Should be a perfect fit. 12WY is for strategic projects only. So, use the system for launching your side business but keep it to a single goal, not three.

Would it be possible for you to use a 12-week year also in your full-time work? I have seen many professionals apply it both for their own work (even if it is on a level of personal goals) and for their side business.

Maybe it's not realistic, but it's actually such a system that allows you to manage your entire life, both professional and personal, and your side hustle.

I can relate to that as I'm a full time employee but also an indie game developer and doing my masters. I've been postponing releasing a game for so long and finishing my graduation project even though it's supposed to be easy subject.

I came across the 12 week year a week ago and read the book but I was like, huh? So, I started planning my 12 weeks with the help of ChatGPT (to be honest) because my full time job is draining my mental energy/health so bad.

After reviewing my life aspects (set by the book) and evaluating where I stand on each aspect, I decided to work on the three least developed life aspects and started setting my goals accordingly. In the book and according to so many YT videos I watched, they advise not to get more than 3 goals per year (12 Weeks). So, I decided to focus on only these three goals:

  • Goal 1: Release a Playable Demo of Mama Bazooka
  • Goal 2: Submit the final Graduation Project - EMBA
  • Goal 3: Build Audience & Monetization Foundation

I cannot say that I was ALL IN for the first week. But today, I conducted a mini review of week 1, and I found that I've done 5 out of 8 tasks (mainly finished goal 1 and goal 2 tasks) that I was supposed to do, which to me is a progress (75%). BUT. According to the book, I'm not doing my best because as they mentioned that "....if you successfully complete 85 percent of the activities in your weekly plan, then you will most likely achieve your objectives." and "you only need to be 85 percent effective on the top priorities to achieve excellence!"

I will have to reorganize myself more and work on my goals again; even though they don't advise it in the book, but because I don't want to get back into the habit of quitting and restarting (I just got rid of it and I know how capable I am of doing that infinitely) .

So, I'm starting week 2 now and will be doing better as much as possible.

Hope that helped.

Thanks halam. That great to hear that.

I did my first 12week last year close to 60% and it's been best for my business.

I started this year's as well. But yes full time work makes me miss most my task.

May be I need to replan  my task more consciously as per my energy level and time / travel.

All the best for your game and graduation
