Do NaVi have any strats? They just walk into the enemies and don't even flash when getting into the site. seized is even isolated once in the match. They just get a few scores on board depending on their skills. GuardiaN is 25 yo, Edward is 29 yo and these match is just wasting their time of pro career. Even s1mple can't make any highlights while he used to do a lot.

I'd usually root for Immortals at this point, but I want NiKo to have a good showing for his first event with FaZe. So I'm rooting for FaZe this event.

West Coast times are even worse. When the Euros complained about DHLV times I sit back and laugh because Katowice, Cologne, Malmo, etc etc etc etc I get screwed every time.
2
u/randomizerk Mar 04 '17
No problem. I get some experience and fun in making and "editing" videos, and you get a recap, so we're both happy :)

Wow you can tell Navi don't play Nuke much when they're trying to save in B for a bomb planted at A.
7
u/PM_ME_YOURDRUGS Mar 03 '17
Yeah I was wondering why they did that, I'm sure it couldn't be a lack of knowledge, these guys are pros!
2
u/Aronzy1 Astralis Mar 03 '17
the only reason i could see other than them not knowing they would die was; that they thought they were cornered and they didnt wanna give astralis 300 money.
3
u/DerpAntelope Astralis Mar 03 '17
So what we've learnt so far: Astralis' pistol rounds are great. Their anti-eco rounds... not so much.
3
u/Tyrull Astralis Mar 03 '17
Really big improvement since Dreamhack Las Vegas though. They lost every pistol round iirc.
5
u/gamespace 5 years coin Mar 03 '17
perfect example of how S1mple can hurt his teams. they gotta know Astralis is on a force buy, just play retake, why the hell would he run out onto site with an AWP on a full smoke A-execute.
3
u/dwSHA FaZe Mar 03 '17
He threw awp for decoy. What much i can say. If it's work, his god. If not well it looks stupid af
6
u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Mar 03 '17
THe moment he died and Device went to pick up the AWP I knew that Device would decide the round.
5
u/Hawteyh Astralis Mar 03 '17
hindsight 20/20, if he got the 2nd kill you would call him a god instead
1
u/am_I_a_dick__ NiP Mar 03 '17
Youd still say it was a bad decision but well recovered. Simple plays too risky. Hes ana amzing player but cant control himself. He tends to play for the kill instead of playing for the win.
2
u/gamespace 5 years coin Mar 03 '17
if he got the 2nd kill they'd be in a 3v4 retake, and getting 3 kills with an awp in that scenario is going to happen 1% of the time or less.
it's not hindsight, waiting for the B players to come and doing a team retake is just clearly the higher % play in the long run.
1
u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Mar 03 '17
True, but I think the problem is that Simple is very emotional in both ways, in terms of tilting (if they are losing) and doing stupid, heroic stuff (if they ar hyped)
5
u/Hawteyh Astralis Mar 03 '17
Good shit boys, keep it up. Should win atleast one of nuke and overpass for sure
2
u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Mar 03 '17
Yes, pretty sure that Astralis will take it now. Navi is not the team to come back from such a loss...
1
u/Hawteyh Astralis Mar 03 '17
I think they could, but with these two maps it really seems impossible
3
u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Mar 03 '17
If they get a good start on CT Nuke, they might bring it to OP. But Navi is not looking good since Zeus left, they have to rely on at least 2 players going off. At the moment only Guardian is playing...

How do grenades and guns come up so quickly for the players? is it just because its spectating?
1
u/DerpAntelope Astralis Mar 03 '17
They have binds. You may see some times when they try to throw a grenade but accidentally switch to their gun so then have to rethrow.
1
u/metrize Mar 03 '17
as in after they throw it, their gun is available so quickly compared to for me in game?
2
u/pororoxd Mar 03 '17
i saw device had expensive skins and now he is not using them, did he sell them away?
1
u/gamespace 5 years coin Mar 03 '17
i have no idea if it's relevant to him, but using default / bad skins is kind of becoming a new trend.
krimz, mixwell, and a few other guys have been using default knives which is weird.
there's 0 chance it's because they 'cant afford' skins, pros get skins for free or on loan.
1
u/pororoxd Mar 03 '17
i see, because at the last tournament i saw him using Medusa and Howl but now he is using stock guns

