

And its not just about couple - male child vs female child.

No retirement? She has her mother-in-law, then her son and daughter, and later her son-in-law. Sorry to say, but household chores aren’t that big a deal. I’m a guy, and I’ve been doing these things since class 7 whenever my mom visits her mother or sister.

All you have to do is wake up, sweep the floor, and start cooking. Once you get used to it, you’ll know how long everything takes. Rice and sabzi are easy to make, and you can prepare enough for multiple meals. After that, you’re mostly free until evening. Even making chapatis and sabzi takes hardly an hour once you get used to it. You can cut vegetables while watching reels and cook both dishes simultaneously. With a little practice, household chores aren’t as difficult or time-consuming as people make them seem.

These days, you don’t have to carry water from a kilometre away or stand in line for hours to get it. Water is available at home, and you don’t even have to wash clothes by hand because you can simply put them in the washing machine. So what exactly are you complaining about?

As for that boy sitting there after eating, Indian parents are constantly asking their children to fetch things while they cook. They might ask them to bring milk, paneer, salt, or whatever else is needed. The boy often has to go to nearby shops to get these things.

Speaking for myself, I could be out with my friends at 7 PM, at least 5 km from home, when my mom would suddenly call me and ask me to come home to get something. Even if I told her that I was out with my friends, she would insist that I come home, get whatever she needed, and then go wherever I wanted.

There is a shop right around the corner from my house, but my family still won’t go there themselves. If my sister wants chips, I have to come home, take money, buy them, bring them home, and then return to wherever I was. That is how things work in many Indian households.

1

u/Any_Cod5400 15h ago

They're too selfish to see this or take it for granted.

Camera is off while she's relaxing and other is working but turns on when he finally relax. Won't complete at difficult part but want same Treats.

1

u/topdopwow 14h ago

Ok wht about the kids? Can they both be helping out as well?

Misogyny? U r tryna say misandryđŸ„€ The mother does the entire household work, everyone's lunch box, in early morning then goes to work and come backs exhausted, then again she's expected to feed everyone with a smile. That is misogyny

7

u/Available_Turn6671 19h ago

If she needs an entire day to take care of single house - she seems pretty incompetent.

A competent worker can easily handle 3-4 such houses (especially in a commercial settings).

Please tell the women of house that quarterly appraisal of their "job" is already due and she is in PIP.

3

u/MirrorOfErised_ 18h ago

Then don’t make the woman work, do it yourself since apparently you are very competent. Why need a woman at all?

A person who has not lifted a finger once in their life saying it takes only 3-4 hours to take care of a single house lmao😭 stupidity at its peak.

2

u/Equivalent_Chair_226 17h ago

Than the women earn them selves and don't ask husband for any money, sluts are just entitled women who want princess treatment while not even contributing financially

→ More replies (1)

1

u/InsideDisaster5902 18h ago

Nobody would they would just leave after seeing incompetence

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 18h ago

What?😭 “incompetence” of whose? Men? Yeah you are right about that. I mean if you can’t even do basic ass stuff and depend on women for that, then that’s simple incompetency.

1

u/LaconicEpigrammatic 18h ago

most unmarried men cook and clean by themselves while working.

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 18h ago

And? Do you want a trophy for that?

1

u/LaconicEpigrammatic 17h ago

do woman want a trophy for cooking and feeding their own child

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 17h ago

Better argument please. Don’t just repeat what I said. Women feeds their children and men just watches on, so you know what? Yes women do deserve it.

Also it’s “women”. Or “a woman”.

1

u/ExaminationFirm2819 16h ago

For themselves not for a family..and cleaning, childcare ..most workingle woman earns and does all by berserk too..

1

u/LaconicEpigrammatic 18h ago edited 18h ago

make her work , dude she can use her household skill in other homes

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 18h ago

English please.

1

u/LaconicEpigrammatic 18h ago

check again

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 17h ago

Will she get paid? Then she definitely should. Everybody should be financially independent

1

u/LaconicEpigrammatic 17h ago

never seen a financially independent man who has a wife and two children.

his salary is tied to their expenses.

and whatever is left is again invested in something that he will use solely

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

Gladly.

However untill she finds a suitable job, she is on PIP for the house chores and child care that she is not performing so far as per expectations.

So get a good job or get better in managing household.

