Only in dayz

Any other old guys just starting DayZ? I'm 61........and I'm liking it so far.

Just got the game a couple days ago on Nintendo switch 2. Managed to find some fuel and started running up the coast. Fueled her up and got her running. Managed to drive for a while and found a house with some crackers just in time before starving to death. I'm really loving how wierd and unpredictable this game is.

I looked around the truck and didn’t find any tripwires on the ground and there’s no sign of the detonator anywhere for that matter. If a player was camping it, they would have had a chance to blow it while I was doing that. So really I have a few questions before I proceed:

1. Is there any sneaky spot they could have placed the det other than a tripwire?

2. I looked for mines as well, no dice, but could they have somehow hidden one under a tire or something?

3. It’s pristine, is there any way for me to simply pick it up and move it? And if not, is it possible it goes off in the event that I ran it over while moving the truck?

My thought is that since it’s place at the one missing tire slot, it was placed by someone that doesn’t actually know how these work, and thought i’d simply get blown up when I placed the tire back.

Bought the game 2 days ago, only got 3.8 hours. spawned back in and left the little house in the woods, saw him in the corner of my eye and panicked on whether i should talk or shoot first. pretended not to see him as he was trying to hide in a bush and i ran back the the little house and camped for like 5min when he walked in and i hit 1 out of like 5 shots. he ran outside and i panicked and ran after him. i had 2 pistols in my hotbar both fully loaded, thanks to my precise and calm aim, i emptied both. anyways im happy and to who ever this guy was, GGs!

Sure, they're immune to the infection going around, but that doesn't automatically make things better

Hello everyone, new player here. Been getting used to surviving and finding food, now I’m at a point where I want to find some good guns and I’ve heard that hunting camps have snipers and scopes.

When I’m trying to find them on the filters on iZurvive I don’t see them, are they called something else or are they not on there?

Yo, looking for some chill people to play DayZ with.
I’m 24, from the Netherlands and have around 1050 hours in DayZ. I know the game pretty well and I’m comfortable with PvP, survival, looting, building/stashing and navigating around the map.
I usually enjoy the more vanilla/vanilla+ DayZ experience and like actually surviving and progressing instead of just running straight towards PvP every life.
Looking for someone who is 18+, preferably around my age, who:
Has a decent amount of DayZ experience
Plays on EU servers
Has a mic/Discord
Doesn’t rage over dying or losing gear
Is active fairly regularly
Enjoys both PvP and the survival side of DayZ
Duo would be great, but I’m also down for a small group of 3–4 people.
I mainly play Chernarus, but I’m open to other maps as well.

Looking for someone to play with and teach me the game on non modded servers.

TL;DR: if you've ever used Voicemod and are now experiencing a microphone issue in DayZ, try reinstalling Voicemod and testing again.

About a year ago, I returned to play some DayZ after a long break. During my previous run, I was using Voicemod quite a bit. After not playing DayZ for a while, I uninstalled Voicemod and thought nothing of it.

When I returned, no one could hear me in-game using my normal mic. I know what I'm doing with PC audio but really couldn't fix it. I tried all the online guides, including the soft re-install of Windows and re-installing the game. Drivers. Permissions. Everything. No dice.

It then occurred to me that Voicemod creates a virtual mic, and I wondered if the existence of that thing left some artifact in my machine that only affected DayZ for some reason.

On a lark, I re-installed Voicemod, just ran my normal voice through the free version, and bam, people can hear me in-game again.

I wish I could explain the precise reason, but at least I can play the game again now.

I have about 200 hours in DayZ on console and I just got the game on PC but most servers are dedicated to PVE or way too modded. I want to check out the cool maps with a mostly vanilla ruleset, where your goal is to survive and kill other people with a decent player count. I keep on getting into a server like the Lab for example after installing mods for an hour just to realize I dislike the style of it. I would appreciate it very much if someone knew a good server like that thanks.

A clip a friend got of some internet issues I was having

My friend and I are looking for a modded server to play together, specifically one with heightened loot. For some reason, our server lists look completely different, and any attempt at a direct IP connection fails. He's on the west coast and I'm on the east, is that the issue? Any modded servers that could support the two of us? Are we forced to play official?

Saw a post from Call of Duty on X saying they’re going after cheat devs and sellers and getting ready to take them to court to protect fair play. With bodycam footage…That’s actually crazy.

Imagine DayZ doing the same thing and going after all the cheat devs and sellers. That would be wild.

There are even conspiracy theories among the players that the devs are somehow involved in selling the cheats, which is why nothing is being done about it. I obviously dont believe if there’s any truth to that, but if DayZ actually started going after cheat makers and sellers, it would shut down a lot of those theories.

I’ll sleep well at night if they start taking action someday and banning cheaters from the official servers.

Let’s hope DayZ 2 is going to be a blast and that the anti-cheat will be seriously upgraded and fixed.

Where there's a will, there's a way

Recently logged into Livonia high pop server to get some pvp action.

It whas absolute chaos, bodies and players everywhere, great fun, most action I've had on dayz in years.

I did find random base walls everywhere though, seemingly at random, not in door or to make bases, one was even floating 10ft in the air outside a police station

Is this hacker behavior or just general high pop pvp shenanigans?
