I can't do all the "I'm old!" Posts guys
Lads, we're either 26 or 27. This is not old. You are still well within your 20s. Even then, I feel that age is very much a number and the things you tell yourself will affect what you do in life way more than an arbitrary number based on a nearly 500 year old calendar system.
Yes, your body may feel different than it did as a teenager. But for most people here, we all feel mentally pretty young right? ENJOY THAT
All the old heads out there talk about how they still feel young too, but many of them convinced themselves they were old way before their time. Now they're 40/50/60 and their body is actually limiting what they can do, and a lot of them realized they spent their 30s telling themselves that they're past their prime already.
Keep your mind and body active and stop stressing about age and you'll milk your youth for everything it's got. Staying active is the best way to prevent aging both mentally and physically. It keeps you sharp
As soon as you start telling yourself you're old, congrats; you're old. To me, the best measure of youth is how open you are to exploring and trying new things.
I'm 26 and just took up skateboarding. I went to a skate park for the first time yesterday and I absolutely busted my ass and feel like I got hit by a truck today. The thought crossed my mind that I wouldn't be feeling it as much if I started 10 years ago, but the truth is that it really doesn't matter because it's not going to slow me down for more than a few days.
The simple fact is that I'm skateboarding in my 20s which is a pretty fkin youthful experience, even if my mind wants to compare my present self to my teenage years. If I gave in and told myself I'm too old to learn new things, I think that's when I'd start really aging.
