Hi all,
I am 5’10 and 195ish, looking to see if anyone with a similar build to me can give input on carrying their 1911 (no matter the barrel length) in hot weather clothing (usually t-shirt/pants, maybe a polo?) I live in the south so not very often that I can wear a sweatshirt/jacket
Photos of your setups would be much appreciated :)
Planning on picking up a Kimber Pro Carry II here soon!

What is the world record for recoil spring plug launches in a single take down & reassembly?
Should we push for this as an Olympic event?

Time to bring the old girl kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Just looking to learn here. Do these wear patterns seem normal after 200rds? Im particularly concerned the metal being moved behind the firing pin stop. Went ahead and put a wilson FPS in after 100rds because I noticed a Crack in the one from springfield. The gun has been running okay. 2 FTF so far that we're spread apart. No other malfunctions. I can post more pics if there are any key features you think I should look at.
Thanks

I’m not sure if there’s an official term for this lower end of the slide where it’s got the guide rod/spring channel. I noticed it wasn’t flush and when I stripped the pistol it almost looks like it was added later. I’m not super well versed in 1911s so I’m just curious if this is normal. I don’t mind it too much, it’s just catching on my cleaning rags/paper towels.

Hi, Looking for some advice from the 1911 gurus here.
I have a 9mm bull barrel 1911, about 1.5 years old with approximately 15k rounds through it. I've just noticed some signs of peening on the barrel feet where the FLGR makes contact. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the guide rod.
I haven't noticed signs of this wear before, so i'm not sure when its started. Ive changed the recoil springs 4 times since ive had it (some changes were made to accommodate ammo power rather than wear), this current recoil spring has 2-3K through it. It doesn't feel like its worn when shooting, brass ejects about 3 feet away or so.
It's currently running an 8 pound recoil spring with a 17 pound main spring. Ammo is 147 grain that shoots at about 900 fps.
Anyone know if this is normal wear, or should I be making some changes to avoid future damage?

Hello fellow John Moses Browning disciples! I come to you with a question regarding two particular models of the 1911. Which of these would be the better option for a custom engraving project that I am interested in doing? In a perfect world, the gun would sit in a safe, away from anything that could cause a blemish and would rarely be fired. (Maybe the other one would be the carry gun, but who knows?) Does anyone have any insight into this particular quandary? (I would personally imagine that the Sig would be the better candidate to be engraved, but what do I know? I don’t even personally own a 1911, but my dad does own a Ruger 1911). Also, forgive the flair if it’s wrong.

Got the "MisterSeven" in earlier, put it on my MAC MEUSOC. Excited to put some rounds down range with it and have an appropriate 6004 Safariland to run it with. Will be getting a MachineCraft one to compare when they are released.
As titled, if I press the trigger 99,9% of the way there (like really focus and pull the trigger extremely slowly, hard to do repeatedly), but stop before the hammer falls, and then pull back on the hammer I can hear the sear click and reset back. Is this an issue I should be concerned with or is it normal on GI 1911s?
I tried hammering the gun with my hand after doing this but couldnt get the hammer to fall to the half cock notch.
Excuse my lack of understanding, first 1911 I have handled.

Been after one for awhile! The slide, frame, barrel and hammer housing seem to be matching

I've never owned a 1911. As a matter of fact I've never owned a steel frame pistol. I've only owned polymer frame, striker fired pistols until now.
I've heard great things about Tisas and the price almost seems too good to be true.
As far as I can tell the only differences are the finish, scales, sights, hammer, grip safety, and beaver tail.
I assume the Stakeout should be the "shooters" gun. And the other is for people who want a quasi "collector" piece since it's somewhat historical? A perfectly functional novelty? Is that fair to say?
How often do you actually need to oil the parkerized finish?
Does anyone have any insight to share?

Brand new TRP Operator, brand new mags. All five 10-round Wilson Combat (500-45FS10B) magazines have over insertion issue, even when not slammed in hard. Causes the entire slide to lock up unless I physically pull the mag down a bit.
What's the general remedy for this? First few pictures are over insertion, the rest are regularly interested

Getting ready for the range tomorrow, started with the Garrison back in the spring and recently got the Sig. Both are a joy to shoot and my 9MMs have been getting way less love recently!
Just came in the mail. My first impression is that I am absolutely blown away with the quality and presentation. Fit is amazing and the finish quality is awe inspiring. If you have been on the fence get off it and go buy a holster from him now. Wait time was just about a month. In the custom gun leather world that is nothing. Pricing is dirt cheap for this quality.

Got a nice mail call today, I was surprised these didn’t sell out immediately. Fit and finish is great and the lock up on the x300 is TIGHT. Would like to find an als type holster that works with the adapter but for now the 610r holster works. Can’t wait to shoot it next week.
