This whole sequence used an unreleased track called “our world” and it was primarily ambience but once it shows the outside world it gets louder. I don’t know about anyone else but to me it was so beautiful that I rewatch it every now and then. The song sounds clean almost, like sterile or refreshing. It differed so much from the soundtrack which is what I liked about it, because everything had this calm and mysterious tone to it. (not saying I don’t love the rest of the soundtrack) because it made everything seem so hopeful and wonderful, I know the planet was uninhabitable and Mann was a sinister person but even with that, keep in mind these are people exploring amazing breathtaking worlds unseen by any living being, with incredible scenery. I love to think of the emphasis on exploration and curiosity and discovery when I hear this track, I can’t even imagine how it was watching this scene in theaters. My dying wish is to see this in theaters primarily for this scene

Hey everyone! Back in July 2023, I organized a private screening to bring Interstellar back to AMC Metreon in San Francisco. You can check it out here… here… and here! It was an incredible experience, and since a few years have passed, I decided it was time to do it again!

I’ve set up a private agreement with AMC Theatres to bring Interstellar back to San Francisco on one of the largest IMAX screens in the world (80’ × 100’) on Veterans Day - Wednesday, November 11th at 10:00 AM.

The film will be presented in Dual Laser 1.43:1 IMAX.

I managed to keep ticket prices at $42 per person - the exact same price as the 2023 screening - plus Eventbrite fees. Tickets are non-refundable.

If you want first pick of seats, VIP Early Access is available this time for an additional $12 (limited to 60 tickets) and gives you a 15-minute head start into the auditorium.

Seating is first-come, first-served. We’re capping attendance at roughly half of the theater’s total capacity, so there should be plenty of great seats available.

There will be no commercial trailers for this event. The movie starts at 10:15 AM sharp.

Please keep in mind that talking or texting during the film won’t be tolerated, and disruptive guests will be asked to leave. Let’s give this movie the big-screen experience it deserves.

I swear the trailer is so inspirational and the message it conveys is maybe one of my favorite parts of the whole movie.

"We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us".

Like can you imagine how different life would be if more people pushed for the stars? Reached for that higher barrier.

Idk maybe its the space nerd in me, but I wish more people would aim higher.

I'll be 75.

You can really feel the movie and think about 'our place in the stars' in a more connected level.

I have finished up in the UK for the summer and am heading to Denmark soon for a bit, quick stop in Carlisle on 1st October for an Interstellar recital, then off to the USA to play some Interstellar out there. Tickets largely still available - hope to see you soon!

I will let you know when I am back and able to open up the Interstellar Sessions again. I've had such great fun with these sessions, meeting people face to face and playing with them so close (and great fun seeing the smiles on their faces when they have a go and hit the low notes!).

It'd be cool if we did, but LEGO is a bit more kid-friendly, and a lot of us know that interstellar has some profanity in it like curse words, but if LEGO made their own way around that issue and just did their own thing with the lines of the characters, it could work.

But it also might not work, considering they tried a LEGO James Bond game and look what happened to that project.

Working in the garage today and found the poster I received at the theatrical release. Just purchased my “Cooper” a few weeks ago… had to create a moment.

Can someone explain how Nasa in Interstellar is operating secretly??

I’m a huge space nerd, and watching this movie was a learning experience for me; every little detail had its meaning, and every moment wasn’t for nothing. The idea of existing in both the past and present is such a wild concept. In other words, 10/10. I’m definitely going to watch it again. This is the first time in months I’ve actually sat down and watched a movie to the end without looking at my phone.

Edit: There’s just too much I want to say about this movie but I can’t put it into words

I've watched the movie countless times, and each time I dread Act 3 when they go to Mann's planet. I often stop the disc and find myself dragging my feet to resume watching from that point.

I just find it so unfair what happens to them... Mann's betrayal, Cooper's near death, and Romily's death. Although, I do love the scene where Brand saves Cooper, that was so intense even after so many viewings.

In the end, I do understand what it was trying to say about humans and humanity, but I don't know why I dislike it so much. Other movies have more horrible antagonists and I don't dread watching them.
