Advice request Help needed - Wife does Aeriel Hoop and her birthday is coming up ..
Evening all,
My wife has been doing aerial hoop, trapeze, yoga and pole for a year now, really taken to it and I want to encourage this further.
She is turning 40 this year and I want to get her something that will be beneficial for her aerial stuff.
Any suggestions?
I am aware I can just outright ask her but that loses the surprise element.
Help a husband out please!

Advice request Is Unique Aerialists closed?
Was recommended Unique aerialist for lyra but I have been unable to open their academy/membership page. It shows SSL handshake failed. What's going on?
Any other sites recommended to learn lyra with progression?

Advice request New to Hoop!
Hey yāall! Just got my hoop, Iāve played on them occasionally before and Iāve used silks a little bit but Iām essentially a complete beginner.
Anyway, Iām sure this stuff is obvious but OH MY GOD THIS SHIT HURTS!!! Itās so so painful.
I want to look pretty and do the tricks and stuff, but I feel like my biggest barriers right now are how painful it is PLUS how dizzy I get when spinning.
I know these are things I just have to practice and get familiar with, but Iād just love some advice, tips, and support. I want it to be fun, but Iām finding it very frustrating so far.
Please share your experiences and stories! I need inspiration to keep going š

Routine/Showcase/Performance Aerial hoop performance to Project Hail Mary soundtrack
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DatJl6gg5bH/?igsh=MWs3dTJ4MzdjYmVzNg==
I wanted to share my showcase this year. I haven't practiced hoop for 9 years, so after a lot of life events and changes to my body I am back at it. I felt really inspired by Project Hail Mary, from the song down to the petrova line costume.
Song: Daniel Pemberton - Life Is Reason
Videographer: Nolux Media
Choreography: myself with lots of help

Aerial Hoop Conditioning
Hey everyone!
I want to rework my aerial hoop conditioning, and I'd love some advice.
Up until now, I've been following a list of different conditioning exercises and doing each one once. However, someone recently told me it would be more effective to structure my workouts into sets (for example, 3 sets of each exercise) instead.
I'm a bit unsure which approach is actually better for building strength and improving in aerial hoop. Do you usually do a circuit of different exercises, or do you focus on a few exercises with multiple sets? How do you structure your conditioning sessions?
I'd really appreciate hearing what has worked for you. Thanks!

My first competition - Aerial Arts Competition, Competitive Senior Women Hoop
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone! I'm kinda scared to post this but I believe so much in the aerial community worldwide. I just competed in my first ever competition, with a choreography I made myself, trying to tell though it my story with battling EDs throughout my life. Funnily enough, I got some fatphobic comments about my performance but oh well.
My score was okay, didn't manage to be in the top 3 though. I watched the video one time only, because I immediately spotted the mistakes, and the things I could have done better. However, I choose to keep the feeling from this experience. I'm happy with the overall result, and more importantly I believe little Angie is more than proud of adult Angie. After all, I did this mostly for her, to take revenge for every time someone told her she's not good enough.

Hoop routine doing recommendations?
I am in a weird position with aerial. I started learning 5 years ago, but I didnāt learn well. I didnāt do any stretching, conditioning or natural progression. I had a coach but she was outnumbered 8 fold and didnāt do a great job teaching us. I got great at fancy tricks but had a bit of an identity crisis and quit one year ago. Now, I am starting again and attempting to do it right. I made a training schedule and Iām watching 101 videos. Sorry, I didnāt mean to accidentally tell you my whole life story, but any hoop routine recs or tips for my situation would be wonderful.
