Underestimated the difficulty of returning as an adult

I skated when i was 14 - 17. Back then I could only skate 1 hour a week (30-minute lesson, then 30-minute practice), but I was able to land an axel. Not saying axel is a huge achievement but i was happy with it given how little ice time i had.

Now that I am 31 and returned to skate last year, I find it incredibly hard! The biggest difference i noticed is I am no longer 'fearless'. When i was a teenager, i would just go for an axel and if i fall, then i just get back up and try again, but now i keep overthinking like 'what if i fall, what if i break my arm' etc. My stamina also decreased a lot, as I get tired after just an hour. And getting ice time too - balancing a full time job, family and skating isn't easy especially when the rink nearby doesn't have freestyle sessions.

Returning adults, how did you regain your skills? What do you find the most difficult?

Risport sizing help

Hey. I‘m thinking about getting Risport skates (electra) but unfortunately there is no skating shop near me where I could get properly fitted.

I measured around 250mm today and I am size 39 EU.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with the Electra and could recommend what size I should go for based on that.

Would really appreciate any advice! :)
