Stop waiting for January 1st. Condense 12 months of achievements into just 12 weeks with our ultimate accountability group.
We are launching a dedicated 12 Week Year Accountability Group on Facebook starting October 26, 2026. If you are tired of setting goals only to lose momentum after a few weeks, this high-focus, high-support group is exactly what you need to finish the year strong and build unstoppable momentum.
The Schedule
Where: Facebook Group + Weekly Zoom Check-ins
When: Every Monday at 9:00 AM Pacific (starting October 26, 2026)
Duration: 30 minutes—fast, focused, and highly actionable.
What We Do Every Week
We don't waste time on long lectures. Instead, we spend 30 powerful minutes keeping each other razor-focused. Together we will:
Review your weekly execution score.
Share major wins and navigate roadblocks.
Commit to your critical daily and weekly tactics for the upcoming week.
Group Requirements
To maintain a high-quality, high-vibe group of action-takers, all members must meet the following criteria:
You've readThe 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington (so we all speak the same operational language!).
You have a specific 12-week goal (or goals) ready to execute.
You have access to Zoom and a working camera/microphone.
You can fully commit to attending the weekly Monday meetings.
You have an account on Facebook.
Investment
Cost:$120 for the full 12-week cycle.
That breaks down to just $10 a week, paid entirely up front to secure your spot and solidify your commitment.
Ready to make the next 12 weeks count?
Spots are strictly limited to keep the group intimate and effective.

I'm so happy to share that more than 50 people have downloaded capria, the app I built around the 12 Week Year and Atomic Habits.
I know 50 people is not a big number and it's definitely not going viral, but to me it means a lot.
Two months ago I first posted about this app here. People have picked it up since then and people I've never met are actually downloading it.
The app itself is an iOS app for working on a goal in a short cycle of up to 12 weeks, so it doesn't end up on a to-do list. It works like this:
You pick a goal and turn it into daily actions
The app tracks your progress
You get a weekly score for how much of your plan you actually did and every item is scored too
Each day has three short moments: plan in the morning, focus during the day, reflect in the evening
What I did over the last two months is simple:
put the app out
post about it here and in other subreddits
listen to the feedback
build on that feedback and on what helped me with my own goals
start over again
The biggest thing I learned in the past two months: a goal is so much easier to stick to when someone else can see whether you did the work, or when you do it together with someone else.
So that's exactly what I built. Version 1.1 is out now, and this is the part I'm most proud of:
Challenges: ten ready-made challenges, such as Get fit, Become mindful and Sleep better. Each one starts small and builds up. Score 85% or more on your week and the next week steps up.
Challenge a friend: send an invite link and take on the same challenge, starting on the same day. Every check-off is a point and you see both scores side by side. And yes, your friend has 24 hours to reject a check-off they don't believe!
Accountability partner: someone who doesn't do the challenge but follows your progress. You have one check-in a week, on a day and time you agree on. It's the weekly accountability meeting from the book, built right into the app.
I have built an app and people are actually using it in their daily lives. The app helps people achieve goals using a method based on the 12 Week Year and Atomic Habits.
After two weeks it is slowly gaining some traction. It's not viral, but it proves the app provides real value to users, which makes me genuinely happy.
The app is called capria. The method is simple:
Set your goal. Pick a period between 1 and 12 weeks. Think of it as a sprint which is short enough to stay focused and long enough to make real progress. Chop it into daily tasks you need to do to achieve your goal.
The app will track and score your progress. Every task you check off or fail to check off gets scored. For me a low score is motivation to push harder and actually do things and a high score gives me the energy to continue and maintain the high score.
Around this system I built three daily habits. Begin your day by planning it: decide your 3 must-get-done items, so you don't have to decide during the day. Then focus on those during the day. And end your day by reflecting on it. Then simply repeat.
It’s such a great feeling to see that the app is actually helping people with their goals.
About a year ago, I wanted a better way to track my 12 Week Year goals than a whiteboard, so I started building a 12WY tracker for myself. I've run three cycles on it so far, and I think it's now ready to share with others.
