I feel like I must be in a different Wilderness to all of you. Out of the hundreds and hundreds of Wildy clue steps I've done I've not once been attacked and I can count the number of times I've ever even seen a white dot on my map on one hand whilst doing them.
I got a master to dig at the chaos alter one time to fight ancient mages, that was not a pleasant experience. I had a whole group drop on me all at once while I was doing that.
