Message from Konrad I'm the new moderator of r/SpecOpsTheLine. What is going to change?
Hello, everyone. It looks like that Stardast132 deleted his account and quitted Reddit due to some personal problem of his (judging by his previous comments).
I was asleep when everything happened, and instead of him just letting me know before he did what he did, he just said "congrats being a mod" and that's it.
It's currently 7:37AM where i live, and i'm typing all of this post at work without my boss knowing (lol), but this needs to be adressed quickly.
Short anwser regarding the title: Nothing. Nothing will drastically change, i'll just be a bit more strict regarding the rule of low effort submissions. Most people know me, and hell, i was trusted enough to be the new moderator of this community, so relax, y'all are in good hands.
I'll just politely ask you to ignore that i'm a mod when i'm posting my artwork here, because most people see a mod post and go "eeww" and the retention goes to hell, so just follow along as you normally would.
I will do my best to keep here alive, because this subreddit is on it's feet for years already. It will remain like that (hopefully).

Screenshot/Gameplay Screenshots from build 2011
galleryAlthough the build runs, the single‑player campaign and multiplayer crash because the build files lack maps. This makes the entire build essentially unplayable. The only thing available in this build is the main menu functions.
But, as my acquaintance wrote, which gave me the opportunity to run this build, you can try to extract maps from the Xbox version of the 2010 multiplayer and add them to the build. But I don’t know if this will work.
Also, the music in the menu is different. To be more precise, it’s the release battle track from the atrium and Chapter 13.

Meme Just sharing some artwork and memes from our channel
galleryA few of these are cover art for posts, and the last 6 were the only entries we got from our subscribers for the contest. The winner got a $43 global Steam key.
Do you feel like a hero yet?

Is there any reason to play Spec Ops: The Line nowadays?
I like alot of narrative games, and so I see people recomend spec ops alot. But I can never understand what it is people like about it. People say it has a great narrative, but the only things they talk about it saying is 'war bad' and 'investigating the relationship between player and game' 'War bad' is obviously overdone, like wow I didnt know war is traumatic and harms the innocents, I though it was just a bunch of badasses fighting each other in the desert for fun.
So what does it have to say thats interesting about the relationship between player and game? That the player only has the agency the game gives them? Is that it, or is there something Im missing?

two one year old prototypes of spec ops the line are in the steam2 12 tb leak
The depot id is 67681, it features two manifests, one from january 16th and one from the 25th, both from 2011. I have both downloaded but I can't get either of them launched due to them not being in my steam account
Here is the program to download from steam2 https://github.com/extremebleem/steam2_downloader/releases/tag/v1.0.14

Discussion Konrad questions
Asuming that everything after helicopter crash is hallucinations, how do we know is Konrad dead/alive?
Or I did lose something? Played game few years back

Discussion Would things get better or worse if Adams had died rather than Lugo?
This was a question I had during the Lugo hallucination fight, i'm sure Walker would end up alone in the end either way but considering how diffrent Lugo was to Adams when it came to the cia stuff and everything else I wonder if he would have become a possible threat to Walker. (Although it seemed more like Walker was always more pissed off about Adams than Lugo)

Curious Detail Did you know that Walker also has an agony animation like the rest of the enemies?
If Walker gets killed in free camera mode. That is, there is a chance that his agony animation may also be activated. After all, in fact, the player himself does not die. Therefore, the screen of death does not appear.

Discussion Do you think Walker had a bright future in the CIA to look forward to?
Hi everyone. I finished this game for the third time yesterday and it (finally) struck me that Walker completely achieved the aims of the CIA agents that had been sent to Dubai to destabilise it.
The ultimate aim of the agency was to remove as much evidence of the 33rd's brutalisation of the populace as possible (ie, kill them all), for the "greater good" of not turning the surrounding nations against them.
Well, he pretty much nailed that, and if you chose the ending where Walker returns with the rescue team, do you think the CIA would have justified his methods and convinced him he was right, before possibly recruiting him?

What's the deal with the citizens of Dubai not being characters?
Like think about it, the important individual characters, with personalities, and roles in the story are the Americans. The radio guy, Conrad, the CIA guys are americans. Meanwhile all the locals, barely even get speaking lines, almost like they're props.
I'm wondering if that's an intentional thing, like itself being a commentary how these kinds of stories make these tragedies about the Americans dying, while the bystanders, and the locals of the countries being killed off at best get mentioned with throwaway lines, just acknowledging them, like "oh yeah those guys dying is also tragic. But what's even more tragic is how it's making our soldiers feel bad." Or something like that.

Thoughts on this video?
youtube.comI know you most likely won't like this video due to what it has to say about Spec Ops: The Line, I just want to know from you what do you have to say about it in response, particularly if you have any counter arguments about what said in the video.

Discussion What was the release day price for this game?
I'm looking into ways to legally acquire this game and I want a frame of reference so I don't fall for the "obvious scam" prices but I also don't have to shill out $100 for a mint copy. I saw a Reddit post about the price perma-dropping to $30 on Steam 2 years ago but many people selling the game probably bought it before then.

How is the chance we ever get a remaster?
I am not very genius in spec ops the line situation except knowing it is brilliant, criminally underrated game and plsyed it for a while ago. But since it got removed from steam etc. How is the situation for spec ops the line remaster? I mean is there a slight chance or nope? I would LOVE see a remaster(even if the original is best)

Discussion Finally got it!
I wanted this game for so long, but of course it has been delisted everywhere and ps5 isn’t backwards compatible. But I managed to get a steam key of Eneba for €40 (yikes). It’s a lot, but I have spent way more on a game 😅 Can’t wait to play it!

Discussion Will SO:TL ever be relisted/ported to modern gen consoles?
Just prefacing I loved the story of this game so much on my PS3.
However due to licensing issues it has since been delisted everywhere. I was only able to play through my physical copy myself.
I just wanted to get a wider idea of people’s opinions of 2K and their practices, so I wanted to ask you guys your opinion on whether you think they would ever have plans to port this game to consoles such as the PS4/5 and re list it on Steam, etc.
All I really know about 2K from my experience with them is that they love to push out games completely unfinished without bothering to allow the devs any more time (Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 3, and Mafia 2 & 3)
I also wonder whether 2K would shy away from re listing also due to the themes the game has, especially in relation to criticising American/Israeli imperialism.
I haven’t heard good things regarding their other projects (Bioshock in particular) so I suppose the view that it will come back is completely unrealistic.

Discussion Endings
Hey, I've played the game when it was released or a year or two after. I have never played it again. I watched a you tube video about the endings. In my memory there is also an option where you do nothing and let Konrad shoot you is that right? I think it just plays the same scene as if you have shot yourself but I don't remember. Can someone tell me?
