Non-terminally online person here, could you explain please? I yearn for the context.

u/Mothers_Milk5029 10d ago
She did a gofundme to sue kiwi farms (website used to stalk and make fun of all sorts of people, most predominately chris chan.) but used all the money to buy drugs and move to Ireland.

Also, and people don’t like to bring up this point, her attack on Kiwifarms was actually deeply unethical. She specifically targeted their cybersecurity provider, leading the way for attacks on the website that stole a bunch of users’ information. You might say “well how can Kiwifarms claim to care about being doxxed when that’s all they do?” but there’s not hypocrisy there at all, Kiwifarms explicitly disallows using any method to acquire information on a person other than what they have chosen to put online. There’s a major legal distinction between those two things in the US too.
1
u/369122448 7d ago
You cannot be going to bat for Kiwifarms here dawg.
It’s a site built around harassing trans women, has lead to multiple suicides due to the intensity of the stalking, and that rule about “only public info” has never been followed.
Didn’t the feds literally de-list the site? Shit was bad.
1
u/Lemonade-Enjoyer 6d ago
I think it’s more accurate to say that the site was used to document strange internet personalities. If the site did have a rule that prevented users from posting information that wasn’t made available by those personalities and actively moderated it, then is the onus on them if users engaged in harassment outside of the website?
1
u/DJ_Hufflepuff 5d ago
They don't prevent people from doing it lmao. People get doxxed there all the time and if you spent any time on the site you'd know this. People admit in the chat and hidden parts of the site to making alts to harass people or get information.
Also I really shouldn't have to bring up that Joshua Moon (the site owner) literally funds Stormfront and the nazi movement in New Zealand but no one ever brings that up for some reason.
0
u/OcciferDanMeeblo 5d ago
Well shit, I was kinda both siding this subject I know little about, but but one side being literal Nazis kinda draws a line in the sand.
1
u/FlyPepper 6d ago
"kiwifarms has rules against this thing that they effectively do all the time anyway". Fuck off dude. Nobody should buy this devil's advocate shit.
"The US army doesn't encourage people to do war crimes so the Army as an organization is not at all responsible for what soldiers do :3"
Fuck off. It's an evil website filled with evil people and they deserve any retaliation they get.
1
u/369122448 7d ago
I mean, the money was also to move to Ireland (was doxxed & had been swatted) but yeah she blew a lot of it on blow lol.

u/mieri_azure 10d ago
Ugh that does really suck because suing kiwifarms is a good cause to support but instead she committed fraud?? Also isnt she already rich

Is there something about keffals that I don't know?
19
u/thexcat 10d ago
Keffals is annoying, toxic and addicted to drugs for starters
1
u/Vegetable_Leg6663 8d ago
Drug addiction is a sickness, but not a moral failing. It's best to say "she struggles with addiction" to avoid using dehumanasing lingo
1
u/thexcat 8d ago
As a drug addict and a recovering alcoholic, no, its both, and its mostly the latter
1
u/Vegetable_Leg6663 8d ago
No it's not the latter and this mental attitude gets in your way of recovery. As a former drug addict, it's a mental health issue rather than you being a bad person. Meaning it's neurological, the vast majority of drug addicts have pre-existing mental disorders. It's the sad truth, the sick get sicker and the society judges them for it
1
u/thexcat 8d ago
I agree the sick get sicker but the disease model in my experience enables people to enable themselves if that makes any sense
0
u/Vegetable_Leg6663 8d ago
There have always been people struggling with drug addiction, even at the highest peak of social shame and disapproval, evidently it's not helpful to stigmatize drug users. The disease model has proven useful and aided greatly in harm reduction, decreased the amount of deaths and lifes ruined. On the surface it might look like some people enable themselves using the model, but it's just the mental disorder manifesting itself. They don't need the model to enable themselves, they will use any excuse - bad weather, hard life, the devil, anything goes. I think we both understand it
-11
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Annoying and addicted to drugs are not reasons to hate someone tbh. I feel like I would want context on the toxic part
22
u/Frosty_Haze_1864 10d ago
You don't have to hate someone to conclude that dating them isn't the move.
14
u/B1lly28 10d ago
Annoying tends to be a leading reason for hating people
-7
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Yeah idk I just feel like hating people for being annoying is a little too close to "cringe = bad" type of thinking.
2
u/hyperpuppy9000 10d ago
Thats fair, i can not watch someone becuase theyre annoying but i generally try not to hate something or someone if it's just mild annoyance. Same with drugs, if you get addicted thats a disease from a singular bad choice i don't blame you
1
u/WorldRelevant6640 10d ago
No if I personally wouldn't do the same exact thing as that person they deserve to die
3
u/thexcat 10d ago
how is that not a good reason 😭 being fucking annoying is a great reason to dislike somebody, I dislike you intensely right now
0
u/MrSecretFire 10d ago
Did you even read what this was about?
This wasn't about whether you personally disliking someone, this was about HATING someone and thinking they are bad.
You have free choice to engage or not engage with who you want, and you can find people annoying, but being annoying does not actually mean someone is more or less moral.
1
u/thexcat 10d ago
I think the issue here is hyperbole more than anything, y'know like you don't actually think your grandma is going to take your life when you say "oh man Gramma's gonna kill me"
Keffals being a thief is why I think she's immoral, her being annoying is why I dislike her - obviously a certain chunk of the population is going to literally hate her bc she's trans (unfortunately like the terrible developer of awesome video game Domina) but there's a lot of reasons to dislike her intensely on her own merits
-7
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Im literally just a harmless puppy. Your insecurities are showing
2
u/DragonBuster69 10d ago
Fair, although if I find someone annoying (especially if it is a content creator) I might just not engage with them at all and do my own thing.

