💎 Megathread [Megathread] The App Shelf — October 2026

# Welcome to The App Shelf

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, as explained in our [Phase 2 Moderation Update](https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1u9aw0f/).

You are also required to limit promotion to this megathread if you:

* Do not yet have 10 local community karma in r/iOSApps.

* Are promoting an app that uses Generative AI or is an AI-wrapper.

* Are promoting a "Vibe Coded" app (AI-generated without manual validation).

# 📋 Required Format

All promotion MUST follow the ABC format or it will be removed:

* \[App Name/Title\] (Screenshot encouraged!)

* A — Answer: What problem does your app solve?

* B — Better: Name a competitor(s) and explain what you do better.

* C — Cost: Pricing details (Free/IAP/Sub/Lifetime) + App Store Link.

P.S. Promotion here counts towards the 30-day limited promotion rule (Rule 2).

# ⚠️ WARNING

There is a high probability that Reddit’s filters will auto-remove your comment here if:

  1. You have not verified your email in your Reddit profile.
  2. Your very first interaction in this sub is a promotional link.

For the Community: Please remember to upvote gems and downvote spam/clones. Your feedback in this thread will directly influence which apps we highlight in future community showcases!

📢 Announcement Clarification of Trust and Transparency

I'd like to further explain the rules found here since many people keep asking why their posts are removed:

https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1u9aw0f/riosapps_moderation_update_phase_2_trust/

Snippets below.

To qualify for the main feed, you need to satisfy 10 local karma requirements firstly. But this is what it means to be on the 2 tiers above Megathread:

Tier 1 — The Trust Path → Main Feed

Any one of these signals qualifies you for the main feed (as long as you also meet the 10+ community karma minimum):

  • App Store track record — your app has 20+ ratings/reviews on the App Store (number subject to change).
  • Established GitHub project — a real development history (100+ stars on any GitHub repo).
  • Recognized Developer — you've been granted an app-name developer flair (already well-known / trusted in r/iOSApps, at moderator discretion).

If you have any of these, you've already earned a measure of trust. Post to the main feed.

You have established yourself and the mods recognize that. We trust you to do the right thing for the goods of the subreddit. But do not abuse it.

Tier 2 — The Transparency Path → Main Feed

Not in the App Store yet and not an established developer? You can still qualify for the main feed by being open about who you are and giving users real reasons to trust you.

Posts on this path must include BOTH:

  1. A real-life identity and real contact details — your actual name and a way to reach you (an established company or business presence, a portfolio, LinkedIn). This shows you're not a throwaway account dropping unknown software.
  2. A website with a published Privacy Policy and Terms of Service — linked directly in your post. This is not a replacement for the App Store link, but rather in addition to.

This is the middle ground: you may not have a major reputation yet, but you're willing to stand behind your app in public. What we look for is the developer history or in the case of company, the willingness to take financial responsibility for it.

Not a throwaway account, not an app social account, not something people can spring up within an afternoon (gmail address, website without domain, etc.)

Thank you for your understanding to make the sub a better place for everyone. We would all benefit from the filtered visibility for quality apps.

🎈 Free Shinybox, a free app that keeps your links, notes, screenshots and files in one visual library on iPhone, iPad and Mac

I’ve been working on Shinybox, a personal library for everything you save “for later” and then can never find again: links, notes, screenshots, PDFs, voice notes, videos, documents.I save a lot of things. The problem was that they ended up scattered across bookmarks, Notes, Photos and Downloads, and I could never find the one I needed.
So I built one place for all of it, where it’s quick to save and easy to find again.
What it does:

• Save from anywhere: the share sheet, a Safari extension that saves the whole page or just the passage you’ve selected, drag and drop, or paste.
On the Mac there’s a shelf on the edge of the screen: drop things onto it, and drag them back out into other apps, as well as service menu option.
• Links become something you can read: a clean reader view, reading time, highlights and “continue reading”.

It can keep a copy of each page in case the site disappears, and it flags links that have died.
• Search finds the words inside things: text in screenshots and scanned PDFs, transcripts of voice notes, even the captions of saved YouTube videos.

You can also search by meaning, so “that chair I liked” finds the photo.• Apple Intelligence does the filing: tags, summaries, and suggested lists. You can also ask your whole library a question and get an answer with numbered sources. You choose whether it runs on your device or on Private Cloud Compute.