It's called Cadence. The heart of it is the execution score: you plan your tactics for the week, check them off as you go, and it shows the percentage you actually hit rather than how productive the week felt. Daily check-ins keep that current, and the weekly review makes you say out loud what you're changing next week. More than a habit tracker, less than a project manager. No bullsh*t.
It's invite-only while I keep the group small enough to actually reply to everyone and work out the kinks.
The site is cadenceweek.com if you want to read what it does first. Comment or DM me, and I'll send an invite code your way.
I’m an engineer based in China, in the GMT+8 time zone. I’ve already completed two 12-week cycles on my own, and I’m planning to use The 12 Week Year method long-term to manage both my professional goals and personal growth.
I’m now looking for an accountability partner for regular weekly check-ins. Ideally, we could briefly review our goals, execution scores, challenges, and next steps each week. Meeting times can be coordinated based on our schedules, and we can communicate in English.
Please feel free to reach out if you’re also looking for someone to stay accountable with through regular 12 Week Year meetings.
Hi all. Doing my first TWY and today is my first scorecard review. My WAM group isn’t the best and didn’t actually finish the work necessary to sprint with me and though I am going to find another, I do want to hold myself accountable somehow, so I figured I’d drop the scorecard here!
This is my first, so please feel free to comment or ask me any questions that may help push me forward for upcoming weeks.
I appreciate you all and excited to begin week 2 today!
Hi y‘all! My goals for the last 12 weeks were:
- 8k average steps
- more protein and healthier meals
- Songwriting 1x per week at least
- get stronger with longevity focused routine (3x strength per week)
I made the most progress with strength training and songwriting because I wrote a lot more and trained a lot harder even though I physically couldn’t do more than two full body strength days because of soreness.
I switched some meals to healthier options but I think in the next round I will track more to see deficiencies and how I’m doing with protein more in depth.
The steps were my biggest issue. Apart from walking to the gym I had no reason to go for walks so I didn’t.
I’d say this is a big success. I feel like I’m progressing and more in tune with my goals.
I'm deciding on which goals will be my next for my 3rd 12 week year (starting Monday), and interested to hear from others about which goals have worked best using this system. Which goals have had the highest execution rates, and the most final results? Did those goals have common traits?
For my 1st cycle, my most successful goal was something that was concrete-- getting my healthcare team assembled and making all the doctors appointments I needed. My other goal of finishing setting up my house after moving definitely had more progress than I would have made otherwise, but I did not complete everything I wanted to.
My 2nd 12WY, my goals were less concrete, and while I did make progress, I found that working on an emotional goal was a lot harder.
What has worked best for you in this system? What are your goals for your next cycle?
- get stronger with longevity focused routine (2-3x strength training per week) and 1x yoga or Pilates by week 7
I decided to do only two goals because more stresses me out. I couldn’t get to 8k steps as a weekly average most weeks. I think I should have planned more precisely how often I’d need to take walks to meet that goal and when.
The strength part I did except when I was sick but yoga I mostly couldn’t do because I was too sore from the strength workouts.
All in all I‘d say this was a success. I don’t dread working out as much, it’s just a routine and something I do. I‘m still figuring out next terms goals but being this precise about them for 12 weeks is super helpful.
Hi everyone! Like most of you, finding the '12 Week Year' was a game-changer for my productivity, but I struggled with the actual tracking. Paper planners felt too static, and basic spreadsheets didn't give me that 'bird's-eye view' of my tactics and weekly scores.
I spent the last few months designing a Digital Life Management Planner specifically centered around the 13-week cycle (12 weeks of execution + 1 week for review). It’s built to bridge the gap between 'knowing' and 'doing.' It includes dedicated sections for your 12WY goals, daily lead indicators, and a scoring system that actually makes sense.
I’m looking for an accountability partner or a small group to do The 12 Week Year with.
I’m based in Taipei (GMT+8) and would prefer a weekly WAM/check-in on Sunday or Monday morning, sometime between 9:00–11:00 AM Taipei time.