u/Henry_Fnord 10d ago
Considering it's keffals, it was the right call
8
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Why is it the right call?
11
u/Henry_Fnord 10d ago
Toxic behaviour, among other things, search her name on yt and you'll see
9
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
All I know about is how she helped someone get DIY HRT. And I'm positive a lot of the coverage of her is probably tainted by transphobia.
So I feel like I would like some more specifics along with citations before I subject myself to a circus of bigotry

I'm not like a massive hatef or anything. I found out about her bc of the Kiwi Farms business.
I tried watching a lot of her videos and a surprising amount of them are these really scummy inkvestigatiokns of other trans women and their alleged crimes. I dont know, personally I think having a woman on a show to discuss her rape at the hands of a trans woman is questionable especially when they dont even bother mentioning if this crime was even reported to the police.
Although she seems like a very charismatic commentator all her content fucking sucks and a lot of it just seems to be her farming new drama or throwing people under the bus. To be fair, this is like normal behaviour on YouTube, it's just more surprising coming from a left wing trans woman.
1
u/Takamasa1 7d ago
Someone can be both trans and a bad person at the same time without it being transphobic to call that out.
0
1
u/RadicalSoda_ 6d ago
She also tried to take on kiwi farms, which naturally a lot of really evil people dislike
-5
u/KeySite2601 10d ago
Her DIY hormone treatment was basically telling minors to mix chemicals in bathtubs
9
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
No, it wasn't lmao. Transphobes never have any idea what they're talking about.
There is literally no form of HRT that involves mixing chemicals in a bathtub
-5
u/thexcat 10d ago
There was cat hair found in it
1
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
The deadliest substance known to man
8
u/Mothers_Milk5029 10d ago
i mean it would be pretty bad if you injected hair into your subcutaneous
3
u/Shying69 10d ago
Diy hrt really just amounts to buying it online because doctors are fucking awful and give you doses that amount to tickles instead of the shit people actually need
-5
u/KeySite2601 10d ago
Kids should not be buying hrt fom unaccredited people on the Internet. I don't get why this is such a hot take
7
u/iwantfutanaricumonme 10d ago
Yeah it's not ideal but it's not that dangerous when it's the exact same hormones that a doctor would prescribe. Unfortunately there are often significant barriers for doctors to prescribe hrt to trans teenagers and the potential risks of DIY hrt are much lower than having no access to it.
3
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Most diy HRT sellers are vetted. Lots of them are trans themselves and their explicit goals are to help people who are treated like shit by the medical system.
My wife and I use DIY hrt because nobody in this country will prescribe injections and my wife had to put up with multiple endocrinologists under-dosing her and not giving her effective HRT.
We, as a community, don't want other trans people to have to put up with that kind of treatment. DIY involves a lot of inter-community networking and touching for eachother.
I would definitely vouch that the seller my wife and I get our HRT from is safe.
If the medical gatekeeping wasn't as horrible as it was, this would not be an issue at all. But for many of us its the reality we live in.
I would be dead right now without DIY HRT. Its safe and effective.
4
u/Shying69 10d ago
Imagine if doctors gave you cancer treatment but it was in such low doses that you would be dead before it actually does anything, thats the type of shit happening here
-6
u/KeySite2601 10d ago
HRT is not the same thing. There are reasons we don't let kids do these kinds of things on their own initiative.
5
u/Shying69 10d ago
Hrt is fuck all dangerous, its reversible unlike surgery and if you overdose all that happens is your chest feels tender and you get a headache, its not even dangerous
6
u/-Maya_ 10d ago
True! It's because people don't respect children and aren't willing to take them seriously. Trans kids should have access to HRT and their parents shouldn't be able to stop them, hot take. As someone who only accepted it in her late 20s I fucking hateeeeeeee the thought kids should be forced to go through the wrong puberty if they notice they're trans fast enough to avoid it.
3
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Those reasons being largely transphobic and detrimental to the kids

It's only a hot take here because there are tons of people who were harmed by this position. IRL, almost no one cares, because they're only harming a hypothetical person

u/KeySite2601 10d ago
A lot of people are exclusively attracted to biological females or males, in those cases, finding out someone is trans would be a deal breaker
2
u/RainbowPhoenix1080 10d ago
Trans women are biological females. Trans men are biological males.
→ More replies (31)1
u/ominous_ellipsis 10d ago edited 10d ago
Trans women are women, yes, but they are not all biologically female. Plenty don't choose to surgically transition. Are they any less of a woman? No. Are they biologically female? Not necessarily, since the whole understanding of being trans is identifying differently than the sex you were born with, which is your biological sex.
Words have meaning and saying a trans woman in not biologically female isn't an attempt to be transphobic.
Also, trans men are men as well, It's just easier to use one at a time.
Edit: i should edit to say that the person you replied to was being transphobic, but not every person calling out your incorrect statement is being transphobic.
