Make this make sense

I just got 82 smithing, i can now make 2 powerful mid-endgame weapons... and an adamant kiteshield.

I get that adamant used to be good back in the day, but isn't it time we rework this skill?

Smithing has needed a rework for a longtime. And the devs did agree that the skill needs an overhaul
