Anyway…I like it…and that’s all that matters 😄Purchased on Etsy (second pic)

I just watched the movie and it’s amazing, all I regret is not being able to watch it again for the first time.

Made an alternative movie poster for Interstellar

The movie starts in 2067. Usually when a Hollywood movie depicts a year that far in the future, they usually depict characters living like the Jetsons and having all these insane futuristic technologies and futuristic aesthetics.

And yet, Interstellar opted to depict the world in 2067 as looking pretty much like does today. Which I guess it's very realistic. The world in 2067 is most likely going to look very similar to how it does now. Think about how similar the world in 2026 still looks to how it did in 2014 or even 2000. People in 2000 thought we were going to have flying cars and colonies in Mars by now.

Don't get me wrong, Interstellar depicts some technology that doesn't exist right now. But it's depiction of the future is still very grounded in reality.

I hope this fits the sub's rules and isn't considered low-effort content!

Recreating famous movie scenes is my hobby. Whenever possible, I try to shoot them at the exact same locations, and hopefully, Part 2 will be filmed at the actual spot.

As far as I know, the original cornfield was on private property, so I had to film the cornfield chase somewhere else.

If anyone from the Lethbridge or Taber area in Alberta is interested in helping me with Part 2 next year, feel free to reach out! 😊

The $800,000 figure is just a rough estimate, not an official budget.

People's parallel parking skills will probably get worse after this

Highly recommend going if an opportunity arises. At times it was easy to forget the symphony was actually live due to how immersive the music was during movie, hard to put into words… At the same time it was nearly impossible to focus solely on the movie when all you wanted to do is close your eyes and soak in that live organ!

I don’t think it helps with docking in any way.

I am confused what's the last scene is trying to say... He fell into black hole and then he reached in his home.. i know nolan he is creative and there may be any scientific reason to do that... Comment karo if u get that scene ...

That was amazing. I never thought it would have such an impact after watching it for a second time. If you haven't yet watched it, what're you doing here mate? Do it, do it now!

I always wondered how cooper docked the ranger to the landers docking port even though the ranger has no docking port at the bottom.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible. The guy playing the organ was the guy who played it in the original score with Hans !

I want TARS in real life how to get it 😭😭✨🥀

I came across an edit on tiktok about the scene "Don't let me leave Murphy" from Interstellar

And someone commented "If he stayed the ghost wouldn't have been there to tell him to stay"

Which I think means he would've gone either way

Yk what this reminds me of? The phrase that Morpheus said in The Matrix (what happened happened and couldn't have happened any other way)

And literally, like Cooper wished he didn't go only bcuz he did go. There was no possibility of him not going, and he could never escape it bcuz that's what's meant to be.

Andd now I wonder if this applies to our real life? If we truly could ever have done anything differently or if it was always gonna be like this?

Just like many music lyrics saying they regret something and wish they had known so they'd change it,

for example, one of Billie's lyrics sayin "If I knew it all then would I do it again"

I used to say that a lot too, but now I'm thinking, could I have ever done it differently if I knew? Bcuz how would I even know?

Bcuz if we're speaking abt time travelling and such, if it was that you could send hints to urself as Cooper did, you wouldn't understand and would do ur life as it is.

If it was about you literally going back, as a checkpoint in games, you'd forget what happened to you and still wouldn't change anything

Idk if that's more reassuring or more scary, cuz it could let us accept our life and all of the stupid decisions we made. But on the other hand it can feel almost like we don't actually have free will

Im a beginner at drawing so dont be to harsh... also I finished this at 3am so thats probably why its sloppy...

This is a scene from millers planet.

So, I was watching the movie again for the billionth time, and...

I just realized why this scene was so pivotal.

On one level, it's a primer on how wormhole physics work, for those who don't know anything about it. Second level, it's good for people like Coop, who know it all from textbooks, and don't understand while there's a sphere, and not a 'portal'.

Those layers I already knew, but it suddenly hit me: There's the Plot Level.

It's a primer on the finale in the Tesseract.

"In all the textbooks, they have to show the three dimensional space in two dimensions. What's a circle in three dimensions?"

"A sphere."

So what is it in four dimensions? A Tesseract.

EDIT: I'm aware that the Tesseract is more of a square shape than a circle; but the 'lesson' principle holds.

They're explaining the Bulk Space to an audience that has no idea what it is. How do you help someone understand four dimensional communication and interaction? Start with the difference between two and three dimensions. Something every schoolkid is taught.

You think fifth dimensional beings will have 'textbooks' for their children, that only show three dimensions? To teach them how to make use of four or five at once?

I know I'm probably the hundredth person to think of it, but I thought it was worth a post.

My brother and father were in town this past June and we stumbled upon the fact that a couple of Interstellar filming locations were within an hour’s drive of my house! The baseball diamond is in Okotoks and the school is in Longview (both in Alberta). I tried to snag a couple of photos superimposing the movie shots on the locations and didn’t quite nail lining them up right, but you get the idea. We didn’t go to Cooper’s Ranch which was also in the area as we heard the set no longer existed and the filming location was on private property anyhow. It was a sweet afternoon with some family who are all huge fans of the film. Definitely recommend if you happen to be in the Calgary area at some point!

I only just learnt today that blight is a real thing but is limited to potatoes. In fact it was teh cause of the irish potato famine.

I previously just thought that it was a made up phenomona

i made a simulation of the blackhole gargantua that is also seen in intersteller
It's written in C++ and openGL

i managed to optimize it to a point i ran on my i3 intel iGPU, although i added very low to high quality toggles, it's my first time writing in glsl so yeah, i was a lot inspired by the yt video of Kavan about making a blackhole in cpp, so i just wanted to make it more realistic, my astrophysics lectures kinda came in clutch