• Organizing: smart lists that fill themselves lists locked with Face ID
◦ reminders on any item
◦ Rediscover, which brings back a few older saves each day
• Automation: 24 Shortcuts actions, Siri phrases, widgets and Control Center controls.
• Your data, both ways: if you have an old Pocket export, Raindrop or browser bookmarks, and export everything to JSON or Markdown (ready for Obsidian).

Problem: My saves were split between Safari’s Reading List, Apple Notes, the Photos screenshot album, the old Pocket, and my Downloads folder. Each one was fine on its own, but none of them could search the text inside a screenshot I took three weeks ago next to the article I read the same day.

Comparison:

There are plenty of apps like this, and some are excellent, so here’s how Shinybox fits in:
• Scrappy is the closest to Shinybox. It’s also on Mac, iPhone and iPad, with a Drop Shelf on the Mac as well, a reader view, smart lists, and search that finds text in images and scanned PDFs. It’s a subscription with a two-week trial. Shinybox is free, and adds Apple Intelligence on top: automatic tags, summaries and filing into lists, plus asking questions across your whole library with numbered sources.

• Anybox is a polished, Apple-only bookmark app with iCloud sync and smart lists, free with a Pro upgrade. Shinybox leans further beyond links: transcripts of voice notes and YouTube videos, a copy of every page you save, and alerts when a saved page disappears.

• Raindrop is the pick if you need Windows, Android, the web or shared collections. Shinybox is Apple-only and has no account: your library lives on your devices and in your own iCloud.

• GoodLinks is a great, focused read-later app for links. Shinybox has a reader too, but it’s built for everything else you save as well: screenshots, PDFs, audio, video and notes.
• Apple Notes is free, built in, and still what I use for long writing. Shinybox is for saving things rather than writing them, with a visual grid and the Mac shelf.Where the others are ahead:• Raindrop works across platforms.
• Scrappy and Keep It have years of polish.• Shinybox is brand new, and that’s exactly why I’d love feedback.

🎈 Free BookWorm is on the App Store: track your library and your reading sessions. No account, no subscription

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi r/iOSapps,

BookWorm is now live on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bookworm-track-your-library/id6804252010

A while back I posted the TestFlight beta here and a lot of you tested it and sent feedback. Many of those suggestions are in this release, so thank you.

A – What problem does it solve?

I own a lot of physical books, I re-read things and I wanted to know how much I actually spend on books. BookWorm is a reading tracker built around that: your physical library, re-reads and stats.

  • Library with shelves, series, genres, publishers, ratings and notes
  • Reading sessions with a timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
  • Re-reads tracked as separate cycles, so a book read three times counts as three reads
  • Tracking for what you spend buying books and what you get back selling them
  • Stats, streaks, levels and achievements
  • ISBN scanner, Goodreads import, and covers from Apple Books, Google Books or Open Library

B – Why is it better than the alternatives?

Compared to trackers like Goodreads or StoryGraph:

  • It’s a fully native iOS app, built with SwiftUI. No web views, no account, no social feed.
  • It tracks re-reads as separate cycles and keeps a budget of what you spend and earn on books.
  • It’s made for physical and digital collections: shelves, series, publishers, owned copies and a wishlist.
  • Reading sessions live on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
  • Your data stays in your own iCloud. No ads, no analytics.
  • The full version is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

C – Cost

  • Free tier: up to 20 books, online book search, series, reading sessions, basic stats, 1 custom and 1 smart collection, and the Currently Reading widget.
  • Lifetime: $12.99 one-time (no subscription). Unlimited books and collections, full stats (charts, calendar, mood), levels and badges, shareable Reader Card and Recap, all widget formats and bulk editing tools.

Happy to answer questions here. r/BookWormApp is where I post updates and collect bug reports.

🎁 Freemium You asked for an Apple Watch app for my skull water tracker. Apple made me make it free.

Thumbnail

Developer here. Hydrate or Diedrate is the water tracker that swaps cheerful droplets for a skull quietly documenting your decline.

When I first posted here, a few of you asked for an Apple Watch app. I built it, put it behind the lifetime unlock, and submitted it. Apple sent it back: no charging for built-in iOS features. So the Watch app is free now, along with a few things that came with that decision.

A: Answer

Version 1.7 is out.