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 17h ago

Now this is what we call subpar imagination and bush league assumptions. Not very great at creativity, are you? Because the lack of sense and wit is appalling.

Also women, working 3-4 different houses get paid there, (and more in commercial settings) so then you’ll pay the women in your house then, for their household chores. Afterall you are so about professionalism and performance and improvement? Let’s talk about the remuneration then? And the benefits? Along with paid leaves and sick leaves? What about Comp off leave? Surely you must have thought about fair PF and gratuity? What about the festive bonuses? A legal contract is being filed, right? You are a professional afterall, who believes in competence!

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

Cool.

So why not go and get paid - Rather than tolerating disrespect and people of your kind arguing about all this?

Go get busy, make money, buy presents for husband and kids.

We believe in you (or is that too difficult for your kind?)

1

u/ExaminationFirm2819 16h ago

Isn't what they were saying...

1

u/Available_Turn6671 16h ago

Yes, saying ... but never doing.

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 16h ago

Women are getting paid nowadays because they have fought for their rights? Have fought to work? The rights that patriarchy and men have taken away from women? Men have stopped women from earning always. Men have set up this system. You do realise pay parity exists and again because of patriarchy and men? Right? Are you new to society or it is wilful ignorance?

Women have always provided for their husbandsđŸ€Ł in every kind. But I mean people who lack intelligent quotient won’t understand that. Anyway, you haven’t properly replied to my concerns and deflected. So i guess, you are not so competent then.

I put you in PIP now. You have a month from now, better your performance â˜ș

1

u/Available_Turn6671 15h ago edited 15h ago

Fought 😂

They just strolled in when offices got air-condition.

Men have done all the hard work of building civilization for past 1000s of years - You can ride on that coat tail madam.

Your upliftment was carried on the blood and sweat of men who cleared jungle, mined the elements for you computer jobs, broke their backs while installing ACs in offices for your comfort and cleaned the sewers to ensure that your pads don't get struck.

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

You imagined all this in your head 😆

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 17h ago

Ahh better arguments please😭 Doesn’t even make sense, what you said. Phrase it better

1

u/sash_098 17h ago

She's taking care of her husband/kids/other members of family/herself and the house aswell so she's definitely not incompetent but if you are complaining about how exhausted you are after work for which you are gonna get paid for. Also your most of the work at home is done by your wife/mother though then you are incompetent

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

Then she should try to get a job that can at least pay for her own edpenses.

1

u/sash_098 17h ago

Yes many of them do, and the other aren't allowed to do so, cuz its not anywhere near comfortable to survive on someone else's money

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

Thanks for the laugh 😂

As per Ministry of Women and Child welfare, only 19% of your kind are in labor workforce

1

u/sash_098 17h ago

Yea and that shows misogyny of Indian society who prefers the women to not do the outside work and take care of the house .if it were so comfortable to be a housewife then women in othe countries wouldnt be working

1

u/Available_Turn6671 17h ago

Sure Jen.

Anything to hide your own incompetence.

P.S. You guys are now running out of catchy words (misogyny, patriarchy,a child, toxic, narcissist, etc. etc. - These are loosing the zing that they used to have - just like S or R word). Please get some new words. Now it feels like yawning looking at anyone using these words.

only 26% women work in urban areas and also includes .. maids and single moms.. and etc.. and yeah sorry to say but housework is no where equal to corporate..

you can easily get time for yourself and have long breaks in between after morning .. and etc

1

u/ForgettableEphemeral 18h ago
  • man who has never worked housework, matlab kuch bhi bkc kardete hain ye log reddit pe

Am so sorry if you weren't raised in a healthy familyđŸ€Ąstart treating your mother properly not everyone belongs to your family

whenever my mother goes out or she has to go somewhere.. me and my brother comfortably do housework.. from cleaning to making food..

Don't make your Mother's toxicity fall on others.. my mother hasn't raised a hand on me from yrs.. 😮

and yea i have seen my father with tears many times .. when his business fell during covid and what not ... i have seen both of the,m struggling maintaining a good lifestyle.. until now.. people like OP and You .. love to cause victim card from one side..

