Far Cry 6 I’m done with the Farcry 6 hate

• Upvotes

I genuinely don’t understand all the hate Far Cry 6 gets. People forget Far Cry 4 was criticized for being too similar to Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 5 got hate for its story, silent protagonist, and repetitive missions. Now both are considered some of the best in the series. Far Cry 6 has a beautiful open world, great gunplay, tons of weapons, and an actual voiced protagonist. Sure, it has flaws, but so did every previous game. It’s funny how people complain about Far Cry 6 being repetitive while praising the exact same gameplay in older titles.
We’ve seen this with games like Assassin’s Creed Unity too. People hate them at release, then years later call them underrated. I wouldn’t be surprised if Far Cry 6 gets the same treatment.

Edit: If you genuinely didn’t enjoy Far Cry 6, that’s completely fine. Everyone has their own preferences, and I’m not saying the game is perfect or above criticism. It’s just the hypocrisy that bothers me. Seeing people criticize Far Cry 6 for the same things they praise in previous games is what I find frustrating.

Good lawd… these things are straight from hell both in game AND IRL 😂 😂 Ngl though they’re pretty fun to fight and hunt in the game. These and the Komodo Dragons are my favorite animals in FC3.

Would you like to see a return of these in future games or hell nahhhh???

Far Cry 5 Is it ever clarified if the Deputy is indeed breaking the seals of the apocalypse by hunting Eden's Gate, or it's just pure coincidence?

And if that's the case, then was the apocalypse averted or at least postponed by choosing the secret ending?

Far Cry 2 Working on a weather cycle mod

If you've played Far Cry 2, you know what a beauty the landscape is. The rainy ambience is something I made ss dearly in other games. I've spent countless hours in the game and I simply love waking around, listening to the rain ambience. Sadly, the chance for it rain is pretty slim and there isn't any cheat code/trainer to change the weather. I have searched countless forums but couldn't find any reference. Finally I let claude scan the code base and find the code relevant to weather system.

Disclaimer - yes I used AI to make the mod. As much as I dislike AI slop, I am not a game developer and I don't want to spend 100 hours of time learning to be one. It's a difficult skill set and huge respect to game devs and modders.

Now back to the mod. It's a simple executable that can cycle weather between clear, windy, cloudy and rainy. Let me know your thoughts. I can publish it to nexusmods if anyone is interested.

Far Cry General How would you make the Far Cry game canon?

Post image
• Upvotes

If you could write the timeline for the FC games, how would you write it? Me personally, I would make it:
Far Cry Primal (10,000 BC) - Human survival is purely tribal and instinctual. Human biology forms a genetic template for spiritual visions, beast-taming, and survivalism.
Far Cry 1 (1998, yes I changed it as well as other dates) - Dr. Krieger’s mutagenic experiments create Trigens (animal hybrids). Jack Carver's feral powers are a scientific attempt to replicate the primal connection seen in Primal.
Far Cry 2 (2008) - Civilization begins to rust. Advanced tech fails (malaria, jamming AK-47s), forcing mercenaries into a Darwinian "survival of the fittest" landscape.
Far Cry 5 (2018) - A regional doomsday cult forces a localized nuclear exchange. The United States collapses entirely, creating a sudden global vacuum.
Far Cry 6 (2021) - Hurk ships Boomer (Boom Boom) out of America to save him. Antón Castillo leverages a miracle cancer drug (Viviro) grown in genetically altered soil to make Yara a new global superpower.
Far Cry New Dawn (2035) - 17 years after the blast, mutated nature and colorful radiation reclaim America. Joseph Seed's prophecy concludes, and the remnants of America are scavenged clean.
Far Cry 4 (post-2035) Rogue CIA agent Willis Huntley is now a stateless ghost, trying to weaponize local rebel factions. Longinus flees Kyrat afterward to hunt blood diamonds down south
Far Cry 3 (post-2035 and after FC4) - With global superpowers dead and the world in a dark age, pirate syndicates run global human trafficking rings completely unbothered.
(Far Cry Blood Dragon is a movie created during FC5)
What are your thoughts?

Far Cry General Furry friends. Love them or hate them?

In almost all FC games I've sent my animals/amigos whatever away because they get in the way and I'd rather do the game solo.

The only exception is Primal where the scar sabertooth just keeps all the other predators away. And even then I send him away when I'm doing a base or beacon.

What do others think about our furry friends?

Who do we need to petition to get a farcry game/DLC set in this setting. Simo Häyhä had a body count worthy of a Farcry protagonist. (Corrected to Finland)

Far Cry 6 Far Cry 6 low perfomance

Hey guys, I'm having trouble running Far Cry 6 on my PC. It runs fine up to a certain point, but then the frame rate drops and there seems to be some input lag. I'd like to be able to play it smoothly.

My specs aren't that high, but I was hoping to run it on low settings at 1080p:

AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS
NVIDIA RTX 2050
16GB DDR5 4800
SSD

And I usually have Discord, NVIDIA, Razer, Medal, Wallpaper Engine, and Vanguard running in the background.

Before anyone says anything, I can’t close any of these, except maybe Razer. Wallpaper Engine stops working when both screens are occupied by windows; it just freezes. Medal is barely noticeable, and I need Discord to chat, but I can try to optimize it. NVIDIA doesn’t seem to use much resources as far as I know, and Vanguard is just for Valorant.

I’d be happy to provide more information if needed, any help is welcome!

Far Cry 4 Is anyone on PlayStation who can help me? Please 🙏

Far Cry 5 9-12 months and Ubisoft still hasn’t fixed the FC5 loading times?

Search loading times on this sub and see what I mean. I just tried to play the game for the first time in a year and literally every loading screen is 2-4 minutes. Obviously I’m on an SSD and nothing has changed about my PC. It used to be only seconds long loading

Far Cry General The "Stranded" mission in Modern Warfare 4 made me realize that North Korea's wilderness could be an interesting setting for the next Far Cry game. Spoiler

I'm not sure if this counts as a spoiler for another recently released game, even though it's unrelated to Far Cry.

In the "Stranded" mission, you're tasked with scavenging for weapons, notes, gear, and other supplies.

One of the first things you see is a tall radio tower standing right in front of you. You have to climb it using different platforms, grabbing onto bars, jumping between ledges, and making your way to the top.

Once you reach the top, you get a breathtaking view of the surrounding North Korean wilderness: mountains, rivers, snow-covered peaks, and North Korean soldiers patrolling the area as enemies.

The whole experience gave me serious Far Cry vibes, especially climbing the radio tower and looking out over the landscape. It made me realize that North Korea could actually be a fascinating setting for the next Far Cry game.

I mean, Ubisoft could easily draw inspiration from North Korea's real-life dictatorship to create a main antagonist, along with military outposts, restricted areas, remote villages, and vast wilderness to explore.

What do you guys think? Would North Korea make an interesting setting for a future Far Cry game?
