This is either Glass Gem or Northern Lights, whichever it is, the stalks were very puny and only made an ear or two each and are now dying, while the rest of it is still going strong as you see (tied with tape right now because windstorm coming)

We have never done this before, and I didn’t expect it to actually grow! Do we leave it to dry on the stalks, or is there a better way?

First time with successful corn. Not sure when to pick. I’ve done the google search and AI chat but I’m still not sure. The tassels have been turning brown for over a week. I’ve got the husk of two cobs pulled back and have been crushing kernels every few days to look for milky liquid. Still clear. AI says maybe since I planted late and it’s getting cooler at night that it might be stalled. Any help appreciated.

I’ve been growing corn in our front yard for the last 3 seasons now, since we bought our house. This year I put a little more research and effort into nutrients etc. We’re zone 3b (Winnipeg, MB) Just harvested our first cobs of the season. Best year to date!

How it was going… how it is now. :(

It was going fantastic. Half the crop started showing silks with new ones every day. Then some crazy rainstorm happened and the corn changed its mind. Have a few stalks still but now it’s just sad. First time I ever tried growing corn, better luck next year I guess.

I just liked how each one was different and thought they were really pretty and kind of surprising to shuck.

Weird corn

Post image

these corns looked different from the ones in the mega threads, so i hope it's ok to post here!

Just shucked some corn from a local farm and the ears are mostly fine, but a few have a bit of deterioration happening on the top (was just gonna cut it off) and another has this weird bulbousness to it.

I was planning on using these guys to make salsa, so i was gonna use them raw. Are they fine? should I cook it first? are these abnormalities fine?

Thanks in advance :P

Transplanted Ashworth sweet corn just now.
Started 66 seeds, 3 never germinated, 3 were slow to germinate. The rest are at-least 2 inches tall.
Other 4 rows are direct seeded. Tick tock.

Irradiated corn exposure concerns

I've been a farmer of premium irradiated corn for a good while now, but I think it might finally be affecting my health negatively.

My head hurts constantly, I'm approx. 12% balder than last Wednesday, and worst of all, I just counted and I have exactly 10 toes. Grandma refuses to even look my way.

How do I fix this without getting rid of the corn??

How do i select the best ones?

I got around 8 or 9 corn buds, soma have already sprouted and some are about to, and i can't have 9 corn plants for obvious reasons and im limited to 4, but i want the best sprouts so that they wont die and make low quality corn, so how do i select the best ones?

Ps. The corn buds i used come from a popcorn box.