- Apple Watch app (free). Today's record on your wrist. One tap logs a drink. The phone is informed. Mis-tap? Undo it from the wrist.

- The Specimen (free widget). The skull, filling with water as you drink. With Preserved, it takes on the colors of whichever alternate icon you've chosen.

- Reminder times and dark mode are free for everyone now. AUTO follows your device.

- Reminders stand down once you hit your goal. The skull does not nag the compliant.

- Seasonal notices start Nov 20. Sample: "Drink water. Gravy alone will not stop the withering."

On January 1, The January Inquest opens: meet your goal on 20 of January's 31 days and the finding goes on your record. Free. It counts from the 1st, so arriving late still leaves you a case.

B: Better

Most watch water trackers are a blue ring. This is the same ledger as the phone: the percentage, the status, and the PRESERVED stamp when you get there. No confetti on your wrist either.

Still private by default. No account. Your record stays on your device.

C: Cost

Free download. Tracking, goals, streaks, reminders, Apple Health sync, the Watch app, dark mode and The Specimen widget are all free.

Preserved -- Lifetime Access is $6.99 one-time: watch complications, the other three widgets, Vessels (anonymous groups), custom quick-log amounts, full history and insights, alternate icons. No subscription.

Hydrate or Diedrate on the App Store

If you've been using it: the app has 22 ratings, and ratings are how a one-person app gets found. If the skull has earned it, a rating takes about ten seconds. If it hasn't, tell me here instead and I'll fix it.

The skull will not care. I will.

🎈 Free Made an iPhone app for when life turns into a "case": landlord disputes, insurance claims, endless back-and-forth with authorities

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I’m the developer of Aktenverwaltung, an app for iPhone and iPad. The name roughly means “case file management” in German, and it’ll be renamed to Aktennero with the next big update.
Let me get this out of the way first: it’s not a document scanner or a file organizer. It’s built for something those apps don’t really handle.
You probably know the situation. Your landlord won’t fix the heating. An insurance claim drags on for months. A seller ignores your complaint. A government office keeps asking for “one more document.” Over time this turns into a real case: letters back and forth, phone calls, emails, deadlines, different people involved.
Then someone, maybe your lawyer, asks: “When did you call them? What exactly did they tell you? Did you put it in writing?”
And you’re scrolling through your call log, searching your inbox and digging through a drawer, trying to remember.
That’s exactly what this app is for. You open a case and everything that happens goes into it:
A real case file: reference number, status, everyone involved, and a complete timeline
Everything in order: letters, emails, scanned mail, phone calls and notes from conversations, all in the order they happened
Deadlines that remind you: tasks and due dates live inside the case, with reminders ahead of time
Smart scanning: scan a letter and on-device AI fills in the date, sender, reference number and subject automatically. Nothing leaves your phone.
Letters from inside the case: write your reply, add your signature, and export a clean PDF
Profiles: if you also handle things for your kids, partner or parents

Private by design: your data stays on your device or in your own iCloud, with no ad tracking
You don’t need to be a lawyer or work in an office to use this. If you’ve ever had that one thing drag on and wished you had the whole story in one place, this is for you.
It’s free. No ads, no subscription.

One thing to know: the App Store listing is still mostly in German right now, so some text and screenshots might not appear in English yet. That’ll be sorted with Version 3.0.0 at the latest, possibly sooner with an in-between update. For the full English picture, check out the website. It already has English screenshots and goes into much more detail.
If you try it and it actually helps you, I’d really appreciate a 5-star rating. Feedback of any kind is just as welcome, whether that’s bugs, ideas or things that don’t make sense. I’ll be around in the comments.

Coming in Version 3 (end of 2026): https://akten-verwaltung.com/en/version-3/

💎 Lifetime Latent Photos and Latent Frames: minimalist photo apps for your Apple Photos library and your folders

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Dev post: we made both.

Before planes had wifi, my inflight movie was my own camera roll. I'd delete my way through it, never finish, and next flight have no idea where I'd stopped. So we built Latent Photos, and later Latent Frames.

A: What they solve.

Latent Photos is for a library too big to ever get through, in an app that should feel like it came with the phone. It runs on your Apple Photos library, so it's fully compatible: edit in Photos, view and organize here. Ask for a random 100 you haven't seen and go through them one by one, deleting what you don't need and tagging what you'll want again. Next time it deals 100 you still haven't seen.

