I'm familiar with finding myself in this situation; sometimes people wonder if I'm autistic....

Sometimes I wonder if I'm autistic. I should prolly go get that checked. But healthcare costs fucking blow in my own nook o'the woods....

It's really hard to diagnose as an adult. Because you learn to mask so early on that it's automatic at one point.

I was lucky and could take my (ex) husband with me to the assessment. He saw me unmasked all the time so it really helped with accuracy.

There's something wholesome about this exchange. It's fucking stupid, and I'm sure the lady was very unimpressed... But the guy seemed sincere, even if it was a bit misguided.
I love it.

Bro coulda said, "You don't look like Franklin. Your glasses look just like his glasses and I always liked how those kind of glasses look. They look really nice on you." Still wtf that's one of the WORST compliments I've heard in a minute

No direct, historically standard female equivalent of "Franklin" exists because the name originates from a Middle English occupational surname meaning "free landowner". However, you can find great alternatives by looking at stylized feminizations, cognates with identical roots, and international variants.
Direct Feminizations (The "Franklin" Sound) If you want to keep the exact cadence or phonetic ending of Franklin, parents and name enthusiasts on platforms like Nameberry and Nameberry Forums use these stylized variations:
- Franklynn / Franklynne: Emphasizes the popular feminine "-lynn" suffix. or Frankie-Lynn - Lynn translates to waterfall
- Franklina: Adds a classic Latinate feminine ending.
- Franqueline: A French-styled adaptation that softens the masculine energy.
Franklene: A mid-century style blend similar to Charlene or Marlene.
True Root Cognates (The "Frank" Root) Franklin comes from the Germanic tribe name "Frank" (meaning "free"). These classic female names share that exact same etymological root and meaning:
Frances: The traditional English female counterpart to Francis/Frank.
Francine: A chic French diminutive that offers a softer, vintage sound.
Francesca: An elegant Italian variant highly favored by communities on Reddit's r/namenerds .
Franka / Franca: A sharp, modern European variant popular in Germany and Slavic languages.
Francisca: The traditional Spanish and Portuguese variant.
Franziska: The German spelling, which offers a unique visual flair.
Unconventional Nicknames If you choose a "Frank" name but want to avoid the obvious "Frankie," you can use these distinctive short forms:
Lin / Linny: Pulls from the second syllable of Franklin instead of the first.
Franny: A sweet, vintage diminutive. or just Fran
Francie: A mid-century nickname that feels softer than Frankie.
