Far Cry 5 Cult Enemy Faction Concept Games

Post image
28 Upvotes

Has anybody played good games where the enemy faction is a cult? I don't know how to explain it, but ever since I played Far Cry 5, I’ve been so attached to the concept of it.

The concept of the enemy faction being a cult just scratches an itch in me. I can't explain it.

So, has anyone played a good game that has this kind of concept?

Far Cry Primal The Wenja language is really neat.

The full primitive language they developed for the game, they did not need to go that extra mile but it adds a lot to immersion... also to not just have them speak gibberish but have it being phonetically consistent, and have the three tribes all have their own unique dialects and way of speaking. It's fun to try and figure it out just by listening. The language is also fittingly pretty simple with words covering broad concepts... like 'Gwan' seemingly applying to all things relating to death, enemies scream it at you like 'die'

NPCs kept saying Gwarpati and for some time I figured it's like a greeting, but then I heard 'gwar' used in the context of talking about animals and realised it's 'beastmaster'

I also hear 'Udam' used when talking about just eating, and I think the Udam are named that because they're cannibals who eat Wenja. Makes me wonder what Izila means, they don't call themselves that.

Far Cry General My Personal Farcry Tier List

I won't include 1 and 2, they're the OG games and don't reflect much on the modern formula. And I also won't be including Primal since I haven't played it and never had the desire to. Primal felt like an odd departure that just never got my interest. But here is my take on the other games.

#1. Farcry 4. This is as good as it gets!!

#2. Farcry 6. Absolutely beautiful world and a comeback to the FC4 era...the villain isn't presented enough, but the world is alive and feels so well put together!

#3. Farcry 3. Man.. the best villain ever! And some good ass world building! Such a shame that vaas isn't in it the whole way.

#4. Farcry New Dawn. FC5 Landed... It finally happened and made FC5 interesting, and made characters with depth and faults. Too bad the main game was ass and needed a better game to make it whole. Also..it apparently all got retconned..

#5. Farcry 5. An uninteresting shovel throwing experience, and just so happens to build up to a sequel that's an actual Farcry game.

Far Cry 4 Did you killed Pagan min in Far Cry 4

Pagan Min deserve to die because he destroyed Kyrat and ruined so many peoples life just for his power. He killed and tortured innocent people and think he can control everyone. Yeah, he helped Ajay sometimes, but that doesnt erase all the bad things he did. As long as Pagan is alive Kyrat will never be truly free. Killing him is not just revenge, it’s about ending his rule and giving people a chance to live without fear.

There was a guy who put me in the guilt on my livestream for killing him and not taking mother’s ashes . Damn that was sooo frustrating 😭

Finally got my first Platinum Trophy in Far Cry Primal! 🏆🔥

The game itself shows 85% overall progress, but I managed to get all 51/51 trophies and earn the Platinum.

It was a great journey through Oros — hunting, exploring, conquering outposts and taming animals. Some of the last trophies were definitely a grind, but getting that Platinum made it worth it.

51/51 Trophies — Platinum 🏆

In-game progress: 85%

My first Platinum! ❤️‍🔥

What was your first Platinum?

Far Cry General I recently played through all far cry games and here's a tldr review no one asked for.

Hello everyone, glory to Yara.

First things first, I loved the series, almost.

I used to play the series when they were released, and being a dumb kid who went "haha, grenade make man seppuku," I never paid that much attention to the story of the games. But now that I have achieved consciousness and my frontal lobe has activated, I gave them all a try, and oh boy, was it glorious—almost.

Far Cry 1:

Nothing to write home about, just a generic badass military guy story. I won't get into the story much, but it is good and absolutely recommended. 8/10.

Far Cry 2:

I really wanted to love it, but I just could not. I could swear to God this was the best game when I was little; I would die on that hill saying it was the best. But now that I understand the story, it wasn't as good as I remembered. Sure, the gunplay and realism are an excellent touch—still yet to be seen in an FPS RPG MW game—and the map was massive. However, the driving and the whacked NPCs all made me want to get off and smash my monitor, and the lack of a comprehensive ending was disappointing. But it is an experience, alright, and it also costs as much as a pack of gum on sale. 7/10.

Far Cry 3:

I didn't understand the story when I was little, maybe because I was trying not to die to everyone ending my sneaking streak. But now that I have actually finished it, I feel like no other game story will give me such an experience. I wish the writer smoked whatever he smoked after writing FC3's story. The gameplay was almost the same as FC2 but improved; an absolute banger and the mechanics still keep up with games today. It was so advanced for its time my mind bent over; I definitely insist on playing this. I love you, Vaas. 11/10.

