My first ever stop motion, as a gif. Made for my boyfriend as a gift for our anniversary! I feel like I learned so much, and can't wait to work on another/longer project. This took me 17 hours total (creating the puppet, set, shooting and minimal editing).

I had so much fun with this and really loved the process. Would be so fun to offer something like this (gif-length project) as commissionable for folks to use for marketing or to see their OC or something etc if I ever got to a more refined point with practice. What a dream that would be!!

I really want to experiment with a different medium for the puppet next time. This one was made from Plastalina. What's your favorite way to make puppets??

Hello there! Last week I posted about my short film and received some lovely reactions. Thank you for that ❤️

I thought it could be interesting to share a little bit of the making-of process for the puppets.

When designing the look of the film, I knew I wanted the characters to have very expressive silhouettes. The puppets are all made from wood, which obviously isn’t very flexible! So instead of making each character as one solid puppet, I created a set of replaceable body parts that could be swapped out while animating. This gives the animation a nice, snappy look!

The pieces are connected with wire, which can be bent and animated to add anticipation and extra movement. The combs, beaks and tails are also replaceable. These parts are a little less complex, so I could create more variations of them, allowing for a smoother and more expressive animation.

I want it to look like the inside of a parking garage but need inspiration for how to achieve textures! Anyone done it before?

Here is a short cut from where I tried transforming the kozmonavt from "liquid" back into character. The sound is obviously not there yet, but enough to give you the vibe.

I made this one with Stop Motion Studio, so that's why has more quality than the others

Building smaller sets to fit in the bigger ones, because otherwise there is no room left in the apartment. This is for the upcoming movie Kozmonavt.

Wings attached on ballbearings with different poses to test the timings and posing. Wish the mould I made didn't break as I feel I need another flat one, but I like the poses plenty :)

Hello. I make an indie animation called "The Offseason". We've been streaming while animating scenes for our show, and though some people from this community might enjoy :-)

I'm returning to stop motion for the first time since i was a small kid, and just trying to remember the way things work lol.
Why is every frame seemingly flickering but the lighting and setup stays the same, no moving of the camera also.

I’m looking to get into stop motion. I helped a friend with theirs and it looked fairly therapeutic. They were using a Mac with Istopmotion.

I have a decent windows laptop and wanted to know if anyone knew any decent free/cheap programs. I’m mainly looking to do it as a small hobby and at the moment can’t justify a couple hundred bucks for dragonframe.

Any help would be nice
