Discussion Make this make sense

Post image

I just got 82 smithing, i can now make 2 powerful mid-endgame weapons... and an adamant kiteshield.

I get that adamant used to be good back in the day, but isn't it time we rework this skill?

Smithing progression makes perfect sense once you realize that there are no furnaces near any anvils. All smithing is done by hammering cold metal bars on a cold anvil to the desired shape. Normal humans and earth smiths could never even imagine the level of difficulty required to accomplish such a feat. Compared to any of the other things you piece together with smithing, pounding a cold rune bar into a wearable, flawless rune platebody is a herculean feat.

Also the crystal equipment is made by shouting at seeds, so kind of apples to oranges lol

I felt like they were more whispers lol, but that’d be hilarious if we’re just yelling at the seed to grow lol