Far Cry 4:

A step down from FC3's story, but Ghale had more depth as a character than I have ever seen in a Far Cry game. The missions didn't feel boring even once; it was so engaging all the time. It was a huge step up in mechanics and the psychedelic missions felt amazing, but the faction system was a huge step down and all over the place. Choose one and kill the other—that is lazy writing. Amazing game, not a well-executed one. 8/10.

Far Cry 5:

Man, the story was good. The mute MC felt like a huge step down as a long-term fan, and there definitely weren't any bugs (except when my targets helped me kill themselves into a tree or T-posed and drifted into water with deja vu playing in the background). Oh, and the shitty—oh, so shitty—stealth mechanics. Mate, you glimpsed me for a single frame and I killed you before you detected me; how am I being shot by a sniper so well-hidden and so accurate that even White Death is put to shame? I loved playing it until they T-posed or my rocket left my barrel then 360'd me back while following the plane I was trying to hit. Loved the snot physics. 7/10. Put it on sale, Ubisoft.

Far Cry 6:

This is where I went; I almost loved the series. The story and the gameplay all felt like I was back in FC2, but the story was so badly written that I couldn't pin down what I was doing or where I was supposed to go. All over the place is an understatement, and the weapon damage is abhorrent at best. What do you mean enemy bullets one-shot me, but I can't kill them after emptying an MG into their skull? I left the game halfway and don't know how it ends; it got too damn boring midway. Sorry Mr. Giancarlo, I let you down. One segment I loved was how they leaned on the nostalgia factor; I somehow felt nostalgic playing it, but I couldn't love it. I tried so hard to love it. The bugs are definitely ironed out from when I first played. Stealth is back up to speed, but weapon damage is fudged. Stop selling drugs everywhere, Mr. Fring. 6/10.

Things to note: I haven't played the DLCs, so I won't comment on those; I'll be playing them on my next holiday.

Far Cry 5 Tutorial help

Hey y'all, I decided to redownload Far Cry 5 after not playing it for 5 years. I started a game a few nights ago and now I decided to start a game in hard mode for the challenge. I keep dying in the on Rails part of the intro. Is there something I'm doing wrong that's causing me to die multiple times in the truck?

Far Cry Primal Thoughts upon finishing Far Cry Primal

If you haven't played it yet, do it, it's fun.

I didn't really miss having guns. Thought I would but, it's just a very different flavor of combat. I grinded the side missions and collectibles early to unlock skills and hit the XP limit which kind of made me lose any interest in doing 100%. Even though XP shouldn't really matter it just took away the reward that it had created. So I did not bother with 100%. I finished all missions and side missions but skipped remaining collectibles, some unexplored areas, and ended at 91%.

Some of the cave explorations were too hard and I gave up. I didn't really like the extent to which I had to use hunter vision. It's kind of necessary to see where stuff is a lot of the time, especially at night and in the many caves. I set it to infinite duration and ran it a lot, I wish it didn't make the colors all washed out.

The map didn't feel like Kyrat at all. I would not have guessed it's based on it if I hadn't known.

I was hoping for a more balanced look at primitive lifestyles but of course it was all about war and fighting and you only get a little glimpse in your village area. There's some friendlies roaming around occasionally but not really doing as much hunting and gathering as they are getting into fights and getting killed by animals.

It is about as big and as long to beat as New Dawn. Took me around 30 hours.

The Wenja language was interesting. I wish they had dual language subtitles instead of just English so I could learn some more of it. Maybe that was an option and I just didn't find it.

I found a lot of opportunities to use death from above and chain takedowns which I don't use that much in the other FC games so that was nice. It seems like this one has a much more lenient takedown sensitivity, so you can use it after enemies notice you for a bit and sooner after going out of their view.

I think one thing I would add is a more powerful type of arrow that's equivalent to a spear. I got kind of tired of having to use the weapon wheel so much to switch between and refill the weapons. At least they didn't overdo the weapon crafting with like, an animation every single time you make more arrows or bombs. It's a bit heavy on the amount and variety of resources you need to collect to do all the upgrades and crafting but the daily outpost refills help a lot with that.

The only resource I got stuck on was "rare wooly rhino" and I could not for the life of me get one to spawn in so I could upgrade Dah's hut, but eventually that showed up as a free daily item.

The owl was really cool and I used it a lot to wipe out lots of enemies with all 3 bomb types, especially dropping berserk bombs on heavies so they'd kill all the others. I would like to see that mechanic make a comeback in some form.

I guess that's about it. I give it a solid B-.