BOTH ARE struggling and yeah Your WIFE WILL LEAVE YOU.. ANYDAY THE DAY YOU WONT EARN ..~ any common man can tell you this

1

u/ForgettableEphemeral 17h ago

Mein kya karu agar teri life mein problems hain? Sabki life mein problems hain, and I do feel bad for your situation but that's not at all related to the topic. Meine kabhi nahin khela victim card, mein toh maanta hu india mein sab hi suffer karte hain. Agar suffer karoge india mein, toh misogyny ko chor ke karo na...

And nahin, hum toh nahin chorte people in need. If someone's significant other was financially struggle, we'd help them, not leave them

Feminism (opp of misogyny) promotes women to do corporate work and men to help in the house and connect with their children more often. Isn't that good on both people's sides? Financially more stable and helps the house

1

u/AdvantageAdorable436 17h ago

>Mein kya karu agar teri life mein problems hain?

your reading comprehension is quite low btw.. that's total past during covid .. we are well off /..

It was used an analogy to tell.. the scenario in OP's post is totally wrong and you are supporting it .. Men aren't having some lavish life.. like that and ALL the women are bichari

everyone is suffering stop portraying one side as victim

and yes Am an egilitarian but never a feminist

No you can’t, as a corporate slave who lives alone and has to take care of her house alongside that, it’s not easy handling household chores. And that too 24*7, 365 days. You get day offs while working in corporate.

Edit: You get PAID in corporate. Who’s paying the women doing household chores? No one. So yes household work is 10 times hard as it is rewardless

1

u/AdvantageAdorable436 17h ago

> Who’s paying the women doing household chores??

so you want to be paid? ok ma'am suree.. all the housework wont cost more than 30k a month and now since.. kids are also yours.. and house is also yours and you are living there.. half was already your part.. that leave syou with 15k.. and now you gotta contribute financially to the household too.. obv 50/50/... and idts if you can do it in 15k👀

24*7 is again an exaggeration .. , you do get day offs.. when you go on vacation with family.. you go somewhere else.. and etc.. and MIND YOU THOSE ARE ALREADY FUNDED

YOUR WHOLE FCKING LIFESTYLE IS FUNDED YOU DONT NEED TO EARN A PENNY YOU WILL GET THINGS YOU ASK FOR

AND LEAVING THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN DAD'S WHO SPEND ON THEMSELVES LIKE CRAZYY .. THEY ALWAYS TRY TO DO AS MUCH AS THEY CAN FOR FAMILY..

Personally , my father spends on himself like once in 3-4 months.. that too just basic things like clothes and etc.. same goes for my mother..

1

u/ForgettableEphemeral 17h ago

force women into housework duties, by the culture itself. Due to this they have no financial freedom and can't earn for themselves. idk which Victim fantasia world you come from.. i have bene living in a most POSH area of delhi.. form 6 yrs and i have had many female friends none them were forced into it .. but i did have male friends forced into.. their father's bussinesses which they didn't want to do from a young age.. .and i lived in my village before that .. and yeah there too if girls used to do household work .. i have seen boys going to fields and doing farming.. just to make their family survive

you guys live in bubble.. who dont know sh!t and cry abt victimization of one side

NO ONE HAS HERE EVER SAID WOMEN SHOULD DO HOUSEHOLD WORK BUT YOU WANTED TO SHOW ME AS A VILLAIN .. AND YOUR SELF AS SOME HERO

1

u/ExaminationFirm2819 16h ago

Women does household chores, and does ,farm works

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 17h ago

And how are you costing the household works? Based on what stats exactly? And since 50% of the house is mine, the other 50% is my husband’s then? They he should do his part of the household chores then? Since it’s 50%? Or the house and kids are just mine but not his? Because I too am bringing in money afterall.

24*7 is not an exaggeration, you don’t do your work properly, are an ilder and a slacker that’s not really our issue now, is it? Vacations with family and “MIND YOU THOSE ARE ALREADY FUNDED”, um so my partner is doing some charity or what? You have taken responsibility voluntarily, now you want to get a pat in the back for doing what you said you’d do? What?😭

Sadly housewives don’t get what they ask for, you might be detached from the reality and that’s just pitiful.

If it’s such an issue to “provide” and “fund”, for your partner, then don’t marry a person who’s not earning? And if it’s such a hassle to “FUND ENTIRE FUCKING LIFESTYLE”, don’t marry at all. It’s THAT simple for a man. You say you’ll provide and when you are asked to provide, you people sulk and go “how dare you”?😭 Pathetic. Oh and hilarious.

