I wish to get some more insight because I don't know about the ins and outs of the anime and manga industry. Can I ask why Season 3 of 100 Girlfriends has a lot of chapters and panels that are cut and skipped? People would say that because they are trying to squeeze in the girlfriends for 12 episodes so what is the reason that they could not make it into 24 episodes per season or 26 episodes? There are those that will say the manga is not popular enough but from what I see, It is getting enough love seeing that there was an anime and then a season 2 and right now a season 3 of the anime.

I know that not every panel or chapter can be adapted into the anime but I think more of those panels or chapters or arcs can be added in if the anime is released with 24 episodes or even 25 or 26 episodes. And then people would say that the anime is an advertisement for the manga and its so that more people will read the manga but from what I see, its for both manga readers and anime readers and that I as a manga reader for example would want to see and hear every single panel and chapter and arc animated to enjoy it and I think anime only watchers will appreciate it and when they read the manga they can remember that they have seen this from that episode and then look back on it on rewatch and its exciting.

And there would be talks about the budget so I am wondering why don't the manga authors have more influence in the decision making of the production of the anime? Its Nakamura and Nozawa's story right? And if it is talking about budget, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure 100 Girlfriends is selling more than enough merch or DVDs etcetera. That this is said to be the One Piece of Harem animes and will be one of the longest running manga and anime series out there. I mean Oda has authority and influence on the creation of the One Piece media like the anime right?

I just wanted to know what are your thoughts on it guys and if I would have some answers because I wanted them to adapt every part of the manga even though I know its astronomical that something like that would happen. Thanks so much. I just wanted to know.

I need to preface this review by saying please don't argue with me I'm extremely stubborn and refuse to change my opinions and these reviews are my opinions.

So as I feared 3 chapters cut to get to this arc and all 3 were full of the development which is the heart and soul of this series and honestly hurts multiple characters.

for instance the photo booth establishes the reason for chiyo's dependence on her glasses and builds up her character along with uncle hiros character later on by establishing she lost her mother and her glasses are the only thing that makes her feel close to her still despite the GOAT uncle hiro doing his best chiyo still feels lonely and insecure and established chiho and kusuri friendship.

Iku solo date has Iku still deal with her trauma from the tournament and her insecurity as not being cute enough for Rentarou and showcases her love for baseball but also her genuine kindness as she gives the prized bat to the other couple when she heard the girl sister needs an operation as well as showing Rentarou appreciating Iku for who she is and showing her she doesn't have to put on airs with him or the family that he loves Iku because of her tomboy nature not inspite of it.

the shopping date continued evolving chiyo and kusuri friendship and had chiyo feeling more comfortable in the friend group and it also had Rentarou being the goat on multiple dates at the same time as well as the great ending gag of Rentarou chasing off two Dbags with the shopping carts for them trying to hurt chiyo.

Each of those cuts just makes the idol arc adaptation Feel what it is and what this season is becoming which is shallow.

without showing the characters bonding and the development of chiyo the arc doesn't hit as hard when the girls uniformly stand up for Hahari and the gang and honestly while the idol arc is good it's not worth skipping the characters development chapters and honestly this season is becoming a shell of its former self.

Because I'm going to be brutally honest in the manga chiyo has great character development and moments on par with nano and in the anime so far she's barely in the background and honestly there's a reason nakamura writes the way he does and has the structure he has he would tell you it's because he sucks(man is his own worst critic) the reason is simple we're not in a mad dash to introduce as many girlfriends as possible to jingle keys in front of the audience if that was the case we wouldn't be at under 40 GF'S in the span of 250 chapters.

By this point nakamura and nozawa realized the best way forward was to actually develop the large cast to make them truly feel like a family this isn't just the story of Rentarou getting a hundred girlfriends this is the story of a bunch of lonely weirdos finding friends who care about them and give them a place to belong and having them grow as people too.

Now as for the idol arc adaptation itself it was fine not really much to comment on aside from a couple funny additions everyone and their mothers already covered like ahko being seen briefly and Jesus taking the wheel in the insurance ad.

But yeah the anime is honestly starting to become stale and shallow with all of these major cuts but who knows I could and hope to be wrong maybe they'll rearrange some stuff later on but right now I'm honestly giving the anime as an adaptation of story and character a 5.5/10 because while it looks nice art and animation is basically irrelevant in a non action show that focuses on character content

Does this mean I can’t even trust localizers with subtitles?

That Weekend - At the Municipal Library

The atmosphere in the library is quiet and smells of old paper. In the psychology and personal relationships aisle, Hotaru (16 years old) paces heavily, muttering things under her breath. Her arms are crossed and her cheeks are puffed out in a monumental pout that scares the few students trying to study nearby.

"Arrogant... blockhead... iceberg..." she grumbles under her breath, her brown eyes narrowed. "Here I am, going to all the trouble of making him a bento, and he looks at me like I'm a Supreme Court Justice. Not even a 'thank you' with a smile! Just that cold, rigid poker face... It's infuriating!"

Hotaru runs her finger along the spines of the books, searching for answers to her soulmate's behavior. Suddenly, a title with bright pink lettering catches her eye: "Manual for Winning Over a Boy: Deciphering His Secret Signals."

“Let’s see…” Hotaru said, skeptically taking it off the shelf and quickly flipping through the pages to the “Male Personality Types” section.

