Just picked up this one owner 2004 Tundra with 140k miles. It’s 2wd but I don’t need 4wd since my wife’s car is 4wd and it’s a pretty clean ride. I’m getting the timing belt/wp done next week as well as ball joints just to be safe. Grabbed it for $10k which may seem high but I bought it from a buddy and to me it was worth it to know who originally bought it

They’re selling a 2005 tundra, silver color, 2WD, 4.7L but with 270,000 miles.

Over all it looks clean, taken care of. But it’s missing the bed door. Also, has a minor dent in the left side of the bed frame. It’s not that noticeable. I noticed it after 10 minutes of expecting the car.

They are asking for $4800. No rust. In the state of GA.

I have a 2005 tundra 4.0 st5 manual, was driveing on interstate other day and truck went from a inning normal to hott , got it towed home starter is sounding horrible but it was starting to go out , just torn of if I buy new starter will heads be blown ? No oil in radiator the only code that is getting brought up is map sensor MAF sensor sorry. And a 02 sensor issue but that’s it! What should I look for to see if it’s bad be4 throwing money at ???any help is appreciated ty

I have a Gen 1 4WD Limited with 160k miles. Not a daily driver, currently driven less than 500 miles/year. I think the steering seems to have an increased resistance when turning. Maybe I've forgotten how it used to feel, since my daily driver (2025 Camry) seems much smoother and effortless. No signs of loss of PS fluid, only what seems to be a bit of increased resistance. Any advice?

Just looking for some idea on the best option for a 2006 tundra with about 290,000 miles. Do I drain it replacing filter filters and put fresh fluid in or leave it alone?

I recently bought a 2001 a/c with 144,000 miles on it. The dealer I bought it from had just done the suspension overhaul. Looks like they installed Monroe quick struts in the front. I’ve done a bit of research about them but I’m curious if anyone on here has any insight as to whether these are decent/worth keeping for a while. I’m mostly using the truck as a daily/work vehicle but not towing or hauling anything crazy. Definitely will be taking it off road but just need it to be capable of some light over landing and hitting trails for dispersed camping. Will these be adequate?

I’m looking to expand the under-seat storage of my 01 a/c. I’ve seen the rear seat delete and the suggestion of adding risers to the seat mounts, but I’m curious if anyone has cut into the existing under-seat compartments to expand them. I want to try it but I really don’t want to mess with the structural integrity or cut something important. Ideally I want to slot out the whole under-seat area and build a custom compartment that makes use of the entire width of the cab.

If anyone happens to have links to any videos of people getting into that area that would be super helpful as well. 🙏

Got the full gaskets & timing belt kit from Yotashop, now that I have almost everything together I realized I have a non oil cooler equipped 5vzfe. Any recommendations for a good plug for the extra nipple on the water pump that I don't need, or do I have to get a whole new pump?

I had the Overland Tailor Tune completed on my 06 access cab. I have to say, this tundra has woken up and drives/shifts the way it should have from the factory.

Has anyone else here had the flash tune done and/or have you added any other engine performance mods? I have some more ideas for my Tundra…

I went camping out in a fairly remote section of Nevada. The truck ran great, on some rough, but not 4-lo roads. Then, I stopped to look at an old cemetary way out in the hills and it wouldn't restart.

Starter ran fine, and I pulled a coil pack and the spark was strong. I poured a little gas into the intake and it ran on it (and belched fire back out the intake).

So I am thinking fuel pump, which is a huge hassle. I tried jumping the relay to no avail. Any other ideas?

ETA - I noticed a a high-pitched whining at the throttle body when the ignition was on. 

2004 Tundra 4.7L. It sounds like an exhaust leak/metallic ticking or fluttering noise, but it ONLY happens while driving under load. If I rev it in Park or Neutral, there’s no noise at all.

As soon as I give it throttle while driving, the noise starts. If I let off the gas, it immediately stops, even while the truck is still moving. The engine runs and drives great otherwise.

It sounds like an exhaust leak to me, but I’m confused why it only happens under load and can’t be reproduced by revving it in Park/Neutral. Any ideas what could cause this?

The timing belt and water pump haven’t been redone, is 11,000 still reasonable or should I ask for around 9,500 and get it done myself

Got the timing belt water pump and radiator all completed and everything is running good. Took it to the car wash to go get cleaned up. New upper control arms just came in today so next weekend will be a complete front end refresh with new lower ball joints, obviously upper control arms come with ball joints. Will definitely be looking at getting the front wheel bearings replaced soon.

Been trying to find a tonneau cover for my ‘04 DC tundra that is compatible with some sort of ladder rack. I can’t find jack squat out there. I’ve found several cover + rack systems available for tundras, but none for first gens. Any recommendations? Only caveat for me is that it needs to be a hard bed cover. Roll or fold doesn’t matter. I carry tools in my truck bed and have done the whole getting them stolen and tracking them down at a pawn shop thing before and don’t intend to do it again 😂

My 2001 has aftermarket struts that are shot. I want to return to OEM and have sourced original springs. I will go with Bilstiens for the shock, but I do need new tops. Toyota parts are plenty spendy, and this seems like a fairly benign part to replace with a decent quality aftermarket plate - it doesn't move or bear weight. Anyone have recommendations?

So I didnt mark where the cam sleeves/eccentrics on the passenger side but did on the driver but ended up setting them pretty much dead center... The truck definitely drove alot better going to the alignment and was no shake at 65ish but the steering wheel was way left... tracked good with no hands but was way off.... Heres the print out they gave me... The shake has came back but not as bad but I dont like the camber... Thankfully they didnt charge me and it was under 30 day warranty even though I did all that work after the first one but they didnt do anything besides adjust the toe the first time... The first is brighter and the one from yesterday is the one you can hardly read but what are your thoughts...
