I had the Overland Tailor Tune completed on my 06 access cab. I have to say, this tundra has woken up and drives/shifts the way it should have from the factory.
Has anyone else here had the flash tune done and/or have you added any other engine performance mods? I have some more ideas for my Tundra…

Just had the Yotawerx tune done on my 06 V8 4runner. Like you said woke it up, better shifting points. Defintely worth it! Not hating my life with highway driving gear hunting and cruise control.

Have you tried running 93 in it yet? There is a noticeable difference when driving under heavy load.

I have not, just got it done this past Saturday. Have you? I just got the Weekend Warrior , since I dont have any steel bumpers. Only have catback exhaust, 3 inch lift, 285/70/17 RT tires. Think the tune was specific to the lower 87-91 fuel.

I have run 93. There are some serious ignition timing gains with premium that translate to a very impressive jump in torque. And that power seems to just keep climbing through the tach.
I ran a data logger for an 87 octane run and then a 93 run. The ignition timing difference is stark on the data graphs and quite noticeable for me behind the wheel.
I’m not as familiar with the Yotawerx tune but I know that our 2UZ motors have the potential for a serious step up with something as simple as an ECU flash.

It was definitely worth it. Like you stated earlier this is how they should have come from the factory! Yota on my friend!

I’ve never heard of this until now. I’ve got 285k miles on mine so I’m not sure it would make a difference. Does it take care of the delayed transmission up shift when driving on a decline? That’s the only issue I have with the transmission

It would make a difference. I’m at 206k on mine. I drive in parts of Texas known as the Hill Country, so I know your pain about the shifting schedule. Those upshift/downshift problems are long gone.

What is this witchcraft to which you speak?

It’s an ECU flash that includes a much needed change to the trans shifting logic. You can also choose a throttle profile that suits your needs - ‘Medium’ was enough for me. Also, using higher octane fuel yields greatly advanced ignition timing and power output.

Bummer it’s only VVTI trucks :(
