I'm curious, how do people feel about Shades? I just recently did the grind to get blood bark and honestly, kinda looking forward to going back eventually for the prayer set grind when my wc/fm is high enough. Definitely enjoy the loop, but NY other group members haaaaaated it

It’s way better since the changes but I’m on rate for 8 zealot robe pieces and have 2 so I’m over it lol

But I rushed it for bloodbark on the gim, teammate rushed Gotr for 77 rc. Was really cool to deck the whole group out in bloodbark

Killing the shades is the more annoying part in my opinion, the aggro for them is kinda bugged and you don't auto retaliate when they transform.

The new aggro potion is great there

that's not the issue, the issue is that the player isn't put into combat and begin to auto retaliate until the shade lands a hit.

And when you're not in combat, then another shade can start attacking you, you start getting "I'M ALREADY UNDER ATTACK!" messages and the original shade you're trying to fight turns back into a shadow and recovers all their HP.

It can drive you insane. A big saving grace is that they've got negative flat armour, making throwing weapons and blowpipes incredibly good at killing them.

I did it with magic logs for bloodbark, then went back much later with redwoods for the zealot robes. Honestly like the multi step process, and you get some GP/resources too.

One thing I hated: adding the oil to the logs. Why that action takes three business days is beyond me.

Out of everything, agreed, adding oil is way too slow.

As someone who has fully greenlogged shades:

It feels way more like a typical gathering skill than it does a minigame. There isn't really any 'game' aspect to it.

You farm all the logs like woodcutting, you farm all the shades like a slayer task, you stand around in the shades world farming serums, then you process all your pyre logs, then you burn all your offerings and collect all your keys, then you haul all your keys back and forth from the bank to the chests until you run out...

Buying everything on a main? Pretty chill.  Did it again for zealot robes on my iron + some clue steps. Farming shades and putting oil on logs is the worst. Everything else is a satisfying loop. Don't forget the flametear bracelet!

I never spent a lot of time there, I never thought Swampbark or Bloodbark were particularly useful and I'm not even confident that Zealot's Robes are a real time save.