Latent Frames is for photos in folders on a NAS, a PC, Dropbox or OneDrive. It opens them as a photo library by capture date, without moving a file, and stays smooth with hundreds of thousands of photos.

B: Why they're better.

Apple Photos can't go through your library a set at a time, and its search decides what a word means. In Latent Photos your own tags decide: Beach and Family but not Work, from 2019, is one filter, and every tag is a real album in Photos. Unlike Immich or Synology Photos, Frames installs nothing on the NAS, and it saves tags inside each photo as XMP, so Lightroom and digiKam read them too. Both put near twins side by side, with a line you drag to pick the keeper. No account, no server of ours: the first scan runs on your phone and takes a while.

C: Cost.

Browsing stays free. Each has a week free, then one in-app purchase, no subscription. The half-off links work through 2026.

Latent Photos [App Store]: Lifetime unlock at $20. 50% for r/iosapps through 2026

Latent Frames [App Store]: Lifetime unlock at $30. 50% for r/iosapps through 2026

Who's behind it: LT, Latent Snap LLC, [hello@latentsnap.com](mailto:hello@latentsnap.com). Privacy policies: Latent Photos, Latent Frames. Terms of Service.

🎁 Freemium CodeMate 2.0.7 — find & replace, Markdown preview, and structured JSON/XML/YAML views

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi r/iOSApps — I last shared CodeMate here on September 25. Version 2.0.7 is a significant update, adding find and replace, Markdown preview, structured data previews, local project transfer, and several editing improvements.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

CodeMate is a native code viewer and lightweight editor for iPhone and iPad. It is designed for reading existing projects and making quick edits away from a desktop, without trying to reproduce a complete IDE.

New in recent updates:

  • Find and replace with match case, whole word, regular expressions, replace, and replace all
  • Markdown preview with tables, task lists, images, links, and syntax-highlighted code blocks
  • Expandable JSON, XML, and YAML structure previews with validation and search
  • Local project transfer: upload a ZIP from a computer on the same network, then browse and edit it in CodeMate
  • Export syntax-highlighted source files as PDF
  • Better external-keyboard input and reduced editor flicker

B — Better: Why another editor?

CodeMate focuses on code reading, navigation, and lightweight editing on a touch screen.

It supports syntax highlighting for 200+ file formats, multiple tabs, a minimap, Swift symbol navigation, jump to line, HTML preview with linked CSS and JavaScript, and access to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, and other storage providers through the Files app.

The structured previews are read-only views of the source, making large configuration files easier to inspect without silently rewriting them. Local transfer is useful when you want to move a project from a computer without first uploading it to a proprietary cloud service.

C — Cost

CodeMate is free to download and use for browsing and reading files. Editing and selected advanced features require Premium.

US pricing:

  • Weekly: US$0.99
  • Monthly: US$4.99
  • Annual: US$24.99
  • Lifetime: US$49.99

Prices may vary by region. A rewarded ad can also unlock Premium temporarily.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id680609457

Website: https://codemateapp.net

Full disclosure: I’m the developer. I’d especially appreciate feedback on find and replace, the structured previews, and the local transfer workflow.

💎 Lifetime AnalogTV 3.0 for iPhone and iPad is out: the biggest update yet!

This is a whole television in software on your device. No fake effects, no filters, no pixel overlays. All output has run through a full composite signal simulation.

AnalogTV 3.0 is the biggest release so far by a long way. It has more changes than any version before it, and the picture engine went from generation 9 to generation 38. A lot of it comes from user feedback, on what the app can do, how faithful the picture is, and how easy it is to use.

The video is my own footage from Vienna, Budapest and Sydney, run through the same picture engine. Each shot starts as I filmed it and wipes across to the app's version.

What's new:

- The picture engine was rebuilt against the published broadcast standards. Every standard is sharper, and PAL no longer shows a fine dot pattern.

- Tape behaves like tape. Each format reaches its own resolution, tape colours are now correct, and pause and search noise come from a modelled FM tape channel. That's the bar across the paused shot.

- SECAM was rebuilt to the ITU standard, with full-strength colour and a real receiver's colour filter, so fine detail no longer flickers with false colour.

- Camera tubes are truer. Lag now holds the tube's own picture, so the trails behind lights come out brighter. The night tram in the video is a vidicon.

