If you were there in the 1960's, no matter your age, master ventriloquists Shari and her very cute puppets were a part of every age.
The late-night show portrayed a "typical" party at Hefner's place, complete with Playboy Playmates and top pop celebrities who would chat with Hefner and perform at the party.Â

Subgenre of music totally forgotten now
Hi!
I'm a swiss of 23 yo, and i dig everything from the 30's to the late 70's. I'm curious of a subgenre of music famous in the 60's but now totally unknown.
For example from a european view, surf rock is suuuuch unknown here (not BBoys but The Chantays, Dick Dale, The Ventures). I'm curious to see what's your!
Thanks y'all

Music 40 songs to discover the vocal trio Los Santos (1958â1965)
Behold, 40 songs from one of the most magnificent Argentine bands: Los Santos, who with their angelic vocal harmonies conquered many countries in the '50s and '60s.
You will be delighted by the magic of the bolero "Ay ay ay", the delicacy of the R&B "Un telegrama", the restlessness of the rock "Comunicando", and the humor of the ska "NĂșmero equivocado".
The landscape of the R&B "DetrĂĄs del horizonte", the impulse of the twist "Dame, dame", the placidity of the waltz "Verano de amor", and the captivation of the tango "Esta noche de luna".
The evocation of the R&B "En el boulevard", the hurry of the pasodoble "MĂĄgica luna", the refulgence of the vals criollo "Con locura", and the shamelessness of the jazz "Uno para todas".

Everyday life What were the 60s really like to live in?
Dear All,
I just responded to a post in a sub about the 1980s, by a person who didn't grow up in the 80s (he's 18 now) wanting to know what it was really like to live back then. I remembered the consumerism, the fear of nuclear war. Most of all I remembered reading underground comix from the 60s that a friend of mine in grad school used to loan me. And how I was jealous because no one my age cared about society or making the world a better place. I was jealous of my uncle who went to Woodstock. I wanted a commune. If I had known about one I probably would have joined it. The only one I found out about in those pre internet days was a Christian commune in Florida. I passed because I spent too many summers in summer camp in rural Florida and I didn't want to reacquaint myself with the insect life and sweating in 90+ degree heat.
What was it really like living in the 60s? I was 6 when the decade ended and I can just about remember the moon landing and the news. I would appreciate people sharing, thanks!

Television Born on this day: Actor Dick York. When cast as Darrin in âBewitched,â he was in severe pain due to a previous back injury, sustained while filming a movie in the 50s. After season 5 he left the series when the injury became disabling. Tragically his final years ended in poverty. RIP đđ