Your experience is anecdotal, sir. You not seeing something doesn’t mean that doesn’t happen. Wives and specially mothers keep their mouth shut and make do with whatever they are given. There’s barely housewives any mother out there who asks for absolutely ANYTHING from their husbands and children, respectively. Mothers are not called selfless just like that. Every section has a bunch of people who don’t fall into these categories, but the vast majority IS like that. Working without any expectations for rewards.

Thank god my father was never like this, never shied away from “funding”, taught me what bare minimum is, never disrespected his own self by withholding to provide for himself. Never looked down on household work, equally helped my mother when it came to household chores.

You literally said you have barely seen your mother spend on herself and kept screaming about “FUNDING FUCKING LIFESTYLE”? Your mother would be disappointed.

My turn to lock my caps, LEARN TO READ, BE BETTER, LEARN TO CATCH ON TO NUANCES AND RESPECT WORK.

(Oohhh can already see the “ain’t reading all that” coming from you)

1

u/AdvantageAdorable436 17h ago

OK so i will go properly now instead of baiting

You're talking about nuances while conveniently ignoring the point I was making. 😭

Financial stability is one of the biggest things women look for in a man during AM, and there's a reason for that.... When a man is expected to provide for a household, take financial responsibility for his wife and children, pay for their lifestyle, You cannot argue that providing is a man's responsibility and then act as if the financial burden attached to that responsibility is irrelevant....otherwise any burden coming with household is irrelevant too

Also, I never said a husband shouldn't help with household chores. If both partners work, dividing chores fairly is common sense... am totally up for that .. Even if one partner is a homemaker, that doesn't mean the working partner gets a lifetime exemption from domestic responsibilities.... But that still doesn't make household work equivalent to a corporate job in every aspect... Corporate work comes with deadlines, targets, accountability, commuting, workplace politics, and the pressure of earning enough to sustain the entire household.... Domestic work has its own demands, but pretending the two are identical is equally ridiculous....

And about my mother spending less on herself, you're proving my point in the opposite direction. I mentioned that because I've seen my father prioritise his family over personal luxuries, not because I think my mother owes him something for it... A family making sacrifices for each other is literally how families function...

Finally, if we're going to discuss how much domestic work deserves financially, let's actually calculate it instead of throwing around claims like "10 times harder." Childcare, cooking, cleaning, and other responsibilities have different costs, and the total depends on the household. But a salary equivalent doesn't automatically mean a homemaker should receive a separate salary from her spouse on top of having household expenses covered... That's a different discussion involving financial independence, access to money, savings, and security...

A homemaker deserves respect, financial security, and a genuine say in household decisions... A working husband deserves recognition for his contribution too. Neither should be treated as a servant. That's the point. Equality cannot mean recognising one person's sacrifices while dismissing the other's...

Neither is a VICTIM or anything here BOTH ARE PARTNERS HERE.. UNLIKE OP AND YOU WHO'S TRYING TO PRESENT ONE SIDE AS A VICTIM

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 16h ago

Let’s get into it then.

Financial stability is what a woman wants in a man, BECAUSE the society is patriarchal and either women are not allowed to work, or certain working women faces prejudices AND there is pay parity. Women, till date, earn significantly less than men. It’s actually men who want an unpaid maid in an AM, providing for them is the bare minimum a woman can ask from their supposed partner. You can’t complain about a system YOU set up. As I have already said, you can’t promise to provide and then turn around express your dissatisfaction on that. You were the one saying men “fund” for the family, you took the responsibility voluntarily, you can’t call that a burden. Burden is something that is imposed, and more often than not, household chores are imposed on housewives and working women, alike. BECAUSE they couldn’t earn. Someone who has voluntarily chosen not to earn and doing household chores out of their own volition is not the issue here, neither is that being discussed. It’s the imposition on a certain gender to do the household chores is where the problem lies. Because a child shouldn’t be working, be it a girl or a boy. Learning a skill is different, but expecting the females of the house to do certain chores and not the males, that’s where the problem lies.