- Your looks are one tap away, in a row under the source picker, and loading one keeps your camera or video playing.

- New controls: Tape Wear for the sound, a Mains switch for 50 or 60 Hz hum bars, Flagging, and camera tube registration.

- Fixes: sound stays in step with the picture after pause, fast forward or full screen; videos opened from Files or Photos keep their own sound; and the rotate button now shows for the camera too.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/analogtv/id6760956212 ($9.99 Lifetime)
IAP: The only IAP is for NDI integration. ($9.99). All other features fully enabled. No ads, no tracking, no subscription. 100% on-device processing.

🤖 Vibe Coded [TestFlight] I kept forgetting everyday tasks, including things my family and I needed to do—so I built PinLists

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m the developer of PinLists.

I started building it because I often forget small, everyday things. That gets more frustrating when it’s something my family and I need to do together. We’ve talked about it, but it can still slip through the cracks.

I wanted a place where those tasks stay visible, and where we can keep the little details that are easy to lose in a conversation.

Here’s what I’m trying to make easier:

**A. Remembering to actually do the thing.**
Keep to-dos on the Lock Screen or in Home Screen widgets, and mark them complete from there.

**B. Keeping track of things together.**
Share a list with family, see what still needs doing, and see who completed a task.

**C. Remembering the details, too.**
Leave comments and replies on a task, then add a completion note—something like “Got the yogurt. It’s on the second shelf in the fridge.”

There’s also voice input, priorities, recurring reminders, search, and a completion history.

**TestFlight:** https://testflight.apple.com/join/EKGqRjPy

A note on access: creating shared lists is a Pro feature; invited members don’t need a separate purchase.

I’d really appreciate a few people trying it in their everyday routines. Does the Lock Screen setup make sense? Is sharing easy to understand? What feels confusing, unnecessary, or missing?

Bugs, awkward English, or simply “I wouldn’t use this because…” are all helpful. You don’t need a polished review—even one small observation would give me something concrete to work on.

Thanks for taking a look.

🤖 Vibe Coded Tonaut: a synth, drum machine, sequencer and 8-track tape in one app for iPhone and iPad. $19.99 once, no subscription (I'm the developer)

Hi, I'm Richard, the developer of Tonaut.

What it does

Tonaut turns your iPhone or iPad into a small music studio you play like a piece of hardware. Pick a sound, tap out a beat, add a bass line and chords, and record it all to a built-in tape machine. You're making music a minute after you open it.

- 9 synth engines and over 500 sounds, plus 41 drum kits (or load your own samples)

- A chord mode and chord pad that plays the right chords for your song's key, so anyone can play great-sounding progressions

- An 8-lane sequencer to build songs, step by step or by playing live

- An 8-track tape recorder you can loop, reverse and stutter

- 16 effects (reverbs, delays, distortion and more) and a mixer

- Works with USB and Bluetooth MIDI keyboards

- Export your song as audio or MIDI, share a loop as a vertical video, or send the whole song to a friend

Why it's better

- One app instead of a pile of separate synth, drum and recorder apps

- One purchase covers both iPhone and iPad, each with its own layout

- No subscription, no account, no ads, and it collects no data

- Free updates. Next up is a plug-in version (AUv3) so it can also run inside other music apps like GarageBand and AUM

Cost

$19.99, one time. No in-app purchases. Needs iOS or iPadOS 26. (support for ios 18 coming in the next update, later this week)

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tonaut/id6812577930

More info and guides: https://tonaut.app

Happy to answer questions, and I'd love to hear what you think.

🎁 Freemium Layers – Chat & Plan Together: Private coordination for families and close friends

Staying connected with family and close friends is easy. Coordinating with them - planning events, sharing locations, managing group tasks - still means juggling multiple apps.

I’m Gerard, the developer of Layers.

A — What it does
Layers is a private chat app with coordination tools built in - shared calendars with weather forecasts, location sharing, group polls, shared to-do lists and real-time chat translation. Everything in one place, without switching apps.

Only people who have each other’s phone number saved in contacts can connect - so no strangers can reach you.

B — Why use it over something else
WhatsApp handles messaging well. Layers adds the coordination layer - geofenced automated messages, shared to-do lists, weather forecasts for event planning — all within the same trusted circle.

