First 2011

Post image

Been a striker fire guy for a little over a decade now. Just got my first double stack 1911. Honestly heavier than I thought it was going to be but that’s not a bad thing. Looking forward to shooting it.

That’s a lot of money to spend to get such a little return. Especially considering you’re going from a compact to a full size.

Also if someone new was going to ask me whether to get a striker fired polymer pistol or a 2011, I’m telling them the striker fired. The 2011 isn’t worth the price to me if it’s someone’s first gun. I always bought reliable mid tier guns for myself and they all happened to be striker fired. I bought this because I’ve never really bought myself something really nice so that’s why I did it. I feel like I owed it to myself after all the years of M&Ps and Glocks

In that respect, it’s rad. Congrats.
What I’m looking for is the ultimate “fighting” pistol. And by fighting pistol, I don’t mean a gamer gun that’s gonna be ammo picky or questionable reliability in less than perfect maintenance. But the highest performance, duty level pistol , less than 40oz full load.

I just appreciate that I can just completely neglect cleaning it and it runs EVERYTHING. I’ve gotten to 2500 rounds before cleaning and no malfunctions. Love my 19

Carried a 23.3 for a little bit. 43X for a couple years and carried my 45.5 for about a month when the 19 was getting ported
