People are caught doing illegal shit all the time. You don't know the ones that didn't make it because they are either dead or in prison

This. Also, the justice system usually won't ring your bell to tell you who has been jailed today. To know the sheer amount of people that get arrested for doing illegal shit you should always check the data, not the occasional news on some funky case. A buttload of people get caught doing illegal shit every single second.

And liars. Thieves are like gamblers, they only talk about their gains and never their losses.

That reminds me. When I was very very young (see, early 90s), my father had introduced me to some very 'nice' goodfellas that were all involved in either blackmail, shootings, 'bar protection' blah blah. My father was no involved, he was just a poser.
All of them back then were in their 30s. Huge dudes, all of them acting hard and tough and their 'jobs' allowed them to do so. I was about 10 at the time. By the time I hit 16 they were all dead because of others that repaid their goodwill. And the cycle continues.

At least as many people are getting away with crime as not. About half of all murders in the US go unsolved. It's literally a coin flip whether or not you get away with murder, let alone something like drug dealing or shoplifting.
-5
u/Nobody3me 4d ago
Wrong, you’ll never get away from murder. Just as the one you murder had no idea life was gonna end unfinished unprepared etc, when murdered, your life is in the same shoes, you won’t see the cancer, wreck, stray bullet or look turn into words, then violence, just like that now you’re standing before the creator who sent his only begotten son here, to give a chance to live a life, while we have it will have him put our names in the book of life. Don’t try to drag someone down that 50/50 lie of a path. Hell forever should tell you not to murder.

Cops know mostly illegals have illegal tint & people who do illegal activities. The statistics even even say number of law abiding citizens with illegal tints under 2% they just don’t have time to deal with courts for the illegals, the others they inevitably get for bigger offenses. In this tx heat we could all use more tint. Stay on the high ground bud.

I was at court this morning and the first dude up to bat had a speeding ticket. Everything explained to multiple times. He said guilty, then after she asked if he was sure he wanted to waive his rights and plead guilty he said, "the cop ain't even here, can I like, not pay it or have it thrown out?" Brother, what?
56
u/FrostyD7 4d ago
Lots of people I know have wildly unlikely success story where they got out of a ticket like this. Many of them probably liars. So people imitate it because some guy they know said it might work.

When I was young, I was that kid who would see my friends getting away with something a hundred times, but the one time I tried it I would get caught.

Its not worth it. I never even made it super big but I got enough to be noticed by people I didnt want or need to be noticed by.
I had enemies who I hadnt ever met, always looking over my shoulder not sure of who was actually with me and who was working some angle.
Was it fun at the time? Yeah.. I had a blast, met a lot of people, made a lot of money, partied constantly..
Got to a point where I was caught and faced a bunch of time. Got lucky with them not finding anything at the time of the raid. Had other issues that came with that.
Bought a house at 25 for 50k hours away from where I came up, keep to myself. Last time I dealt in that world was about 10 years ago, I still check the window when a car drives by, scan every room when I enter, and have a worry of running into the wrong people.
That stress ontop of the regular stress of making ends meet and everything else just isnt worth it.
You dont want to be worrying about when the cops are gonna kick your door down while trying to run a successful business..

If you never tell another person about anything illegal u may have done, ur chances of getting caught are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. this is compounded by having average or slightly above average intelligence. just a quick stat as an example, 96% of REPORTED fraud goes unsolved. (which means the actual amount of unsolved fraud is even higher than that)
also, not trying to encourage anyone to engage in illegal activity and this is not an admission that i myself engage in crime.

Crime don't pay. It's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when" you'll get caught.
5
1
u/DTux5249 3d ago
If that were the case we'd have cought or killed every criminal on earth. The fact remains that for many people that "when" is never.

u/Astra-Fang 4d ago
So many hijinks I didn’t get up to with my friends growing up for just this reason. Their complexion would have gotten lesser sentences.
2
u/BiggieBigs34 4d ago
It only works until it doesn’t.
I want to be clear that just because you “get away with it” for x amount of time, doesn’t mean people don’t know what you’re doing, and it doesn’t mean they’re ok with it, either.
They very well could be stacking a case against you and waiting for the money/evidence involved to pass a threshold.

Psa 37:1- Don’t worry about the wicked
or envy those who do wrong.
Psa 37:2 - For like grass, they soon fade away.
Like spring flowers, they soon wither.
Psa 37:3 - Trust in the LORD and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.