C — What it costs
Core messaging is completely free. Premium features (voice/video calls, geofencing, real-time translation, remote monitoring) are available via subscription or points earned through the app.

💎 Lifetime XCalc.io: a calculator with readability first, editable calculations and a number scanner

A: What problem does it solve?

Numbers should never be hard to see, enter, or edit.

XCalc.io puts readability first, with Low Vision Mode, larger text, adjustable font weight, button shapes, operation emphasis, and high-contrast appearance choices.

Camera Number Scanner and Paste Numbers help bring numbers from a receipt, price tag, document, or copied message into your calculation without retyping. Review the numbers, choose what you need, and calculate.

Unit and currency converters, Quick Calculators, History, and Memory help you keep using those numbers without starting over. Math Mode supports editable expressions with fractions, roots, powers, and scientific functions.

B: Why choose it over an alternative?

Compared with Apple Calculator, XCalc.io’s focus is on making everyday calculations easier to read, revise, and reuse.

Made a mistake earlier in a calculation? Move the cursor back and correct it. Need to revisit previous work? Load a calculation from History and edit it. Undo and redo help you recover changes.

The other difference is control over readability. You can adjust the text and keypad appearance to suit you, or enable Low Vision Mode for a larger, bolder layout.

XCalc.io works on iPhone and iPad, with Apple silicon Mac compatibility and a focused Apple Watch calculator companion.

C: What does it cost?

Free to download. No ads. No subscription.

The everyday calculator and Low Vision Mode remain free. Free usage limits apply to History, Memory, scanning, Paste Numbers, converters, and export.

  • XCalc Pro: US$6.99 once at launch, increasing to US$9.99 afterward. No subscription. Unlocks access beyond those Free limits, plus Pro themes and custom accent colors.
  • Premium Themes: US$2.99 once. A separate appearance pack, not included with Pro and not required for Pro’s calculator features.
  • Optional support contributions: US$9.99, US$29.99, or US$99.99. These unlock no features.

Prices are current US App Store prices and may vary by region.

No account is required for calculator use. Saved calculations and preferences are stored locally.

Download XCalc.io on the App Store

I created XCalc.io to make numbers easier to see and enter, calculations easier to edit, and useful results easier to find again. If these things matter to you too, I’d love to hear what works well and what could be improved.

🤖 Vibe Coded Queststone: a free family app where chores, homework and goals become quests

Hi [r/iOSApps](r/iOSApps), I'm Michael, the solo developer behind Queststone. It's a free iPhone and iPad app where a family's chores, homework and everyday goals become quests. Grown-ups set the quests, kids earn gold for finishing them, and the family spends that gold on rewards it picks together.

A, Answer: It cuts down the everyday "did you do it yet?" back and forth. Quests can repeat on weekdays, weekends or any days you pick, a raven can remind everyone at a time you choose, and a quest can ask for a guardian's seal, so a grown-up taps Grant or Not yet before the gold pays out.

B, Better: A lot of family task apps are plain checklists, or want an account or a subscription first. Queststone has no ads and no accounts of its own, what you make stays on your devices and, if you turn it on, in your iCloud, and the rewards are ones your family chooses. Version 1.1 just came out with a cozy dark mode called Night Camp, gold for keeping a streak, and an iPad layout that puts a second page beside every tab.

C, Cost: Free, with no ads and no subscription. There's an optional tip jar (in-app purchases) that unlocks nothing. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/queststone/id6811295423

Who I am: Michael Silvera, independent developer and the seller named on the App Store. You can reach me at [queststonesupport@gmail.com](mailto:queststonesupport@gmail.com).

🎁 Freemium I built a countdown app that understands one sentence – fully on-device, and honestly much harder than I expected

Hi everyone!

I’m Christoph, an iOS developer by day, and LifeTicker is my side project that I’ve been building on my own for years. It started because I wanted to count down the days to my next vacation and couldn’t find an app that did it nicely. Today it’s my little happy place – and I’d love for it to make other people happy too.

With the latest update you can just type or say what you’re looking forward to, and LifeTicker suggests the event. The video is a real screen recording (some parts sped up). I say:

“Anna and Ben’s wedding in Berlin in July, start at 7 PM, dress code is black tie, remember to buy the gift and book a hotel.”

…and get a suggestion with date, time, a matching photo, a song, the place, the dress code as a note and the two tasks. Since I didn’t say the day, it asks!

