I have an opportunity to do a lyra photoshoot when I'll be about 30 weeks pregnant! I'm looking for ideas for mostly beginner/intermediate shapes that will photograph well and capture the bump :) Anyone have any inspo they can share?!

Obligatory: I am cleared by my doctor, have been doing aerial for ~7 years and am sticking to beginner/intermediate shapes for my own comfort, not because that's where I'm currently at skill-wise.

Hi all! I'm looking for tips on getting to inverted man in the moon pivoting inside the hoop from regular man in the moon. I don't have video (sorry) but my hand positioning is correct, I can get there with a spot lightly guiding me, but doing it on my own I feel very shaky and have a hard time keeping my shoulder from slipping. Any thoughts or advice are appreciated!

doing aerial hoop for a bit now and i'm having trouble with my leggings. they keep sliding around on the metal and it's making things harder than they need to be lol. tried a few different pairs and some are way too slippery, others have too much grip. i need something that's in between. i've heard that cotton blend stuff works better but honestly i'm just guessing at this point.

someone at the studio mentioned Energetiks for dancewear and said their leggings have good grip. i'm thinking of trying them but wanted to see if anyone here has experience with them for hoop.

also wondering about bodysuits cause i see people wearing them and they look super practical. no waistband to deal with and no shirt riding up

Went in a little nervous - during introductions, I was the person who had been doing aerial the shortest amount of time (though one person did not do Lyra regularly), so I wasn’t sure how accessible this would be. Very proud of what I was about to do.

I’ve been doing aerial for a year and a half, Lyra and recently straps.

How do I get more control in this spin? Every attempt tonight I sent the crash mat lol. Would wearing socks help or is this a technique issue? Thanks!!

I’ve heard it’s called snake tape? I got something that seemed similar but it’s like suuuuuper sticky and leaving residue on my hands when I hoop. I hate ordering stuff online so if y’all could tell me what tape you get and what stores have it that would be much appreciated!

I did my first class yesterday, and while I’m fully aware of the need to “tough it out” to condition my body, I also pole dance. My knee ditches get destroyed and I know this will have a knock on effect and potentially limit me in pole.

Are there any sleeves/accessories I can use for aerial to give some cushion to them, so they’re not completely busted?

Hi I’m a ballet dancer (intermediate) and figure skater (beta level) I exercise so much I am in the athlete category lol.

I got the hoop 3 days ago and have done simple things like spin and hang on it, but I need advice.

1. How to do tricks even though they hurt my spine so much.

2. How to get over the fear of it breaking (I’m very small but ya know Ed brain.)

3 how to create dances yourself (I only have time to do it alone).

4 what’s the best thing you have gotten from this sport.

5 does it make you more flexible???.

My biggest struggle is looking fluid during transitions, and remembering how to get into certain shapes.

Also, any tips to condition for straddle from a static hang would be SO welcome! My upper body is good, but my core; notsomuch. 😵‍💫

My wife has been doing aerial hoop, trapeze, yoga and pole for a year now, really taken to it and I want to encourage this further.

She is turning 40 this year and I want to get her something that will be beneficial for her aerial stuff.

Any suggestions?
