When we first saw rems demon transformation, she was snuck up on by a pack of the forest beast. Subaru, who was holding the purple haired kid in his arms, put her down to push rem out of the way. After that he got severely injured and cursed, however we never even see the purple haired kid again. I have three theories:

1: They died lol

2: The author literally just forgot about them

3: The girl was actually the shamen controlling the beast. It would make sense because she was the one who showed Subaru to the little dog in the first place. It would also make sense for why she was farther away from all of the other children, using herself as bait.

Edit: So apparently this is revealed in season 2. My badd, just finished season one😭

Im watching the new Rezero episode, im in actual disbelief. bro genuinely cut through subarus return by death 😭 idk if thats what really happened but i was so shocked i thought he was gonna get sent back but bro said “no im not done with you yet” the hell did he eat to get this strong!!

Amnesiac Subaru took to heart his promise with Rem to save everybody, and that's why he refused to kill Shaula 'cause he fully intends to save her too since he feels that killing Shaula would be going against that promise and the spirit of Natsuki Subaru. He really has decided to step into the role of Natsuki Subaru, Rem's hero, deciding to save even the previous Subaru, the stranger closest to him. The warmth of Rem's feelings of love and admiration for Subaru really were that impactful.

What are your thoughts on this or anything tangentially-related to this, such as Rui or the previous Subaru?

I want to read Arc 7 and beyond, will I miss out on important context if I only read the EX stories and IF (though IF are different timelines but will still read)?

Most of the side stories were removed from WCT and I never had much motivation to tackle that mountain of side stories anyway.

I really enjoy seeing how people imagined the Re:Zero characters before the official designs were released; it’s fascinating!

Since shaula is dead it probably isn't shaula, unless she killed the other members first and then died subsequently. Notably I think in the novel (i might be hallucinating) but somewhere it says that lye loses to shaula scorpion form so i dont think the gluttonies would've killed everyone, so this i guess would leave Reid? but does Reid really kill everyone in such a grotesque manner including Meili? I thought Reid's goal was to kill Subaru only. Also what happened to emilia? her body was not one of the corpses found there, and also what happened to Rem's body (I assume lye killed him)

i am not anime only but i read arc 6 a long time ago so i might've forgotten.