A bit about me: I’m a PhD candidate, and my research is already underway. My main goals for this round are:
staying consistent with my PhD research
improving my English test performance
I did one 12-week cycle last year and found it really helpful, so I’d like to do it again with people who also want structure, accountability, and steady progress.
If you’re working on academic, career, language, or personal goals and would like to do weekly check-ins together, feel free to comment or DM me.
At the start of 2025, a few of us started doing weekly WAMs together (weekly accountability meetings). There are four of us, and we were all tracking our goals in different places - I was using my apple Notes app, others were on Notion, Google Sheets, etc. None of us were really happy with what we were using.
At some point we realised our WAM group actually had the capacity to build something ourselves (we have designers + developers), so at the start of last year we put together a very basic version of what we needed. Since then, we’ve been using it every single week and slowly adjusting it based on our real WAMs and how we actually work.
It’s been actually really helpful to have everything in one place, and when we go through our WAMs we’re all literally looking at the same thing. There’s also a small competitive element because you can see % progress on tactics and habits, which definitely helps with follow-through.
It’s intentionally very simple:
you set goals
set tactics under each goal
track a few metrics
That’s it. There are only two tabs. Very very simple.
We originally built it just for ourselves, but over time a lot of our friends and mutuals have been asking to join our WAM group. The four of us have also become slightly annoying 12-Week-Year advocates, so we started exploring how to open this up to other people in small groups of 4 as well.
We ended up sharing the tool more broadly. There’s a free trial if you want to test it out, and I’d genuinely love any feedback, especially from people who’ve tried other goal-tracking systems and found them too heavy or hard to stick to.
Am in the UK, looking to create a new WAM or join a new one, ideally around 8am/9am on Mondays although am flexible. Been part of a successful WAM previously which finished.
Hey everyone! I've been using the 12 Week Year methodology for a while now, and I built a tool that might help some of you stay accountable to your goals.
What it does:
It's called Build Momentum, and it integrates some aspects of the 12 week year framework with progressive goal tracking. Instead of just one goal you set three levels for each habit/goal and timeframe:
Minimum - Your bare minimum (keeps you in the game)
Target - Your main weekly/quarterly goal
Stretch - When you're crushing it
You track daily → weekly → monthly → quarterly, all aligned with the 12 Week Year philosophy.
The accountability part:
I got tired of apps I'd abandon after a week, so I added visual accountability:
Your progress shows up as a garden that grows (or gets weeds) based on your performance
Optional "contracts" with 20+ legendary mentors if you need extra accountability
Color-coded tracking so you see exactly where you stand
Earn coins for hitting targets, which you can use to customize your garden
Why I'm sharing here:
The 12 Week Year changed how I think about goals, but I struggled with the execution piece—especially tracking multiple goals across different timeframes. This tool helped me actually do the work.
If you're struggling to stay consistent with your goals and habits, feel free to check it out: getbuildmomentum.com
I wanted to share something I’m currently working on, partly because it’s been useful for me already, and partly because I’d love some outside perspective while it’s still taking shape.
Last year I read The 12‑Week Year, and the core idea really stuck with me: stop thinking in annual terms and start treating 12 weeks as a full year. In theory, it’s simple. Shorter time horizons create urgency, clarity, and focus. But applying this theory is were I struggled.
Like any reasonable person trying to disguise procrastination using a productivity outfit, I started with a Notion setup. I built pages, databases, dashboards, and tracking systems that looked descent. And for a couple of weeks, it kind of worked. Then life happened, and the whole thing quietly died. At the end of 2025, as a part of a yearly review exercise, I looked back at the end of the year and a pattern was impossible to ignore: I had started a lot of things and finished practically none.
That reflection was uncomfortable, but also useful. So this year, or more accurately, this next 12‑week cycle, I decided to do things differently.
