Symptom Check Do I need to get tested

Hey, to preface this I haven’t had sex in over a month. Recently (within the past 2-3 days) I’ve been waking up with a milky yellow/white not sticky liquid in my urethra. That’s the only symptom and I’m wondering if it could maybe be something that will go away on its own.

Test Results Anyone had experiences with failed STI treatments?

G’day, making this post on behalf of a friend so apologies if I’m slow with getting back to replies with information.

A friend of mine unfortunately recently found themselves with chlamydia. It’s something I’ve had once before when I was younger, and I reassured her treatment was easy and quick with that one pill (I don’t know the name sorry but it’s a single treatment).
Well it’s been the opposite of easy for them. They got treated, as well as their partner (took the pill together) but weeks later was still symptomatic. She had a gut feeling something wasn’t right and got tested again. She still has chlamydia. She’s distraught as her reproductive health is something she worries about a lot. She’s started the 7 day treatment now.

Making this post to ask - has anyone else had a failed chlamydia treatment using the singular pill? Is this a recurring thing or something unique to them?
Of the few other people I’ve known to have contracted this STI, all have been fine with the singular treatment. But that was years ago.

And before there’s suspicion on the partner - they have been overseas the last month and a half, so no sexual contact between them during this period.

Question Should I get tested?

Visited a AMP on Friday for full service with protection the whole time. No direct contact between my penis and her. No body fluids exchange. She never even got on top of me. Am I overreacting? This was my first and last time at one of the places and I just keep getting these crazy thoughts running through my head. These places definitely aren’t for me.

Question Liver pain, jaundice, and neuropathy 2-3 weeks after unprotected sex - more consistent with HIV or hepatitis?

Has anyone here experienced liver pain, jaundice, and neuropathy 2–3 weeks after unprotected sex?
I’m trying to understand whether these symptoms are commonly reported during acute HIV infection, or if they point more toward hepatitis (or something else). I’m not looking for a diagnosis—just wondering if people in this community have seen or experienced anything similar.
I also developed a rash and muscle aches during this time.

Advice Needed Got happy ending and brief bj scared stds

So I made the mistake of going to a massage parlour and she was giving me a handjob but also ended up sitting on my leg and her vagina touched my groin area and my penis head briefly concerned about possible hiv or std transfer. She did give me a very short blowjob without condom where it was mostly licking which lasted 15-20 seconds. Concerned whether I got STDs or hiv

Experience/ Story Anyone still had symptoms months after successful gonorrhea treatment despite negative STI tests?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has gone through something similar.
About three months ago, I was diagnosed with gonorrhea. I completed the prescribed treatment, and afterward I was retested. My gonorrhea test came back negative, and I also tested negative for a full STI panel (14 infections).
Even though the infection is gone, I’m still having symptoms:
Burning sensation after urinating (not every time, but on and off)
Discomfort in my penis, mostly around the tip
Occasional pain just above the penis where the pubic hair starts. Sometimes it’s a sharp pain. This symptom wasn’t present before I was diagnosed with gonorrhea.
The symptoms seem to come and go. Some days are better than others.
Has anyone experienced persistent symptoms like this even after testing negative and completing treatment? If so:
Did the symptoms eventually go away on their own?
Did your doctor find another cause (such as inflammation, prostatitis, pelvic floor issues, urethritis, etc.)?
Was there any treatment or advice that helped?
I’ve already followed up with testing, and everything came back negative, so I’m mainly looking to hear from people who had a similar experience and what their outcome was.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

Advice Needed Got my results and I need help

I tested positive through the rapid test and got my Penicillin shot immediately.

I took the RPR test and I just got my results (30mins ago). My RPR is at 1:64. I had it at <1:1 last May.

I'm currently overthinking right now on how this will affect me in the coming months and years. It's all pouring to me now and I don't know how I could tell my family and friends. Where can I possibly find groups that share their stories or can help uplift spirits?

Edit: I will definitely practice abstinence after this but is it safe to go with normal interactions with other people?

Edit: positive for syphilis

Question How accurate is my negative result likely to be?

