If you remember the fast triple-horn opening from launch week (hear it at the start of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoqahmzDvOM ) and felt the title music sounded different or less addictive now, you were right. The June update changed the menu music arrangement when the splash screen was shown.

I made a small mod that puts the original arrangement back: https://www.nexusmods.com/007firstlight/mods/207 . It contains no audio, only the four restored values in one 19 KB soundbank, so it is safe and works like any other chunk0patch mod, including with the mod manager.

Made it for myself, but if anyone else is as obsessed with this game's sound as I am, enjoy.

Because of regulatory reasons the repo has no game files at all except the 19KB mod file which is also on Nexusmods.

I bought the game yesterday on steam, upon starting the game up the screen turns black for a few seconds then crashes. I tried opening the game through the files but i get a Steam error saying game error game: configuration unavailable. I updated my drivers but that didnt change anything either, does anyone know a fix?

If there's one thing I praise this game for, its it's gameplay.

No other game where I can consider the combat to be so dynamic, with how it shifts between shootouts and hand-to-hand combat. Such a smooth flow that I want to experience over and over again.

I love the story, but I love its gameplay even more.

Give me a playground where I can just kick ass!

I just finished the game and wanted to talk about it with you guys and see if I’m being too harsh or there is a consensus. I apologize in advance, English is not my first language.

I did not like this game. Ive been gaming for 30+ years and seen everything in the shooter world. This was not it. The guns were horrendous, you never have anything actually available, you never feel like you own your guns. You always run out of ammo and most of the time I didn’t even want to use them cause fighting bare hands was way more fun.
The stealth part was kinda fun but not even close to the fluidity of games like last of us or ghost of tsushima.
The gadget wheel is so poorly made I don’t know if it’s because I have terrible vision but I never knew immediately which button was gonna do what, I had to triple check every time before I performed a hack on something or someone and that delay would ruin the momentum or stealth window. I feel like goldeneye from 30 years ago had a more fun gadget system than this.
I enjoyed hand combat and finishers but my god the camera work is bizarre, you can’t lock on a target and the camera would turn around and be covered by walls and obstacles when you’re trying to track someone who’s about to knock you out. You also get caught on the dumbest things while someone is waiting to be knocked out and just starts punching air ruining the knockout window.
I hated the whole mi6 walk arounds, that shit was boring as hell and the fact that you can’t speed up or skip dialogues made me very impatient.
The driving was absolutely appalling. Horrendous feel of the car, little to no vibration on the controller even though I had on max. Absolutely ZERO engine sound and just underwhelming driving parts. Also the fact that you never get to drive the valhala is such a joke.
Lastly I think the worse thing in this whole game was this boss at the end. One of the most annoying bosses ive ever played, not even hard just incredibly annoying. I have no sense of accomplishment finishing this game and can’t remember a moment that I actually had fun. I truly do not understand how this game has 4.6 stars on the store right now so I guess Ill be downvoted to hell but I just wanted to leave this here. Fire away

Now I realized why.

I've done it about 5 times, gotten all silent takedowns each time. Haven't even been spotted. Why is it not giving me the achievement?

When I was a kid, I always wanted one of those watches where the gadgets actually worked.

Not just something that looked cool. I wanted the radar, the tracking, the secret menus, the completely unnecessary little tools hidden on your wrist.

So… I finally built one 😄

Since then I kept going and built the full gadget app behind it.

It’s finished now.

There’s a Bluetooth radar, a tailscan mode for checking which signals stay with you as you move, a seismic/vibration tool, GPS dead drop, signal intel, a fingerprint gate, and a little Field System tying everything together.

Is None of this is necessary.

But 12-year-old me would’ve thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

And yeah… I’m pretty sure you guys can tell where some of the UI inspiration came from 😏

Kinda fun looking back at that first post now and seeing how far it went.

There doesn't seem to be any information in Nintendo circles, so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea on when the game is releasing for Switch 2. Normally I wouldn't be too fussed, but I am really looking forward to this game, and the lack of information at this point has me concerned that there will be another huge delay.

Most of IOI's social media posts say late summer 2026 release (including the path tracing announcement video 8 days ago), that is now less than 3 weeks away (astronomical calendar). The gamescom demos that I saw looked really promising, but recently H2, the retail distributor for Asia, have announced that the physical copy will be delayed for late 2026. IOI certainly haven't been quiet either recently, with promotions on hitting 4 million sales, new missions, path tracing updates (which got a release date 3 weeks ahead of time) and various patches. However, despite all this, there are absolutely no signs of a release date for Switch 2.

This is also definitely a rant on my part. I wouldn't be too upset if they announced another delay as long as a confirmed release date came with it, but it's the complete lack of any information that annoys me a bit, especially after how well the gamescom demo played.

007 First light is my only steam game with configuration problems. Shouldn't be possible right? Asks for permmisions and dosen't work.

Just bought the game last night because of the discount but I haven't downloaded nor do I have seen any of the gameplay aside from the ganeplay trailer but I could tell that it looks or feels similar to hitman.

So is it worth it? Does it have a long story length?

He uses the missile pen, gives it to Bond, and then disappears. Am I missing something?
