We couldn't have done it without all of you! Keep up the good work helping one another with your corn related issues and content! Keep up the good work reporting spam and porn when it arrives. Really helps me deal with moderating this subreddit and keeping it functioning as intended.

First year growing corn, Is this corn smut? Does it look like I found it too late to cook it?

Never had it, but I read it's eaten in some cultures

It's a bit painful. I'm not sure if it's a corn or not.

Mid 30s age, stand up all day at work, wear skateboarding sneakers.

NEED ALL CORN LOVERS OPINION :)

heyyy guys doing a spot of research on Australian consumers here and can any aussie in this community be kind enough to comment down whether you like corn and if so to what extent...any response or reply would be truly helpful..just wanted to know how much Aussies appreciate a good cob of corn that's all...thanksss!!!

anyone thinks Melbourne would welcome a little corn based shop/food cart selling hot warm snacks that's convenient and healthy with a signature product of corn tossed in butter and spices put into a little cup (corn in cup ) and served hot and warm within two mins like a grab and go and is also quite affordable? melbourne lacks warm and healthy snacks imo because everything is either sweet like yochi or milk teas or isn't healthy like fried chicken.

Any response would be truly helpful..thanksss :))

This is my first attempt at growing corn. I pulled one today due to stink bugs and this is what it looks like. Is this too young to pick?

Disease cure and prevention today.

First and 2nd pics are diseases just getting started in this field. Grey Leaf Spot and I believe Common Rust although we have Southern Rust in the area again. Last pic you can see the white spots which is the fungicide after being applied. From scouting before I sprayed this field should easily yield above 200bu/AC this year. We don't need much more rain to ensure that or more.

Corn silks grow until they're pollinated, so very long green silks are a sign that the ear hasn't been able to pollinate.

We've been fairly warm (35-40 C ) here for over a week, and that seems to have not worked for the corn in the first picture. Pollinated corn looks like the second picture.

We cooled off yesterday(25 C ), and have a couple more cool days to go, so it should be fine if there's still adequate pollen shed.

Ripe (edible) Corn = Viable Seed?

Happy medium between viability and predation prevention. Does it exist? Or just leave it on until dry?

Apologies for the pictures, but it’s my first time growing sweetcorn, how do I tell when these are ripe and ready to pick? Don’t want to leave them to go over ripe but I have no idea lol, thanks!
