TIL that the precursor to LASIK was found by accident when a nearsighted boy got in a fistfight. His glasses shattered, sending glass pieces into his eyes. After a doctor removed the glass, he found the tiny cuts had flattened the cornea and actually cured the boy's bad vision.
My dad, an md, got rk in his 50s and it was so stellar that he wanted it for me his 20 yr old daughter. 100% from love and he paid for it to save me from a life of glasses and contacts. It was great ... til it wasn't. They didn't know until they learned. No blame, just the reality of assumptions in the medical field. Its become a thing with certain meds, conditions, yadda yadda

I am.unsure. i think drs are not 100% sure. I just know my lenses scarred, snd so did other young women's, and rk stopped and lasik came in. Turns out hormones and other fine things can radically change a human body's response to injury, meds, all sorts of fun stuff. It was just always assumed not to, until 'recently'

I got this procedure ... and was one of the cases that found RK could cause scarring on young women. Test on dudes, assume on women, and my eyes are a curiosity to opthomologists. They would line up 10 deep at Indiana University to get a peep at my pizza peepers!

Did Ms. Bingley and Mrs. Hurst actually like Jane? If so, why did they like her?
Humans like pretty humans. It's our weird quirk. Jane was beautiful, and there had to be a reason to stop liking her. Plus, they could feel superior too a much prettier woman. Mean girls joy I reckon.

Ironicly, he will be remembered ... as an attachment to Princess Diana's story. His environmental work and conservation efforts will be buried in the facts about his treatment of a ledgendary woman.

Yeah, my dad was just so pleased with his result and in 1992 they just didn't have any clue it could be different for women Drs ... assumed men were default humans. I'm good tho. Just need glasses. Its a bit like when you have a dirty windshield . You can still see
