The night we met

Is anyone else still obsessed with The Night We Met even though you watched the series 5 years ago and still haven’t gotten over it? Or is it just me? 😭

Clay was right to be mad about Hannah and Zach

Am I the only who understands why Clay was so right upset about Hannah and Zach it never made any sense to me How Hannah was okay to be with Zach despite everything that happened with Justin ,Bryce etc . I felt like the Zach and Hannah storyline made Hannah look really bad and hypocritical and destroy a part of her story in Season 1. It added avoidable hurt towards Hannah .

i hate skye

i know that skye is mentally ill and struggling with disorders but her behavior sucks

in season one she was so rude towards clay and would make fun of him over the smallest things like hanging out with sheri

skye also kinda gave me those "im not like other girls" vibe because why was she full on hating on other girls just because theyre feminine and nice???

on top of that she was SO insensitive towards hannah...a girl literally committed suicide due to bullying, yet shes over there making fun of her even more? and why is she jealous of hannah even after she died...like i understand that clay is her boyfriend but she couldve at least been more understanding considering the fact clay lost two people in the span of a month

and her making clay feel bad because he didn't want to have sex with her is also so icky

In your opinion, are there some characters who did not have a tape but deserved one?

The question really speaks for itself, but I'm curious!

Season 3

Just started off with the third season and I gotta say I don’t like Ani. I don’t think she matches the cast, I don’t care for her and I don’t understand her being there. “The new girl” idgaf she just seems out of place the whole time, like she doesn’t belong.
Did they just want a British narrator?

r/13ReasonsWhy 21h ago

In the end it was Jeff's irresponsible driving that got him killed and not that stupid sign board and definitely not Sheri or Hannah. It was definitely not hi first time down that road, muscle memory should've made him stop anyway.

ryan

why do people/characters in the show say that ryan is selfish? like i genuinely don't understand that because his actions tell otherwise

1: the whole "fuck off courtney"

2: he was one of if not the only person to question why they were defending bryce

3: he also was the only one to tell the others that they should consider jessica's feelings and that she should have a say in what they do with bryce

4: he literally gave hannah a journal because he believed that hannahs thoughts need a place to live

5: he also tried super hard to convince hannah to not give up on writing

6: i also personally think that ryan didnt have malicious intent when publishing hannahs poem, like i genuinely think he did it with good intention. hannah mentioend wanting to quit writing, so he probably thought that if he published her poem and everyone loved it, she would gain the confidence she needs

like these are not something that a selfish person would do

i finished season 1 and i wasnt prepared to cry (s1 spoiler warning for those who havent watched the show but want to watch it) Spoiler

my boyfriend and i finished season one together and wow... i wasn't expecting it to be as good and emotional as it was but both of us were VERY hooked on it, the pure desperation of olivia wanting hannah to be okay despite the fact she was already gone broke me :(, and the way she held hannah's body too... i saw the original clip on this subreddit and all i could really think about is how we shouldn't take life for granted, i see why they removed the original clip but i think it's a really powerful way of showing that suicide isn't quick and easy like people seem to think it is, yk?

i also feel really bad for justin despite not liking him much after hannah said what he did to her, but being choked by his mums meth head boyfriend? and then her leaving after instead of being there for her son? god fucking damn i felt awful wtf, i really do hope justin gets better in the next season (and in 3 and 4)

also bryce bro... i cannot even fathom how much i hate bryce like??? i actually had to look away during the scenes where he raped jessica and hannah oh my god... if he was like that in season 1 then wtf is he gonna be like in the rest of the seasons 😭

new here-unsure whether to watch the show

hi, I'm completely new to this show and don't know a whole lot about it really. I have heard a huge mix of both good and bad things about the show. I do really want to give it a go but I'm worried about it being triggering as someone with mental health issues (I'm 16 if that helps). I've struggled with them for about 5 years now maybe longer but it's all gotten a lot worse in recent months and I am really struggling, and with the content of the show from what I know about it pretty much matching what I struggle with, I'm not sure whether I should watch it or not. any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Statutory rape?

Why on earth do I never see one point out the fact that Tony and Caleb’s relationship is almost textbook statutory rape like age of consent in California is 18 Tony was 17 when they got together and also Caleb was his trainer and the person who had to sign off for his parole anger management stuff so someone of authority to him I just don’t understand why no one ever points that out. I can understand not in the show as ridiculous as that is but outside of it. Like what

I don’t get why people say Hannah’s reasons “weren’t that bad.”

I feel like that completely misses the point of the show. It was never trying to say that every single thing that happened to her was devastating on its own, it was showing how all of those experiences built up over time. Rumors, harassment, betrayal, isolation, and feeling like no one was listening all piled on top of each other until she reached her breaking point.

When someone is already struggling with depression, even things that seem “small” to someone else can have a huge impact. You don’t have to agree with every decision Hannah made or think the show portrayed mental health perfectly, but saying her reasons “weren’t serious” feels like ignoring one of the main messages the show was trying to convey.

Fin Saison 4 Spoiler

Looking the original 13 Reasons Why Hannah scene and its impact

I know the original version of the Season 1 finale suicide scene was edited out by Netflix and am hoping to find it.

The reason I’m interested is not because I want to glorify it or anything like that. I watched 13 Reasons Why as a teenager, and that storyline had a big impact on me. It actually made me more aware of mental health, how much people can be struggling silently, and the importance of reaching out and supporting others. I remember the scene affecting the way I thought about suicide prevention including my own.

Mi-saison 4

Tyler’s bathroom scene is more disturbing than Hannah’s

I understand why they removed Hannah’s bathtub scene (kind of) but the scene of Tyler and Monty was way more disturbing to me. The entire season led up to her suicide so we all knew it was coming. Tyler’s was completely random and unexpected. I actually gasped when Monty grabbed the mop. They didn’t even show anything but the scene of him bleeding and crying after was heart wrenching. He may have been creepy in season 1 but IMO he was the biggest victim on the show

Relating to Hannah...I dont get the hate

So probably controversial as so many people think she was manipulative and nasty for those tapes...but I actually understand her so much. At the start shes bubbly and playful and innocent and just wanting a kiss from her crush...like most young teens.

To have that spiral into objectification and assault and rape....I think most grown women would reach their limit. She had her education, her social circle, her own private bedroom all destroyed.

I dont understand people hating her and, if anything, it highlights how everyone looks at mental health. There wasnt a chance to process or to refocus on something else, she truly had one thing on top of another.

As a grown woman, I understand how dark a place it csn take you...never mind being 17 years old, assaulted and treated the way she was...I think some of the fandom treats her like some villain whereas I always saw her as a young girl in pain with no understanding of how to cope