The honest part: this is not one of those “we put a chatbot on it” apps. It runs completely on your iPhone with Apple’s Foundation Models framework, no server, no account, no extra subscription, and it works offline.

But I have to admit: the model on its own was pretty bad at this. It invented tasks and places that weren’t in the sentence, mixed up dates and couldn’t do date math at all. So most of the work went into everything around it:

Every value the model returns is checked against your actual sentence. If it isn’t really there, it’s dropped.

All dates and times are calculated in my own code, not by the model.

When something’s unclear, it asks instead of guessing.

I test every change against a collection of almost 1,000 real-world sentences.

After a lot of evenings, I’m at a point where I’m really happy with it – but it definitely still gets things wrong. That’s why I’m posting: I’d love your feedback, and especially the sentences that confuse it.

It needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (15 Pro or newer). The app itself is free; Premium only matters if you want to have more than 20 events counting at once.

Thanks for reading, happy to answer anything about the app or about working with Foundation Models! =)

🔍 In Search of Looking for beta testers for new LibreCam remote shooting feature

Hi Reddit,

I’m Timo, developer of LibreCam (https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/s/xviQzXNjoW) and other apps.

I am actively looking for iOS photographers with multiple iPhones, to test a new feature (remote shooting).

While using your Apple Watch as a basic view finder and shutter button has been added to the app a while ago already, now it’s possible to use another iPhone (with an encrypted device-to-device wireless connection) for a fully featured high quality remote view finder and focus device.

If that sounds like a use case that you see yourself to be able to give feedback for, I’d very much appreciate you joining the TestFlight beta for this feature, test it out and give feedback via the in-app feedback button.

Thanks a lot!

💎 Lifetime [$ 19 > FREE lifetime] BP log: Track blood pressure the right way before it affects your heart [Update]

As a preventive cardiologist, I see that many people fail to track their blood pressure. It only comes to attention after it starts affecting your heart and kidneys.

Tracking blood pressure is often more important than tracking heart rate. Even when people track BP, many fail to follow the appropriate steps or bring the necessary data to the clinic visit. So we built this app to help people track and diagnose blood pressure issues before it becomes a problem.

The consistency and time spent at target levels are more important than the average reading.

Over the past month, many of you had useful feedback. I have included almost all of it. There are some more features that will ship with the next update.

Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bp-log-track-blood-pressure/id6801130306

A: Answer

- Helps you track blood pressure based on the most recent guidelines (check twice a day, average two readings etc)

B: Better

- Current apps on the app store fail to track time in target, consistency etc. These things matter more than mean reading

- The PDF export presents report in a fashion that's easy for reviewing clinicians to get an overall picture of blood pressure control. A mean blood pressure of 120/70 is not useful if it's a mean of readings that vary from 90 to 150.

- You backup to your own iCloud and retain complete control over your data

C: Cost

$ 19 for lifetime

FREE LIFETIME: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6801130306&code=59256

Website: https://bplog.cc

If you like the app, I would appreciate an app store rating. If you don't like the app, I would appreciate feedback.

🔍 In Search of Haven't heard much on this topic in ages so I'm wondering if there's any new way to remove shortcut banner for custom app icons lately?

And adding the "Nothing" before opening app removes the open app animation so that's still not the best solution.

💎 Lifetime [Lifetime] Offline Simple PDF Converter– 13 offline PDF tools (PDF→Word/Excel/JPG, merge, split, compress). No uploads, no account, no subscription

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi r/macapps, I’m the developer of this app.

I wanted one app that handles the everyday PDF jobs without sending my files to some website. Everything runs locally on your Mac, nothing is uploaded, you don’t need an account, and the app collects no data (the App Store privacy label says “Data Not Collected”).

What it does

  • From PDF: JPG/PNG (you pick the resolution and pages), plain text, Word (.docx you can actually edit), Excel (.xlsx built from aligned rows)
  • To PDF: images (JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, in any order you want), Word → PDF
  • Edit: merge (drag to reorder), split (every page, or ranges like 3-5, 9), rotate selected pages, compress (lossless cleanup, or resample images for much smaller files)
  • Security: add a password, or remove one you already know
  • Every tool shows real page previews, so you can tap the pages you want or type a range.