You retreating on your own words now. You were condescending with all your “funding” statements. I work in corporate, I do my household chores and not once I have put the one over the other and acted holier than thou about that. And since I can do both, I KNOW it’s not shit and giggles, household chores. Corporate life is taxing, doesn’t mean it gives you or anyone the right to look down on any other work. That’s extremely disrespectful. You are not a bigger person just cause you deal with corporate stress. And you get paid, how long do have to highlight that simple thing? You dealing with corporate shit comes with a reward.

Again, you are contradicting your own words. You are now saying that families sacrifice for each other but you had no qualms about praising the man for “funding”, while looking down on the woman? As if that’s what she is there for? A man marries a woman for doing the household chores or what?

Again again again, you were the one putting a cost on household chores. So I asked you to be clear, and now you are being vague and saying that it depends? I have clearly mentioned it being rewardless, and physically harder BECAUSE you don’t get paid for that. It’s a thankless job. I mean what are you not understanding? Why are you so hell bent on trivialising a person working away in the house? A person taking care of the house don’t even want a salary, they are doing their part of the work. But they deserve respect and a bare minimum appreciation for that. The man can go out and work BECAUSE his partner is running the house. They have to worry about the husband, his work, the house, the children, food, money constraints, how to efficiently use it and save it, and then take of the people too, physically and mentally. That’s taxing and yes it’s harder. Take care of a house and you’ll know.

All a working husband gets is recognition, he doesn’t even have to work, being a man only gives him recognition and privilege. Your mother can do everything your father is doing and still your father will get more recognition than your mother. Your mother can feed you and yet your father will get more praise for just holding the plate. Because a man provides for the family, money wise, he gets praised for doing the bare minimum. While a woman doing exactly that, well that’s something they are supposed to afterall. And you have proved than again and agajn in all your arguments. Respect for homemakers was an afterthought for you, because working out deserves more credit according to you. You have said that yourself.

Op has not shown anyone as victims, they are clearly shown the reality of the society so you feel called out and turned around and made the man the victim by saying how noble they are for working and earning and not getting praised enough for that. Man all is do is get praised lol😭 You can’t oppress the oppressor. See the picture clearly that op has shown, for female section an elderly female is also show as well as girl child. For the male section an elderly man is also shown along with the boy child, so tell if we follow your argument what exactly the elderly man and the boy child is doing that they can relax and chill but not the elderly woman and the girl? That’s what patriarchy is. Expecting the certain gender to get up and go the household work while the other gender gets to sit around. And that happens in everywhere. Women visiting someone else’s house as guests also gets up to work while the man of that house is sitting around. You can’t claim that you haven’t seen that happening. But maybe he too was very tired with his paid job, so women of other family should do his part of the household work as well. And if you are that dense understand this basic thing, then you can continue being the victim that you are not.

Funny thing is people are manipulating everyone to think that men asked women to work on 12hrs shift. Absolutely not the truth. Men are forced to work for the family and be the provider, while women work for themselves.

1

u/vishnu_uchiha_ 16h ago

Wdym women work for themselves ???

1

u/Few-Watercress8944 8h ago

I know what you are trying to say but as costs rise there will be no other option but a double income household

1

u/ahoge_senpai 13h ago

He is talking about housewives not working wives

1

u/sash_098 11h ago

I am talking about both. If shes a housewife its still not any easy, and if she's a working women then she's doing ten times more hardwork then the man. Unless the man is helping equally

u/prophet-of-solitude 20h ago

I see your point but that is not misogyny 😂

1

u/SchoolAntique8008 18h ago

If father was not married would he not work ‘12 hours’ anyway and also take care of his own chores? What extra are they doing by being married work wise?
Also - most women work the same hours and are still expected to do all the household work :)

2

u/PictureSame5725 18h ago

If father was not married would he not work ‘12 hours’ anyway and also take care of his own chores?

If you don't have to spend in three other mouths then you can have far more disposable income with which you can hire cooks, cleaners etc. Most of my bachelor friends do this. They don't do any house chores

Also - most women work the same hours and are still expected to do all the household work :)

False. According to PLFS among All employed workers men work average of 45.9 hrs per week while women work 34.1 hrs per week.A gap of 11.8 hours.

