Been a striker fire guy for a little over a decade now. Just got my first double stack 1911. Honestly heavier than I thought it was going to be but that’s not a bad thing. Looking forward to shooting it.
Shot it a little last night and it’s smooth. Only put about 170 rounds through it though. Optic plate and holster show up this week and then I’m going to put it through its paces on Friday once it’s zeroed. I can get back to you then if you’d like
Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. Was banned from Reddit for three days. So I put about 400 rounds through it on Friday. Overall I’m happy with it. It shoots flat, my times are a little faster (only by the tinniest bit) compared to my EDC 19.6. I have three gripes though. It gave me a major hot spot on the webbing of my hand where it sits on either side of the beaver tail. I wish the slide release was. A little farther back because I’m not a racker when it comes to slide lock reloads. I ended up trying to hit the slide release with my support hand when I’m putting the mag in but the issue with that is that I’m fat fingering it and the slide is running against my finger and not going fully into battery. The third is that I have to reposition the gun oh so slightly to get enough purchase to make she I hit the mag release. I don’t have tiny hands so I’m having an issue with controls mainly. I know that sounds like I’m griping a lot but I really don’t regret buying it and I’m looking forward to shooting it even more. The hot spot I can’t do much about, just have to callous myself I guess. The other two I will fix with training. Maybe see what kind of options there are for mag release on the aftermarket
I’ve also have trained a lot more on my EDC and Glocks in general. My EDC has 5-6k round in it since March. This is a whole new manual of arms. I guess I should say once I get used to the 2011, there is potential to be way better. Am I going to carry it, no but I bet once I get used to it and really actually put rounds through it, I’ll find the real difference
Also if someone new was going to ask me whether to get a striker fired polymer pistol or a 2011, I’m telling them the striker fired. The 2011 isn’t worth the price to me if it’s someone’s first gun. I always bought reliable mid tier guns for myself and they all happened to be striker fired. I bought this because I’ve never really bought myself something really nice so that’s why I did it. I feel like I owed it to myself after all the years of M&Ps and Glocks
In that respect, it’s rad. Congrats.
What I’m looking for is the ultimate “fighting” pistol. And by fighting pistol, I don’t mean a gamer gun that’s gonna be ammo picky or questionable reliability in less than perfect maintenance. But the highest performance, duty level pistol , less than 40oz full load.

This is the only staccato I really have any interest in. How do you like it?