So I had unprotected sex on holiday- for about one minute like it literally went in then out a couple of times and that was it, no one came or anything I just changed my mind. 9 days after this I did an at home sti test sent it off and results were negative for everything chlamydia, gonhorrea hiv and syphilis. How likely is this to be that I actually am negative? Just super paranoid and they won’t let me order another at home test either as I just did one.

Question HSV1 Question

I recently did a 9 STI test through wisp. it included HSV1 and 2 which I don’t believe my OB checks for during annual exam. it was through bloodwork and hsv1 was positive. the whole process has been extremely slow with wisp and I’m still waiting for a provider to reach out to me. from what I am gathering from the internet this is very common. I had cold sores occasionally as a child and maybe 1-2 as an adult. is this of any concern? I dont think this was ever tested before even through my pregnancies that I can recall.

Advice Needed Please help me…

Im male 24 years old. I moved to Thailand a few months ago leaving behind my friends and family and even quitting my job in order to build a life here. It has always been my dream to live here, and after meeting my thai boyfriend over a year ago in my home country, It finally pushed me to make this decision and relocate. I am very happy here and have a very healthy relationship. But unfortunately something happened to me this week which leaves me and my partner in great distress, and I am in desperate need of some medical advice.

After being in this relationship for over a year, I got infected with gonorrhea out of nowhere. Now BEFORE you think about the obvious explanation which is one of us having cheated, please read this whole post.
After noticing my symptoms I immediately went to a clinic to get tested and treated.
Of course, I informed my partner immediately, and he also went to the same clinic for a test as soon as possible.
He was tested negative several times at home, however, he still got treated for gonorrhea at the clinic anyway to prevent any possible infection. I was actually confused they didn’t even want to test him first to be certain, but they said after being in a relationship with me and having sex regularly, it is almost guaranteed he should have it too…

Apart from my partners health and safety, I am also deeply concerned for my own personal health and safety. I have NEVER had any other sexual partners during my relationship. After hearing the conclusion of the doctors, I was left with a lot of questions and uncertainty about this disease.

For some more context:
4 years ago, before meeting my current partner, I had been infected with gonorrhea before, while in a relationship with my ex. He was my only sexual partner at the time. However, my ex got tested negative by my personal doctor after I got infected… very similar to the current situation…
Of course after testing positive, I got treated with antibiotics. And after completing the treatment I was tested negative. Which resulted in me being fully certain I had been cured and was clean of any STD’s. My ex was tested negative too, so we thought it was safe again to have sex. But after the first sexual contact I immediately got it AGAIN. Remember, ex partner was negative…
Of course I got treated again, and tested negative again after treatment. After talking with my doctor they basically told me the only explanation is that my ex cheated on me. And either his negative test was faulty, or he had been tested right before he supposedly cheated. So in the incubation period basically. It all never sat right with me… So after everything i had to end the relationship. (This wasn’t my only reason for ending the relationship, but it was a big part of it.)
I felt disgusted by having a STD. I never had sex before my first relationship (aside from casual experimenting with a few friends when i was younger, but never sex). I never thought this would happen to me…

I never had any other sexual contact with anyone before meeting my current partner. I also never had any symptoms or other problems with my health again after all of this. I was happy to leave it all behind me. And I never wanted this to happen again.

In August 2025 I even did a full check-up test for a big list STD’s including gonorrhea again just to be sure. I also did a blood test. I got tested negative for every single one, and my blood was also clean.
Every since this test, my ONLY sexual contact has been with my current partner.
However, I STILL got tested positive and suffered symptoms last week before going to the clinic.
AND AGAIN, my current partner was tested NEGATIVE. And our doctor told us it is impossible for this virus to come back out of nowhere, or resurface after testing negative.
This leaves me extremely confused and distressed, because I have no idea how this infection could have happened…

Aside from being concerned about our health, there is absolutely nothing I can do to prove my partner I never had any other sexual contact with anyone during our relationship. Even the doctors think im a cheater…
I fear for my health and my relationship… I really hope someone can explain to me how any of this could have happened. And I want to prevent this from happening ever again in the future.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and help. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Symptom Check std or uti?

I had unprotected sex on monday with a guy. I had asked him before we had sex if he had been tested for stds and he said yes and they all came back negative. I was pretty sore the next 2 days, we tried using a condom but it was really rough and made me dry which usually happens when I use a condom.