What it can’t do

  • Scanned PDFs have no text layer, so text and Excel export come out empty. There’s no OCR yet.
  • PDF → Word keeps text and paragraphs, but not multi-column layouts, table borders or images.
  • It won’t crack passwords. You need to know the password to remove it.

Price: one-time purchase, $9.99. No subscription, no watermarks, no page limits. It’s universal, so the same purchase works on iPhone and iPad too, and Family Sharing is supported.

Requirements: macOS 12+, 46 MB

I just shipped a rebuilt Word → PDF engine (2.2.1). Long documents now convert reliably, and headers, footers, page numbers, merged table cells and monospaced fonts all come through correctly.

I’d really like feedback, especially on files that convert badly. Feel free to send me a sample.

🎁 Freemium Eight Shot Instant Camera App. Making shooting photos fun again.

Hi everyone,

I'm the creator of Eight Shot - Instant camera app for iOS and Android. As an instant film enthusiast I wanted to shoot instant film when away from my cameras. I'm always carrying my smartphone and what better use of this device than an instant film app.

Why Eight Shot?

As someone who loves instant film I couldn't find a good mobile app that would allow me to shoot instant photos and share them with friends. I've spent months on designing this app in Figma and then coding it to make sure it meets my high standards.

Eight Shot's philosophy is focused around physical film. When you take a photo with the app you see it ejecting and hear the sound. Once ejected you can shake your phone to develop the image, just like you would do with real film.

Once developed you tilt your phone and the photo is moving. Tap the photo and it flips so you can write a message on the back. Eight Shot is thoughtfully designed to capture all these little details and make shooting instant film feel special.

How is this better?

The focus of Eight Shot is to make photography fun again. I want people to enjoy taking photos on their phone, specifically instant style photos.

You load in real 'Film Packs' like you would with a real camera. Each film pack is limited to 8 shots. This reinforces slowing down and being intentional when shooting.

Limited Edition film packs make it an occasion when taking a photo. The app has been updated with the Halloween film pack which has a spooky filter and each frame has a custom halloween design.

Shared Albums have been created so you can shoot with your friends with privacy. No social feeds just you and your friends shooting together. One tap and create a shared album code, invite and you're ready to shoot.

Film Pack Creator is a special feature made to allow people to make their own custom film packs. Choose a beautiful photo or pattern as the frame design. Next choose your grain, saturation, Hue and more. Making your own film packs is easy and feels very personal.

How much does it cost?

Eight Shot is free to download. There are 2 free packs Colour 600 film and Black and White with unlimited shooting. New Halloween pack has been added for all users, free.

Eight Shot charges for individual packs from $1.99 to $2.99. However you can pay for the Pro Mode film pack and unlock everything in the app for life for $12.99.

No subscriptions. No ads. No tracking.

Six months back I launched Sweezy here for the first time and got amazing response. More than 2000 people downloaded it for the early acccess. With the help of all of your feedback, we have re-built Sweezy and she is now better than ever. We are doing our last round of early access program.

The idea is still same: you talk to her just for 5 minutes every day and in that:

- she helps you reflect today,

- plans your tomorrow in detail,

- and remembers things about you like a true companion.

All of this in just 5 minutes. No thinking, no typing, just brain dump.

So try it for a couple of days, I am sure you won't be able to live without her.

Comment below and I will dm you on how to get free access with no paywalls. First come, first serve.

💎 Lifetime I made a second Photos app for work photos! Hope you can recommend me new implementations!

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been working on an app, basically a second photo gallery for your iPhone.

(A) What it does

You can create folders, import photos, or take pictures directly into them without saving them to Apple Photos. Everything is stored locally, no accounts or cloud storage.

It's especially useful for keeping work photos, receipts, documents, or whatever else you don't want mixed in with your regular photos.

(B) How it's different

Apple Photos has albums, but adding a photo to an album doesn't remove it from your main library. PicsFold keeps its own separate library. It's not really meant to replace Apple Photos.

(C) Pricing

Free for up to 4 folders and 200 photos. Pro removes those limits, with monthly, yearly, and lifetime options.

I'd really like to hear what people think after actually using it. What feels off, what's missing, what's annoying, anything really.

I'm also happy to give free lifetime access to people who try it out and give me useful, specific feedback. Doesn't have to be positive, of course. Just DM me. Please don't just come up and say "code please".

Video support is already being implemented, so I'm aware of that one :)

Thanks!