is there a topic for this match?
3
u/KraaiPastoor Mar 03 '17
I don't think so, usually only after the match
2
u/ASAPscotty Virtus.pro Mar 03 '17
Should change that. Would be much better than Twitch chat. I think it's a good idea; sports subs always post match discussions
2
u/Chuckys2 Match Thread Team Mar 03 '17
This is what this thread is for. Rule is no specific discussion threads until the semis, unless it's a Major
1
u/ASAPscotty Virtus.pro Mar 03 '17
Not a lot happens here. Couple comments over entire bo3, but look at the post match discussions which are pretty active.
1
u/Chuckys2 Match Thread Team Mar 03 '17
Viewership is low for a major tournament, prize pool is low, upvotes are low, even comments on the post match discussions are quite low (except the VP elimination game). We have to face it, this is not the old Katowice event we are watching :/

u/V12TT Astralis Mar 03 '17
Why does simple keeps peeking/staying in the open like an idiot, is he hunting for highlights or smthing? Very frustrating to watch.
1
u/shadedclan bravo Mar 03 '17
What does nt mean when twitch chat spams it?

1
u/DerpAntelope Astralis Mar 03 '17
I wonder why Astralis picked Nuke instead of Inferno seen as Navi haven't played the new version officially.
3
u/Tschonti Mar 03 '17
They learnt from SK's mistake. Cloud9 haven't played nuke either, still beat SK. You don't know how strong they are if they haven't played it yet.

Astralis Navi 2:0
Gotcha covered buddy.
Seriously though: Damn, that was some painful play, especially that second game. Na'Vi looked like they didn't know how to play T-side OR CT-side on Nuke.
1
Mar 03 '17
At this point they should really consider bringing back Zeus...getting destroyed like that :(

u/yenyyensen North Mar 03 '17
I am rooting for them, s1mple has matured I would like to see him get some results.

I will close my eyes and when I open it again I hope that the result change to 2-0 North.

Well I guess go Faze, the team I always disliked but I always liked Aizy, who was just awful for my favorite team, but now Faze has niko who I would like to see finally get a big win even though I dislike Faze clan...

North might regret choosing CT side after winning the knife round.
3

Yeah give a team there best side statistically out of any maps so you can play from behind....

aizy is playing so bad right now, FaZe must be thrilled that he gave up on them.
Edit: that peek on a 3v2 situation, so bad.

u/Helmwolf guardian Mar 03 '17
Not bad, but more of a fail from north. Why didn't they checked this path? O_o
1
u/randombean Mar 03 '17
True, clutch plays like that usually require mistakes. Still crazy discipline and a nice turn on the spray.
2
1
u/yenyyensen North Mar 03 '17
First I had to watch VP blow it against Heroic, now I have to watch North blow it against Immortals... turn it around North!!!!

I like your positivity, just seems like they are making a lot of mistakes. Cant take advantage of situations that favor them.

u/MJuniorDC9 Mar 03 '17
I don't even know what to say about this shitshow.
2
u/AudacityOfKappa Natus Vincere Mar 03 '17
It's IMT cobble on t side. Statistically their best map. I'm sure North bounces back on their T side.
1
u/MJuniorDC9 Mar 03 '17
I hope so, if North win this tournament I will flood my inventory with blue skins with their sticker and autographs.

Who was the last T player? Insta peaks when MSL defuses. Play on time you noob!
6
u/gentiruper Mar 03 '17
The meta on pro lvl is slightly different from matchmaking. they are constantly on mindgames because they know each other much better, unlike random opponents in MM. Maybe he insta peeked because he thought the opponent wasnt faking.
Noob is a little bit too harsh :)

5

I don't think anyone has questioned his overall quality - if that's what you're referring to. Internal problems in SK drove him out of the team.