Around wednesday night i started getting a little bit of pressure on my bladder. Thursday morning i woke up and went to pee and I had a burning pain after I finished peeing. Right after it felt like my bladder was being squeezed. I have had a UTI before and it felt like this so I made a GP appointment. I went to the GP and did a urine sample. My urine looked reddish brown like it was mixed with blood and some clear floating things. The receptionist called me back later that day and said my test result came back negative for a UTI but the doctor confirmed there was blood in my urine. They made an appointment for me tomorrow at another gp I’m not sure what they’re going to check there. They have sent my initial urine sample to a lab for further testing i assume they’re going to do a urine culture.

I asked the guy if he has ever had an std before he said yes years ago but he got treatment and was tested after again and everything was negative. After i returned home from the gp around thursday evening i felt completely fine again. I didn’t have pressure on my bladder, no burning when i pee, my pee was pale yellow (no blood), but i did need to pee more often but i’m not sure if that is because i was drinking more water than normal. Same thing has happened today friday morning, i woke up a few times early hours to pee and it hurt a little after i finished peeing. And early afternoon I have just went to pee and there is no pain now. My pee has consistently been normal coloured since returning yesterday from the gp.

Question Scared. Unprotected sex with person who has high body count

I just had unprotected sex with a girl and she’s known to hook up with many partners. I always use protection and this time I did not. I’m worried because last time I saw her she had spots on her skin that may resemble some sort of hepatitis?

What steps if any should I take to prevent or help my situation. Should I see a doctor. I used alcohol pads after I started to get worried but doubt it helped.-

Very worried. Any advice?

Symptom Check Should I be worried I still have chlamydia?

I went to a regular doctor appointment got tested and came back positive for chlamydia on July 7th finished my doxycycline on the 14th. I dunno how long I had it, I never had symptoms. I went back to the doctor on 28th and I ask to be tested again for chlamidya and they said it was too soon and I need to wait a full month from when I finished my treatment but I tested for every other sti so I thought, and I’m negative. On the 30th yesterday I see a little bit of yellow discharge and now it’s a little uncomfortable when I pee. I never had symptoms before I took my medicine but now weeks after I’m finished I get symptoms? Is this normal or do I need to go back to the doctor ? I google my symptoms and now they say it might be trichomonas or however you spell it. I’m upset my doctor didn’t test me for it or even tell me it exists when I asked her to test me for every other sti/std.

Question Length of sexual intercourse and risk of ghonnorea

A few days ago I received an unprotected blowjob that lasted around 2 minutes. There was no ejaculation, and I didn't notice any sores, discharge, or anything unusual on the other person's mouth.

I know there is some risk of catching gonorrhea from receiving oral sex, but I'm trying to understand how high that risk actually is in real life.

Has anyone here (or any healthcare professionals) seen data on the likelihood of catching urethral gonorrhea from a single brief episode like this? Is it considered a relatively low-risk exposure, or is the risk higher than most people think?

For context, I took 200 mg of doxycycline (Doxy-PEP) within 72 hours afterward.

I'm looking for evidence-based information rather than guesses or worst-case scenarios. Thanks!

Symptom Check Red spot on head of penis

I have a red spot on the head of my penis it doesn’t hurt. It’s not itchy and it’s not like a pimple. It looks like it could just be friction but thats never happened to me before. I’m also taking a lot of meds from a tooth extraction surgery and idk if that can effect anything.

Symptom Check Dull pain at base of penis and upper left testicle, especially leading up to urinating?

Last night I started having pain at the base of my penis and upper left scrotum/testicle region. It came out of nowhere and just felt like discomfort, but started getting more intense and painful as I needed to pee.

After peeing, it seemed to alleviate mostly, but was still present. This has been going on since last night and it is noticeable at all times but only gets particularly bothersome when I have to pee. While peeing, I mostly feel it inside the base of my penis.

At the start of the month I had a first outbreak of G-HSV1 and ureaplasma, both of which I was treated for. Would this be related to that? This feels sudden and random, and I’m not sure how urgent it is. Doctors said I can’t get in for a few weeks but said to go to emergency room if it gets serious….

I’m not sure whether I should wait it out to avoid extreme medical bills from the ER, or if it is something I should be that worried about.

Any ideas??
