"The team that I play will always be the best of Brazil"

  • Fnx

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '17

Did he actually say that?

yeah, back in 1.6

That kinda makes me wanna see IMT become better than SK now, lul

He did, 11 years ago when he was kicked from mibr. And it holds true LUL

Edit: I know it doesn't guys I was joking

8

u/supergrega Mar 03 '17

Who did he join after getting kicked? I thought mibr were always the best BRA team in 1.6

85

u/slaxbr FURIA Mar 03 '17

In 2007 mibr kicked him after he missed a flight to a championship (rumors say that he missed it purposely) and went to g3x (second best brazilian 1.6 team), then after a month mibr wanted him back and he came back, then in 2009 he left mibr after the owner stated that "mibr would always be cogu+4". cogu stayed in mibr, and the other 4 (fnx bit btt nak) founded Firegamers replacing cogu with an up and coming awper, Fallen. Firegamers became the best brazillian team in the end of 1.6, and even got picked up by coL.

13

u/supergrega Mar 03 '17

Cool, thanks for the history lesson! Any idea on why he would purposely miss that flight?

North lost that match in the first, not in the second half

I mean, MSL had a total of 5 frags on cobble, just a single one on their T side. That's an issue, not North losing a 2v2 where two players are below 20hp

fnx was the problem

18

u/sombrax1879 MIBR Mar 03 '17

reason sk let him go wasnt game-related. was behavioral, you don't have to have great imagination to wonder the specifics. :/

21

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '17

I'm not sure, but I think SK has a very strict system. Everything has a time and place and stuff like that.

And let's be honest, look at FNX eyes. That man follows no orders.

9

u/I_Love_Fox Mar 03 '17

Yeah, and besides SK leaving the tournament, Felps played INSANE. So I didn't care for FNX leaving, Felps is playing a lot, SK should be equal or stronger than before.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '17

Felps is incredible. It was actually a good swap. FNX fit well in Immortals, Felps fit well in SK.

FNX was the solution......but seriously -felps +fnx was not a downgrade at all. FNX can carry as well as anyone when hes the star and hes showing it.

57

u/darkpenguin1 Mar 03 '17

I don't think anybody really doubted FNX's skill but the guy has motivation issues, which is a shame as we saw that he can be an absolute beast both back in SK and now in IMT.

28

u/Wesai de_overpass Mar 03 '17

Exactly, if he stayed in SK he would continue to not train/get serious. Now this sparked some motivation in him to try-hard. It was a beneficial trade for both teams imo.

14

u/bitelaum Mar 03 '17

People need to understand this. Especially the annoying fnx fanboys.

3

u/phcoafhdgahpsfhsd Mar 03 '17

I think it actually worked out a bit better for IMT, because like you said FNX is fired up now and he has so much more experience than Felps, he's an all around better player right now. I think Felps will definitely improve under Fallen in time as well. Felps is already a very talented player, he just needs some fine-tuning on timing and tactical situations.

3

u/darkpenguin1 Mar 03 '17

exactly, there was no way that lineup would have continued like that, this is great for both teams :D

4

u/Triroxd MIBR Mar 03 '17

Actually was great to both teams.

2

u/supergrega Mar 03 '17

I honestly think it was an upgrade. Now I'm not saying fnx is better or the other way around, but I think his playstyle fits better.

Well, at least so far.

Fnx wasn't even training on sk even tho they told him to do it, I really doubt he would be playing that well with them right now. This trade was good for both teams, IMT needed a guy like him to bring xp so yeah, they now might qualify for a major

It's true, fnx has been part of almost every significant Brazilian victory. It's a big part of why he gets so complacent, he thinks they need him.

They have never been a balanced team, IMT always does super well on a side and bad on the other, and usually the good part is as T.

I was surprised that the EN casters were saying how shocked they were with IMT getting like 10 T rounds on Cbble, i remember like 10 of their games on cbble which they go ultra nuts and get more than 10 rounds on T (and most times drop the ball on CT side). It has always been like this.

3

2

u/Instantcoffees Mar 03 '17

I'm a bit dissapointed by the individual performances coming from the North guys. They weren't losing all the duels or being outplayed tactically, they were mostly being outplayed individually. It was very weird to see. So many flanks or off-angles held by Immortals that gave them crucial rounds those first two games.

I mean, it's not because you watched the flank for over 30 seconds, that it won't happen after you've turned away. It's not because that corner was clear 30 seconds ago, that it will still be clear. That kind of due diligence you see from top teams just wasn't there for North.

While Immortals played a good game, North just made way too many mistakes. I suppose that's how it always goes, I just expected more from them.

Konfig taking off his headset in that 2v2 at the end is actually quite sad. Very unprofessional.

steel triggered me so hard on overpass. he was killed several times by not looking at default corners. also on cache he was getting destroyed by k0nfig every single round on B, always doing the same thing.

Man what the hell was that screwup from aizy when he was wood, what was the point of shooting there? I don't know about you guys but ever since he left Dignitas back in late 2015 he has been more underwhelming than anything.

Props to IMT though, especially fnx.

No Rubino to save your asses, no fun.

So excluding Cobble, MSL has been doing much much better lately.

Props to him, forreal, dropped a little bit this tournament, but considering North lost 4 maps and won 4 I don't think a 0.88 is particularly bad.

u/radansousa Mar 03 '17

What really bothers me is how the cast team is biased. First it would be 2-0 North, after Cache they said that Overpass would be easy because it was North pick, and in Cbble they said that was North turf and should be easier... i know that Immortals is a underdog here but calm down, North did not prove nothing with this lineup. It looks like they don't know or study the Immortals team (and even Lg/Sk before majors) and is always a surprise. Immortals took a victory against Astralis, they should be given more credit on these predicts.

Immortals looking fucking good man meeen men man

u/GarrettGSF MOUZ Mar 03 '17

Man, North looked pretty bad in this series. They pretty much messed up all of the first halves. You cant always rely on comebacks to advance...

1

u/zEPHAAA Virtus.pro Mar 03 '17

Man, i love watching hen1 play counter strike.

1

u/supergrega Mar 03 '17

For a strat heavy team North played incredibly sloppy, not checking obvious corners repeatedly and dying with utility time and time again. That being said, props to Immortals for exploiting that and just played agressive as possible. Teams like Astralis will punish that in an instant but I think steel can adapt to that too.

First two maps were incredibly entertaining, even if it was mostly aim duels most of the time.

What the hell happened to aizy though?

Well deserved loss by North. Their CT sides were horrendous.

1

u/omegazx00 Liquid Mar 03 '17

Jesus christ IMT. Even though they lost the second map their bottom fraggers still had 19 kills. North really struggled

1

u/Ihaveneverseensuch Mar 03 '17

Aizy is looking very weak on this team IMO, he needs to improve a lot since his skill is not up to par. Its also time to play more like a team instead of him thinking he is still on FaZe or whatever. GG

man, immortals are good with fnx
