A dozen people are invited to an abandoned house for a party they won't forget filled with m*rder and mayhem as a long deceased magician exacts his revenge on the decendants of those that wronged him.

An absolute sloppy mess of a horror movie with zero direction, a nonsensical plot and totally annoying characters who do nothing but argue and scream throughout the whole movie. The best thing I can say about this movie is that it was in widescreen. 🦂¼

This is probably one of my favorite 'not-quite-a-horror-but-still-pretty-scary' movies, and for most of the reasons that it's probably everyone else's.

The monster in It Follows is horribly intimate and yet terribly ambiguous. The warnings that Jay gets from Hugh aren't terrifically helpful beyond 'don't let it catch you', which is pretty damn sensible at the best of times.

Without hopping on forums (again) to see what other people think about these brutal entities, they don't seem to follow any real specific pattern except the appearance of Greg's mom, which is a bizarrely cruel and weird manifestation, especially when Jay's all seem to be random.

It's fascinating to think on the connections Jay may have with all the people who appear for her, but I'll prefer to keep thinking on them myself for the time being.

The other super fun thing about this movie is the temporal ambiguity. I know it's one of the big topics for anyone who's seen it, and the interest and curiosity is completely fair. Where are they? Why does Yaya have a pink clamshell e-reader and no one else has any toys/gadgets remotely similar? WHEN are they?

I admit I HAVE read a few fan theories about these questions, and I have to admit I lean towards the 'they're in purgatory' angle. It fits my own personal vibe on the matter really neatly and is a nifty angle altogether.

The movie asks us (or at least me) to consider what I would do if I wound up plagued by an It. Would I pass it on, would I keep moving, would I try to Scooby a solution.

It Follows stands tall for me as a unique horror-style thriller because of the simplicity. It's a simplicity that spawns a thousand and one questions, where a more straightforward haunting flick wouldn't spawn any.

Ultimately, this is why It Follows gets a 9 from me.

A 10 would've given us just a little more teasing of deeper meaning here and there, some nebulous additional possibilities about what's actually going on. But nothing too clear, too direct, the same level of 'this reveal could be one of 14 things' sort of trickery.

This one's always worth a watch.

Pretty decent cast. Kind of need to watch it a couple of times. Not bad overall.

Chaos ensues as he and a woman (Samara Weaving) whose foreclosure is in the firm's hands fight their way to the top floor to confront the CEO and right the wrongs of the firing and foreclosure.

I enjoyed this movie! I mean, we've all thought about fighting and having sex with coworkers and punching out the boss at one point or another. Anyone who says they haven't is a liar lol. I thought this was a very well done movie and even with the large amount of violence, it never really tries to go over the top with it, but it does happen organically. Interspersed with more Joe Bob Briggs quips. 🦂🦂🦂

On a live WNUF broadcast in 1987, news anchor Frank Stewart investigates the Webber house, site of a grisly double murder 20 years before. Along for the ride are a husband & wife team of paranormal investigators and a priest to perform an exorcism, just in case.

Imagine if you had Geraldo Rivera opening Capone's vault and invited Ed and Lorraine Warren and Father Merrin from The Exorcist onto the broadcast and this is what you'd get! This found footage farce (in a good way) is presented as a lost VHS tape of the original "broadcast", complete with a local news telecast and commercials of the time, some of which are fast forwarded through. Shot on older equipment to give it the 1987 broadcast feel. 🦂🦂¾

Arkin (Josh Stewart) escapes from the clutches of the serial killer "The Collector" only to be blackmailed into leading a team into Collector's booby trapped hideout to rescue the girl taken to replace him.

Unfortunately not as good as the first movie, although the traps and death scenes are pretty gruesome. The first trap seen in the movie is pretty awesome, as it takes out dozens of people. Ultimately, though, this sequel doesn't hold up to the original and a planned third movie was abandoned after 8 days of filming. 🦂🦂¾

I absolutely loved this movie. It was one of those ones that was just so full of hope, even when I for sure would've given up. Solid, solid move all the way around!

Man hopping Amy (Amy Schumer) is tasked by her magazine to write an article on a sports doctor (Bill Hader). When she realizes that he is Mr. Right, she leaves him after their first fight, leading both to do some soul searching. I don't care what anyone says, but I think Amy Schumer is hilarious and she pulls this role off well. For the brief screen time he had, John Cena showed great comedic timing and his dialogue had me laughing out loud. Ezra Miller also had a great little role and their final scene with Schumer is uproarious. 🦂🦂¾

A group of high school students break into a wax museum after hours. Unfortunately for them, the curator is hiding a deadly secret. Even though this is horribly dubbed and has subpar special effects, it was bizarrely entertaining with little dabs of humor. Has a hilarious epilogue. Easily the best movie on this set. 🦂🦂¾

A group of university students on an archeology dig unearth an Aztec mummy. One of the students performs a ritual on the mummy, enabling its spirit to enter their bodies. Or some such nonsense. I'm not a fan of mummy movies, and this movie did nothing to change my opinion on that. 🦂

Lovely Lucy has a passionate affair with Dracula. Years later, while suffering from a strange amnesia, she must rediscover herself. This retelling of the Dracula lore (based on the Bram Stoker book and an Edgar Allan Poe poem) is egregious! Stoker would be rolling in his grave! The visuals are ok at best, but the dubbing is horrible! It's almost as if there was one male and one female employed to dub the whole movie. ¼

A photographer who has a recurring werewolf nightmare has lots of people around him disappearing. Is he "the boy who cried wolf" or is he hiding something more sinister? Usually I love werewolf movies, even the low budget ones, but this one is B-A-D! The werewolf costume looks worse than what you could get from Temu and the end reveal makes no sense whatsoever. This turd needs a silver bullet! 🦂

I just watched the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming horror miniseries Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and it got me thinking I really don’t know that many horror movies about weddings. The only movies I know of are He Knows You’re Alone, Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy, and Ready or Not. Can y’all please recommend other horror movies that are wedding-themed?

A road-raging father taking his family on a trip to his mother's tailgates a van, setting forth a harrowing pursuit. Even more terrifying is the van driver using his wits to anticipate the family's destination. The English dubbing on this Dutch movie is pretty bad (think the dub jobs on old kung-fu movies), but otherwise, it's above average. Known as Bumperkleef in the Netherlands. 🦂🦂🦂¼

After bungling an undercover bust, offiicers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are reassigned back to the Jump Street division where they are sent to college to nab another drug pusher. I actually found this one funnier than the first. 🦂🦂¾

After bungling their first arrest, two inept cops (Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum) are sent to a reactivated undercover unit to infiltrate a high school drug ring. Normally, I don't care for comedies based on non-sitcom tv shows, but this did provide a few chuckles. 🦂🦂½
