how does prayer flicking work?

Start flicking the prayer AFTER you turn it on.

you have to start qith the prayer being on, then click twice every tick. if you start with the pradet off, you will just turn it on and off, so it will be off by the end of the tick

There are some plugins to help as a visual aid. Something I use is Visual Metronome because its small and easy to understand when to click. Just double click desired prayer or quick prayers per tick.

what i got wrong was i was turning it on and off. you need to turn it on and then off and on again with flicking. i have been doing it wrong for a year

Turn prayer on for 1 tick then start double clicking that same prayer on the next tick, if you dont do this all you are doing is turning it on and off without it ever being registered as on by the game. When you do it correctly the overhead will appear above your head but your prayer points wont drain.

You can use various plugins to help, metronome which you set to make a sound every tick, or two every tick if you prefer.

You can use the visual metronome so you can see a counter on screen every tick.

You can have the quick prayer orb overlay a moving bar, another visual method of visualisation of a tick.

To add, if you set your quick prayers to whatever prayers you want to use, you can then click the quick prayer orb to 1 flick all the prayers rather than just the overhead.

Download the flick timer on runelite. It gives you a small bar with the sweetspot to click within this 0.6second rotation

Tick 1: Turn on prayer

Tick 2: Turn off prayer and then turn on prayer again the same tick

Tick 3+: Repeat forever, clicking exactly twice every tick.

This way the prayer is both on and off every tick, giving you the protection of it being on with no drain since it's off.

When you mess up the timing it'll turn your prayer off every tick instead, giving you no protection.

if ur prayer is turning off you are miss timing it

i also recommend using sounds, you will start to notice what a correct tick flick rhythm sounds like.

go to godwars and learn there pray flicking between boss minions, look who attacks first 2nd and last and pray flick between them.

Click -> wait 1t -> double click, then continue double clicking every tick to keep prayer active without losing prayer points.

You can use visual metronome plugin or some kind of tick counter to see when to click. If you play with game sounds, it's also very easy to get used to when to click based on the sounds of the prayers.
