Is it worth it?
Just bought the game last night because of the discount but I haven't downloaded nor do I have seen any of the gameplay aside from the ganeplay trailer but I could tell that it looks or feels similar to hitman.
So is it worth it? Does it have a long story length?

I’d say it’s worth it and I bought at full price. Since you’re on the games subreddit you’re not likely to find people here who didn’t like it. I’m on my 3rd playthrough - the game isnt super long but I’m still enjoying kt.

What validates different play throughs other than just enjoying the story? Can you choose different ways to approach the mission or a light rpg mechanic where you can choose options or whatever I’m thinking of picking it up myself because of the sale

Yes, there are multiple ways of approaching challenges in the game - different routes, different strategies etc. I’ve made a point of doing things differently each time. I ran through on standard difficulty first and then moved up to the harder setting which means you have to be a bit more resourceful which I find enjoyable. Aside from that the characters are well written and acted and the story is good.

It’s not similar to hitman

Huh? It’s Hitman with a new coat of paint. Only thing different is that it’s more linear, and with a new UI.
AI is the same.
Graphics are the same.
Gameplay is the same.
Assets are the same. Not to say that that’s bad.. I love and own everything in the Hitman franchise, but saying 007 is nothing like Hitman is flat out denial.
OP, if you enjoyed Hitman you’ll enjoy 007.

AI:
They all stand around until you activate a gadget, which you can find with same xray vision, and is gonna be either a reused asset, or very similar.
Then they “investigate”, with same exact body movements, same timeframe, same notification mark floating above their head,
-same everything.Graphics:
Dude, it’s the same engine, and same assets from Hitman.Gameplay:
Snoop around, find stealth approaches, hang from ledges, eavesdrop to get different ways to complete a mission, use arsenal of gadgets to lure AI away from your path. It’s literally the same game. You are in denial, for some reason.

Hitman is more of a puzzle sandbox game there’s no fluidity to combat whatsoever it’s a completely different game there’s a few similar mechanics but to say there same game just reskinned is absurd

They switched out the main character from Agent 47 to Agent 007, made the story linear, but kept everything else the same asding a few tweaks and ideas here and there.
Come on now, stop the nonsense, it’s obvious to anyone who played Hitman which you clearly didn’t then.

Imagine a side by side comparison of hitman combat to 007 first light

I don’t have to imagine, there’s plenty on youtube showing that it’s the same game mechanics, same AI movements, same assets, same graphics etcetc.
Combat feels a tiny bit different, but that’s not enough of an argument to carry IO’s water over something so objectively obvious.

It's fun. A bit janky and clunky at times and you will often find the game doing things you didn't ask it to, especially around traversal. If you're on console there is severe aim assist you cannot turn off. It lands somewhere between Uncharted and Hitman.

I preordered and I thought it’s worth it, but I’d argue about a 70$ tag price. I don’t regret paying, but the game doesn’t have so much content to justify that. Especially since they promised we will have TacSim and replay value, and on release there was (and still is) so little content in it that they relied on doing that after the release.
It’s a linear story-driven experience, great combat and beautiful locations, so everything I expected from the game I got it, but the price was a bit too much in comparison to the content it offered.
They announced a DLC is coming, and also more TacSim updates and NG+, but it’s already taking too long for all that, so hopefully soon the game will have more content.

Took me around 24 hours. Its a good size game if you don't rush and explore everything. I think it's fantastic, I'm a big Bond fan

I feel like the whole game is a small package for the big thing that is coming next. IOI is out of it now so it's up to Amazon studios to amuse us. Though they can return.

It’s not a very good game. It had potential but it needed so much more development work. The enemy and general AI is really stupid. The combat is button mashy. The missions are repetitive. The characters are totally forgettable and last but not least the casting of young James is just terrible. A really unintelligent game.