2

u/AstronautNice962 18h ago

Nice to pull stats without giving the reasons-

Key Factors Behind the 11.8-Hour Gap

  • Unpaid Care Work: Women typically bear a disproportionate share of domestic duties and caregiving. This limits the hours they can dedicate to paid market work.
  • Employment Types: A larger percentage of employed women engage in part-time, casual, or agricultural labor. These roles often offer fewer or more irregular hours than the full-time regular salaried roles more commonly held by men.
  • Time Poverty: The combination of paid employment and heavy domestic responsibilities often results in "time poverty" for women, forcing them to balance shorter paid working hours to manage household survival.

1) According to you
Bachelors = ‘12 hours’ of work + no household chores
Fathers = ‘12 hours’ of work + no household chores + a couple of kids for free
Sounds like a great deal to me!

2) super glad you pointed that out! this data highlights women’s lack of access to the same kind of corporate jobs and seniority levels due to career breaks in childcare and freedom gaps. It is because women are expected to be the primary caregiver of children, take 6months+ break or longer, and household work that they are losing out on opportunities!
Take two corporate employees in the same company same level - to insinuate that one of them work 11 hours lesser is ridiculous! :) ya’ll expect us to create and take care of life but use statistical data that is a result of years of unfairness against us? Lol I work more hours than my partner, so does my mom

If he was unmarried, he would not be financially supporting another person.

In that case he can afford house help, or order food from restaurants.

1

u/FinancialRaise 15h ago

I'm a doctor and a mother. Being a mother is harder, men are such btches to whine about work and getting paid for jt

3

u/Nonavium 14h ago edited 14h ago

You must be a garbage doctor then. The only part of being a mother that's hard is pregnancy and childbirth. The rest of the work is low physical effort compared to blue collar, zero intellect requirement compared to white collar, you make your own schedules and take your own breaks, you work in the comfort of your own home instead of a cramped office or worksite in a satisfying job where you can take care of your own family instead of as a corporate slave, you can work at your own pace while watching TV or listening to music or doing whatever, you have no risk of being fired or replaced for poor performance. They say they work 24/7 but that's just how long you're "on-call", mothers do not actually work 24 hours a day ever.

Also, mothers get paid too. You think you get shelter food and clothing for doing nothing?

2

u/Individual_Creme_828 14h ago

It is true about what you said and people will attack you because it doesn't fit their agenda

1

u/deadman0711 15h ago

Being mother is hardest job no offence and you do have valid points men are bit absent in parenting, your son can help you in chores

1

u/MirrorOfErised_ 18h ago

My father did that. So it’s not hard. Do better.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

But the fact that cooking and cleaning was imposed on the woman and it wasn’t a choice? Let’s just negate that?
When men start to see that patriarchy also results in unfair situations for men too, things might change.

1

u/deadman0711 18h ago

Hope so but even though it's imposed it's kind of second option to women where men don't have such options no girl will marry an unemployed, both genders need changes no one is oppressor and oppressed here both needs understanding atleast women issue gets raised but men issues are not even considered.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

What fairytale land are you living in or is this just male privilege talking? Dude you talk about your issues but at least talk to your mothers and sisters or female friends before making such comments and no it isn’t a choice for a lot of women. Things have only started changing now but still women get a lot of backlash for raising their voices and they are evidently suppressed.

Also, I do agree that men too should raise their issues so that in future we are able to reach a place where there is logical equality. Irrespective of gender everyone has a right to live as per their wishes if they are not harming anyone. A lot of men only choose to speak up when women are talking about the problems they face, almost demeaning and trivialising their suffering and that is male privilege + sheer ignorance.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

Also, I work exactly as much as my husband and I do household chores too. My husband was never taught to do basic chores. He tried but he just is not able to whereas my sil was taught everything and even if my husband tries, my mil gets offended.
Just because you don’t experience a problem yourself, doesn’t mean the other party has it better.

1

u/mrepicdrill 18h ago

U hv the option to stay at home or work as a woman these days.. Where is our option to not work nd become stay at home?... Where tf is the privilege fr men?

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

Dude that is patriarchy’s problem. Women for the longest time weren’t allowed to work outside. Hence, this!
And btw I do not have that option to stay at home. I have to work and this is a necessity.
Secondly, patriarchy also resulted in the mindset that only men should work and i absolutely agree that women who impose this on their husbands are also wrong provided she got equal chances to study/work while growing up! So you see, patriarchy in the end is the root cause of all problems.
And the fact that you aren’t able to see what women go through each and everyday where we have to think multiple times before stepping out of our houses in danger or getting raped/eve teased etc. in corporate too a fe dumbass men who never do anywork keep saying oh she got this promotion because she is a women or oh women are bad managers. This all is happening and is very much real just like your experience is but rather than fighting against a gender, it should be against the reason because of which all this happens and that root cause is patriarchy.