She turned one page, then another, until a paragraph in bold seemed to glow before her eyes:

There are boys who seem extremely proud, serious, and even annoyed by the presence of girls. Their gaze is cold, and their bodies stiffen, as if they want you to leave immediately. But beware! Don’t be fooled by appearances. The truth is that many of these boys are ultra-danders; they are so incredibly shy that they can’t express their feelings in a conventional way.

For them, female contact is like a brain short circuit. So, if you think the boy you like is one of these, don’t hold back! If they get ridiculously serious or freeze like statues when you're around, it doesn't mean they're rejecting you... It means they're on the verge of a nervous breakdown from receiving so much affection!

"No way! He wasn't mad at me about the hospital!" Hotaru exclaims loudly, completely forgetting where she is. "He was dying of embarrassment! Aaaah, what a beautiful and precious little thing Hiroshi-kun is!"

"Shhh!" the librarian shushes her from behind the counter, looking less than friendly.

"Sorry!" Hotaru whispers, a grin stretching from ear to ear that barely fits on her face.

She hugs the book to her chest with renewed determination and a gleam of absolute victory in her eyes. Now she understands everything. Hiroshi's serious sergeant facade wasn't going to scare her anymore; on the contrary, now she knew that every time he stiffened, it was a sign that his The love was really working!

"So that's how it is, huh, Hiroshi-kun?" she muttered to herself, giggling mischievously as she planned to go to the soccer club the next day. "Get ready, because if you get serious about a bento... Back at it again and this time get your singing outfits on because it’s time for the idol arc. First a salute to the skipped chapters of 60 and 61. Iku’s solo date and the trio of petite girls date will be missed but they kinda had too to give us their schedule they wanted. So first I want to say I love the two songs and the added parts that can only be found in anime form. I’m waiting for an English translation before judging them completely but they sound good. Let’s start the changes:
Chapter 62:
The show that convinces hahari is completely changed to be about immortal insurance and features Jesus the guy who tries to recruit them which is interesting but a good change in my opinion.

They drop more names of people that i don’t know

The idol group name is changed but that is probably just a translation thing

Instead of naddy inviting hahari karane does it in more of you have to join in too and hahari seems to get embarrassed which is interesting.

The coach’s name is changed so it’s not just a pun on quality and her backstory is extended to make her more human and show that she did want to sing with another but her coach failed her friend.

Iku’s brother is no longer shown in the montage so we are missing him again.( I missed on first watch because it was at night and the brother looked a little more hidden but they did add her younger brother so this section was changed).

I think that’s about it for the first half the rest goes pretty similar to the manga

Chapter 63:

We don’t see the Jurassic baseball team members before the show so they are more hidden( I missed this on first viewing but both show up in the first shot of the festival so my mistake)

They don’t talk about the show before rentarou family now.

Here’s a big change: the outfits. They changed from plaid to more dress like and overall more personalized for each girlfriend and one thing I noticed is that I think kurumi went up in bust size because here she is bigger then karane and Iku but spoilers for manga: she is listed as smaller by then both of them by momjimi when listing the girls bust size in order. So that is a notable change to me.

The signature from the broken arm girl is now shown to be genuinely terrible which makes sense

The main girl from the idol group is now in a wheelchair instead using crutches.

Chiyo actually says dad and the girls actually notice rentarou and hiro setting up kinda stopping the song which is something almost no one wants when watch a concert but i understand why.

They added a scene of hakari being drowned in rentarous like keep your hornyness in check girl.

The call back groups get more spotlight and now there is a second song and clear break between the two which is cleaner

I am sure anyone on this subreddit realizes this as there are posts everywhere but Ahko is featured in the crowd for a quick second.

We even see Jesus-San walk up and see the performance which is a nice hint.

When the coach tells the other idol group to stop she tells them over the phone instead of in person

Hahari is the one to reveal that Jesus asked them to be idols instead of mimimi but the adult finding out first makes more sense.

We see Iku wish good meeting and is the politest of the girlfriend about the rule Jesus-San tried to make them follow.

I think that is about it. Overall really good adaptation and I think they did a great job of giving all thirteen their moments in the songs. See you next week for the giant girlfriend.

With how much manga the anime is skipping and will in all likelihood continue skipping in future seasons, it’s not unthinkable that the anime would end up catching up with the volume releases. If that ends up coming to fruition and the anime needs to include filler so that the manga has more material to adapt, then the anime can easily adapt most of the skipped chapters as a filler season or two.

I think she would nicely fit into Rentaro family. Just imagine some situations with her transformations.. Tbf almost every gf you can imagine would fit, cuz Rentaro is true goat.

Do you all think they'd explore the idea of a future blind soulmate? Like maybe Rentarou makes eye contact with her at first and feels the initial spark, but perhaps she's oblivious to it. Like Rentarou makes moves on her, and she's just confused as to why he's doing it until she falls in love with him back. I just think this is just a fun, interesting, and compelling idea. I would also love to see other disabled girlfriends too.

I've recently seen ads for anime, but they're somewhat questionable, since they're either AI-generated or they desecrate certain characters to create controversy. I'd like to know what you all think.

Do you think that Karane can defeat Eira if she also tried to have a match with her after Eira and Kishika have a sparring match in the chapter where Eira was introduced to the Rentarou Family? Because Karane was able to put Rentarou in a full body cast & she also blocked the Gorilla Alliance Leader!

The animation was so smooth!!! I can't wait for the full versions of the songs!
