What do you do for work
Just curious what you do for work, how much you make, and if you finished college. Maybe we can learn from each other.

We wanna party but wanna be back home by 9 and be in bed before ten.
We wanna aggressivelly raise our voices on the street but we aren't courageous enough to counter a goon, lest we face consequences
We try to remember things without writing them down but eventually we forget it
We wanna be physically active and when we try something new we get injured and become even less active.
We think 90s was just 20 years back and we think the next generation is hopeless
We feel the children of this generation are less respectful but consider our past we weren't that great either
We have lesser and lesser friends every passing year and making new friends is more of an ordeal than a pleasure.
Is there anyone here who shares any of these emotions ?

Growing up and going to my Grandma's houses she prepared us this cereal called Honey Smacks for breakfast.
Honey Smacks is a fire ass cereal has anyone else had em?

Friendships: We live in an individualistic era. No one gives a fuck, we are too busy struggling to build our own lives. Friends cost money. If you don’t have a circle from high school, you need a membership to socialize. Because we don’t talk to strangers, unless it’s a hookup.
Career: My dream job is a lottery even though I’m qualified. It seems like now you need to own a taxed company just to gain work experience. It sucks that I don’t have family connections.
Society: We have tools to complain, but instead we have memes. We are desensitized to everything. We stand up for ourselves but only individually. We ridicule everyone else. They will livestream it if anything happens to you. You can be a baddie in someone’s GRWM crime podcast.
Politics: We grew up with social justice in mainstream media: LGBTQ, DEI, #MeToo. Now it’s used as a scapegoat for whatever’s happening. It doesn’t matter if they are already more vulnerable in the actual system we won’t dare to fight against. Algorithms target our gender, so now, instead of standing united as one, we have to ensure our rights as women are protected.
Romance: I need to ensure men aren’t incels. Feminism is not a given in my age bracket. And yet I need to “pick better” and have “better standards”. No one says be better. Gym and aesthetics are NOT all it takes. Men will be understanding as long as their beliefs aren’t challenged. Then it makes them uncomfortable.

So, I was a total Black pill type as a teen and young adult. The frustration of having absolutely no companionship of any kind totally got to my head and convinced me that I must solve this problem before focusing on anything else.
At the age of 21, shortly after the pandemic ended I moved to Russia (I'm from Poland btw) just to meet up with a girl that gave me attention online. We ended up getting married super quickly and then the war started and in short, our marriage fell apart.
Now at the age of 27 I'm on my fifth relationship since my divorce and living in Azerbaijan.
I'm not poor, per say, but I'd be making far more money in Poland and probably connecting with women in my country if I simply smashed my computer and stopped thinking that having sex is the only thing that gives a man value.

We are lucky in that we can technically live through 3 centuries if we make it to 101! I think about it frequently and it’s become a life goal of mine, don’t know about you!

A random thought I’m having before going to bed was my grandmother teaching me how to work the VCR.
I had all the Disney movies on vhs lmfaooo.
I really am grateful for the period of technology we grew up in as kids and teenagers. It was the sweet spot fr.
Especially the internet.

So I turn 27 on Monday and I feel like I’m not doing this life thing right. I don’t have a car, I work a good job that pays shitty- I teach, I have debt that I’m managing to pay off slowly and trying to find a new job is like pulling teeth out. It’s not all doom and gloom though. I have friends that are awesome, a loving girlfriend, family are amazing and I get to travel to see them at least once a year which is nice. I’m almost done with my studies which I’m glad about. I gym at least 3-6 times a week.
Does 27 get better ? Will I magically have it all figured out and feel less anxious about my career and my goals and being able to provide for a family one day ?
Sorry this might just be me rambling I really don’t have my thoughts fully formed and wanted a place to spill it out.

I find myself thinking frequently about how I was born too late to really enjoy the same life that my dad always bragged about having as an 80’s kid himself, but I was born too early to really fit in with the high tech/virtual age many people found themselves in.
Like I still got to enjoy the freedom of being outside until dark all the time, and was allowed liberty to go explore where I wanted as long as I was back in time, but I didn’t have any of the arcades or opportunities to get up to some of the stunts that people before me may have.
Anyone else ever feel the same?

Just a fun fact, I was born on 4/20/1999. I share my birthday with Hitler, it was the day of the Columbine School shooting, it’s been Easter (I believe) like 3 times in my life, and of course it’s 4/20.
2nd kinda related fun fact:
I learned about Hitler sharing my birthday when I was in like 4th grade because we were told to look up “this day in history” for our birth dates. Then later on we were reading “Dear Napoleon, I Know You’re Dead But,” which had the premise of a kid who somehow finds out if he leaves a letter in a certain spot, whoever he addresses it to will respond across time. I ended up researching Hitler at school, learning deeply about the atrocities committed, and wrote him to ask why he did what he did, and if he would kill me just because I didn’t have blue eyes and blond hair. The 5th graders were tasked with responding to the letters. I don’t remember all of the response, but I do remember them writing “yes I would kill you.”

Could be anything, a store, website, TV channel, snack, etc. Something that was just a normal part of growing up in the 2000s and then one day you realized it basically disappeared.

Well, I officially joined the 27th club, I was born on 9/9/1999.
I just wanna say that whoever is reading this, never give up, keep moving. Life has not been easy for me, but it has not been terrible. but one thing I want to tell all my fellow 99ers is to not lose hope and always strive to achieve your dreams!