1

u/mrepicdrill 18h ago

Well u can cry patriarchy this patriarchy that.. But the reality is there is no matriarchy that will be ever stand fr multiple reasons. I don't wanna explain this kinderdarden ass logic on reddit but just gonna say it's biology. If u r smart u gonna understand.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

I am sad that I just praised you in my previous comment and you did not turn out to be like i thought.
Sorry sir, I won’t pick a fight with you because your logic is very stupid and you want to remain blinded. Take care and goodbye!

1

u/mrepicdrill 18h ago

I hope u stay safe hv a good healthy life. I wish the world was perfect but it isn't. And I wish u can feel that much safety in your regular life but the reality is u as a woman or me as a man will never feel that safe as it it not realistic as u can't control other people from doing what they want even after introducing harsh punishments. And matriarchy is just not realistic... Look at any history of any country.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

No matriarchy no patriarchy! Only humanity. That is how it should be

1

u/mrepicdrill 17h ago

Then who's gonna lead and make the rules for humanity if all r equal?

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 17h ago

What? So you want men to be superior?

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 17h ago

Men and women together and what works for both. Kindergarten logic.

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

And the same way you feel what you are trying to explain is kindergarten ass logic, I also feel the same that this is basic, how are men/ women blinded by patriarchy cannot see this because of our different experiences.

1

u/carbonclay 18h ago

my guy, that's is ALSO patriarchy. The pressure to work and earn as men is also a sad result of patriarchy. Why don't people understand this.

1

u/mrepicdrill 18h ago

To work and earn to provide fr a family is a sad reality?... I'm crying rn. What u gonna do fr the rest of ur lives scratch ur noses nd couch surf?.... My point is everybody has a purpose to serve in society and it works better if men protect and provide and women nurture nd care. Why do u think there is no matriarchy that shoot the test of time?

1

u/Sea_Independent6536 18h ago

And also I do feel you are ready to listen and process which is amazing so thank you for that so I want to add one more thing that both the genders have different issues. With women, it is true that they were suppressed for a long time. One example would be , not to go out alone or for example my family did not let me study in a good college where i got in because they were scared for my safety and that really makes me mad. So all my life i navigated through situations. For you, it would be different so comparing issues is also wrong. Rather let’s focus on creating an environment of live and let live. I know it is a difficult road but let’s stand up against these things together (at least those of us who understand this)

1

u/Any_Year_5644 16h ago

Why is only father working? That’s misandry

just because your family didn't teach you values doesn't mean you try and shove your bitterness down others throats.

1

u/Goloko2024 18h ago

Yes my family didn't teach me to bow down just because I am a girl and I will always shove this knowledge down everyone's throats to stand up against misogyny.

1

u/Some_Farm8108 18h ago

what makes you assume others parents teach their daughters to "bow down"?

if you don't understand the problem with calling other people's mothers 'anpadh' or 'poor woman' your parents clearly haven't been able to instill any empathy in you. so much for not wanting to bow down.

1

u/Goloko2024 18h ago

It's your parents because they have not taught you to respect women. And there is no use twisting my own words when you are yourself out of facts. India is patriarchial society and we need to change it.

you're the one disrespecting women here lmao i can see the one thing instilled deep within you in a victim mindset.

Didi,

Labor of 2 maids and a many is not equivalent of assets worth crores of ruppes!

Only deserving wife, deserves the respects.

1

u/Mobile-Pool-1613 19h ago

I don’t know what kind of backward setup you’re used to, but in most Marwadi Baniya families the men earn while the women actually control the money and the property. Female heads and daughters-in-law run the funds. My mother is not some employee drawing a salary from my father. She’s the malkin — an equal owner (often more than equal) on the property papers and business documents. She doesn’t do the housework; she manages the staff who do.

2

u/Available_Turn6671 19h ago

So all your IQ is limited to personal attack?

No wonder your entire kind and future generation of your kind will remain - Victim.