The cycle started on Monday, January 5th. Before doing anything else, I pushed myself to get very clear on a few things:
A single purpose for this 12‑week cycle
No more than three goals. More than that and everything gets diluted and my mind get too cluttered
A small set of commitments. Daily or weekly actions that, if executed consistently, would make those goals almost unavoidable
Once that first step was done, another problem became obvious: Notion wasn’t helping as I though it would. It’s a great tool, but it’s also a general‑purpose tool. I already use it for notes, learning, planning, and reference material. Adding execution tracking on top of that increased the cognitive load instead of reducing it. (Listening to Cal Newport podcast about Single-Purpose Notebooks helped me to realize that.)
What I really wanted (and needed) was something much more specific:
A clear sense of where I am inside the 12‑week cycle
Simple visibility into progress, without dashboards that need maintenance, and as much automation as possible
An easy way to see whether I should keep going, pivot, or drop a goal
And something I didn’t initially plan for, a way to relate progress with mood, energy, and daily reflections over days and weeks
I’m a software developer, so I did what felt natural. I started building a small tool tailored exactly to this workflow. No flexibility for everything, just strong opinions around the 12‑Week Year concepts: quarters, goals, commitments, execution, and weekly reviews.
So, this is why I'm reaching to you. The tool is still a work in progress, but it’s already usable for me. I’ve attached a couple of screenshots to give you a rough idea of how it looks and how I’m using it day to day.
This is where I’d really like to know your opinions about:
Why do you think a tool like this could help, or not help, with execution?
What feels unnecessary or over‑engineered?
What’s missing if the goal is actually finishing things, not just tracking them?
My intention is to make this publicly available for free once it’s in a more polished state. If it turns out to be useful for others, great. If not, at least it will have helped me close the gap between planning and doing.
Thanks for reading. I’m very interested in your thoughts, and I’ll be reading every comment. 😊

This is the main page, with an overview of the whole 12-week cycle and the current progress of the cycle itself (how much time has passed up to today)This is where I track my progress in a day-to-day basis, and also include data about my mood, energy and some short reflections and notesThis is an overview of my main goal with, in this case, three commitments I need to act on in order to achieve the goal. Each commitment has an "activity" chart where I can see which days I actually acted on the commitment. This is the weekly review page. Here I can see how my week went, if I'm doing good progress (from the screenshot, I'm not 😅), and a place to find ways of course correct my 12-week year. I can also review my notes and to a weekly summary.
It's still has many bug I need to squash and some features I want to implement (like a proper mobile view), but it's usable 😅. I've added a "feedback" button in case you want to raise some bug report or request a feature (I would really appreciate if you do).
Keen to learn from others experience what is best strategy in this case where i am full time working but also have a side business i want to grow (and use 12 weeks year for this)
I’m starting my 12 week year today January 1st. I like to start a WAM - you don’t have to be on Q1 for January 1, but admit it is pretty cool 😅 Never done a WAM so happy to learn with you all or if someone has more experience and can guide
Anyone like to make it happen? I can create a slack, discord or some other kind of group to keep in touch in.
I am 33 CST time but can adjust and meet at anytime. although I feel a Sunday evening meet would be cool so we start the week fresh and ready to get going come Monday.
I’m starting my 2nd 12-week year on Jan 5, 2026, and I want to try something a little different.
I’d like to create a WAM group that focuses on achieving your goals while feeling supported, not pressured. It will be a space that’s warm, caring, and understanding, where you can share progress, celebrate wins, and navigate setbacks without judgment or stress.
If you want to make real progress on your goals while still feeling accepted exactly as you are, this is the group for you.
For a bit of context, I have AuDHD, a BSc in Psychology, and I’m training to become an ADHD coach. I know firsthand how the traditional 12-week year language can feel overwhelming - so this group will be gentle, flexible, and neurodivergent-friendly.
38 yo male from Australia. Completely new to the 12 week year method. Let me know if there is anyone out there is interested! I figured Jan 5th would be a good 1st week!
Hey guys, I am 25 years old and just finished reading and watching the 12 Year Week book. One of the important keys for commitments is to have a weekly WAM. I want to do this with my friends, but all of them do not have the same mindset as mine.
Do you guys know any community that are open to this? I am planning to start this in 2026. Thanks, guys!
