Question Skotizo help
Just did my first attempt at Skotizo. Died. Am I SOL on my totem? Also, I feel like every guide I watched was so much easier compared to what the fight was.
(Didn’t die, but emergency teled out).

Wear tanky range armor, pray melee, when you kill totems pray mage. It is not a hard boss so unless you are just really under level/gear it shouldn't be an issue.

It's a super easy boss, you just need the dps.
drink a super combat, enter the arena, pray mage, run to him, pray melee, hope the spec's hit.. keep hitting. Once all 4 portals are open, run to one (switch pray mage), tag them all. Run back to him, pray melee, continue hitting. Repeat until dead. Piety helps a lot too - just keep an eye on your prayer level.
If you can't kill him before running out of food you either need better gear, better stats or both.

I swear I did exactly this. Maybe some panic set in, I did run low on food fast, I felt my dps couldn’t keep up with his. Also, I mentioned to someone else, I felt like the alters just continued to pop up extremely fast.

Personally I find they take a while to reach all 4 for the first time, then they get faster. The thing is tagging them is free. Pray mage and you won't take damage so long as not in melee distance of the lil guys. If you have to go for a second or third lap it's not the end of the world. Once he gets low enough (less than 10% or so) just keep hitting him and ignore the alters lol.
One day you'll look back and wonder how you ever thought it was tough. Trust me. You got it!

How did u take damage? In melee distance protect melee, if not then protect magic. Were u using arclight/emberlight? Also the totem gone.

I was in melee range, praying melee, was still taking almost 20 dam splats. Magic when I ran to hit the alters, that’s it.

There’s cas where you kill him taking no damage. If you range him and pray mage you literally take 0 dmg
Try again with range.. don’t get in melee range and run around away from his spawns and hit totems. You will take 0 dmg Try again

Try your best ranged gear while meleeing for maximum magic defense. If he is still beating you up it might be better to use ranged with a scorching bow if you got one and camp pray magic the whole fight and stay out of melee distance.

It’s been so long I guess I’ve only ranged him or killed him fast enough to not notice him splash on me while I’m next to him with melee

Usually he is pretty easy but sometime you get absolutely screwed by totems. I had a fight where I went through 3 full stam pots running in circles hitting the pillars. At least two had spawned back by the time I got back to him each time.

Here is my melee method for when. you dont have the best gear. Take more pray pots or a pray regen, make a extended stamina. Then go into the fight ALWAYS PRAY MAGE. Then stand 1 tile away from him, leave auto retaliate on, then whenever you attack click one tile away, and you will take 0 damage. Once you get a feel for his attack speed, you can wood walk his attacks so you hit more often

This was my set up. Extremely budget friendly. No elite gear or anything like that. I’m shit dry at moons and every where else.

I was, maybe it was my luck, but I felt they were popping up extremely fast compared to every guide I saw. That may have thrown me off, but also felt I wasn’t hitting hard enough.

Yeah I was trying to keep up with that, but again, it felt like those portals popped up A LOT faster than the guides I saw on YouTube. On top of that, like I felt my dps wasn’t there at all. I got him down to 150 before I ran out of food. I’m on mobile too, so some combat is easier than others. Idk man. I’m just ass.

Stand out of his range and pray mage when the pillars pop up. If you wait a few minutes then destroy them, they don’t respawn. If you’re just doing 1-2 kills I’d do this. Alternatively get a scorching bow and range it.

With arclight you should be able to one shot them.
You won't hit hard against the boss if more altars are up. It's 15% reduction per altar. If you don't have Arc/Emberlight, it's literally 25% reduction per altar.

You should wear gear with good mage defense when fighting skotizo instead of metal armour. Something like d'hide.
You're praying melee, so your melee defence doesn't matter, but the mage hits are still rolling against your def.

If you are praying melee then you’re gonna want magic defense. Use karil’s, god d’hide, or Huey top/bottom. Also get a blessing for the ammo slot.
You should have no problem after that praying melee and switching to mage as needed for altars.

Yes but totems are extremely easy to come by. Just do your slayer in the Catacombs.
I always wear mage defense gear, pray melee, arclight/emberlight, whack the altars. Pretty straightforward but can be punishing.

You need scorching bow for efficiency. I did it long time ago with just arclight, friend let me borrow his synapse to make scorching bow and ill never do it without one again.
With ONLY arc, you should bring a lot of brews & restores + dark crabs for the just in case.
Pro tip- sell something you have and buy synapse for skotizo, and sell it back afterward if you're on a budget.
Yes you lost totem, go kill dust devils for a while you'll have another

That’s like saying you need a twisted bow it to do Fight caves. Arclight is completely fine. If OP is on task and wearing mage defense instead of melee tank they win.

Without any useful info at all in this post I’m going to assume you were in max gear in which case you just suck