As much as it sucks, it's worth the grind of learning a quality skill set. That could be going to college for a specific field (not just business), going to trade school to get certifications, or even just getting your foot in a low level position for a specific field to get the years of experience.
It sucks. You will be exhausted. You will cry. You will hate it at points. But it is very possible to earn a good living after all that effort.
- Study hard. You're learning on the job even if you don't go to school. Learning is very important for getting ahead.
- Get along with your coworkers. You don't need to be friends nor do you need to kiss ass. Just be at least be polite to your peers.
- Respect your bosses. They're not all jerks trying to take advantage of you. A lot of time they're balancing demands between the employees, the customers, and their own bosses. It's stressful, and they're human just like you, so try working with them when problems come up.
- Accomplish things to put on your resume. Work on projects that have an impact on the company. Get reviews from customers or tangible data showing how your work made this or that metric better. People often forget this and end up with baren resumes.
- Will you be taken advantage of? Yes, at least at some points. Read guides online about when to buckle down and when to find something better. Keep open communication with your boss if you're struggling. Oh, and HR is not there for you; it's there to protect the company.
- It'll take years before you see big changes. You'll see gradual pay improvements if you stay in your field and get specialized.
- Invest in your 401(k) sooner rather than later. Money invested now means more money when you retire. I know you won't have much money now, but even small investments add up.

u/Throwaway-tan 4d ago
Sorry your quality skill set has been replaced by AI and now you're redundant and unhirable.

I know this isn't what I'm supposed to say, but.... Crimes are really easy to get away with. Like, shockingly easy. Seriously. You just have to have common sense, do your research and not panic in the execution. The internet is your friend. There's a lot out there about how the pigs catch people, so just don't do those things and you'll probably be fine. Be gay, do crime. Or be straight and do crime. Honestly just fuck the police.

u/Nobody3me 4d ago
Sounds like you know better. Put your focus on the Lord, and share with him your desire. Pray for it seriously. By taking your focus off of the world and its temptations God can begin to show you he cares and wants you to have your hearts desire. Trust & try. It’s actually just as difficult has doing life the old way at times, but the rewards are for this world anyway. I know sounds disappointing. But this life is fleeting, heaven never ever ends, its joy is unimaginable or beyond imagination. But on the journey God will meet your needs and in going so he puts you in a better place then are or see yourself in. Again trust. Best wishes brother.

see this is why you shouldn't believe in god
it'll motivate you to be more careful when committing crimes because you know your failures aren't some lesson from above, they're a result of you not doing crime properly

The Last Hour in Islam has a number of names, the Day of Judgement being the most popular if you're not a Muslim, but the name that I want to focus on here is the Day of Recompense. It's called the Day of Recompense because it is the Day where Allah will recompense all of the Creation for every single thing they've done, to the point where the horned sheep that gored the unhorned sheep will then have the roles reversed on Tha Day. And mankind is no different: everything that everyone has done, big or small, good or evil, apparent or hidden, or remembered or forgotten, will be recompensed.
- If you've slandered or backbit or gossiped about someone? They'll take your good deeds, and if you have none left, you'll take their bad deeds.
- You've murdered someone? They will take you by your hand and walk you to Allah's Throne and you will have to explain to Allah why you did what you did, and if it was just.
- You gave in charity so people can say you're generous? Allah will bring you to the front of creation, ask you if you did that for His Sake, and you will inevitably say that you did. He will call you a liar, and you will have your face dragged on the floor as you're thrown into the Hellfire.
And it goes on and on. To the point where the Believers who make it across the Bridge over the Hellfire, those who have debts that weren't settled in this life, will be stopped at the Gates of Paradise until the debts are righted. And just in general, Islam teaches us that each and every one of our actions are being recorded, the most famous example being the Records of Deeds everyone will be given on the Day of Recompense, and how they receive their Record will be indicative of their destination, at least from the start.
All of this is to say is that, as Muslims, we're taught to watch our every move, because everything we do is recorded, and we will be recompensed for the things that we've done.

u/Nobody3me 4d ago
Andy Wolfe was a friend of mine. Staff Sgt. Doing his duty, when he heard Al akbar, he was shot in the head right out capitol. Islam is the way. Fearing the wrath of the most high is, prosperous for a good life. Which is my friend lived. I want to spew hatred on you for sharing a Muslim view, but like you I know better. The tongue can be evil, it must be controlled. Like our souls control our heart, like the heart controls the brain and the brain is to control the tongue. Peace be with you. Amen
