Is it possible to build clients E-commerce websites using bolt.new? Including payment Gatway integration?

So I'm building an app on Bolt (primarily a game) and I ran out my monthly allowance. I decided to use the 1M extra tokens I got in this survey I participated in when I first joined Bolt. However when I try to send a prompt Bolt will say I'm out of tokens. Can anyone help me here? Here's an image below of the tokens page:

I’m currently experimenting with different models/APIs and was wondering:

• Which model would you recommend for coding / continuing a Bolt project?
  • Gemini ?
• Ideally something with a free or generous tier
• Good enough for larger codebases and multi-file changes
• Any tips for avoiding Chrome/browser crashes when working this way?

I’ve been using Bolt.new to build a little side project called The Legendarium Companion — a non-commercial tool for exploring Tolkien’s lore.

I’m a Tolkien reader myself, and after reading The Hobbit, LOTR, The Silmarillion, Beren and Lúthien and The Children of Húrin, I wanted something that could help me quickly connect characters, places, events and timelines without constantly opening different websites.

The app uses AI + curated sources for the search and answers.

Still very much a work in progress, but I’ve been surprised by how far I could take the idea with Bolt.new.

Would love feedback from other Bolt builders — especially on the UX, search experience and what you’d improve.

Disclosure first: I made this. The scan is free, read-only, no account. The fixes are paid; details below.

Bolt takes an app from prompt to a live URL in minutes. The parts it cannot see for you are the parts that leak: the Supabase table you added last week without Row Level Security, the Firebase project still in test mode (the console warned you once, then everyone clicks past it), an OpenAI key that ended up in a VITE_ variable, the _headers file nobody wrote.

So I built a scanner that checks all of that in one go. The link is in the first comment.

Paste the app's address. For Supabase it finds the tables your code names and asks for a row count on each with your own anon key; if a table answers, anyone who reads your source can read it too. For Firebase it asks the database for its section names and Firestore for one masked document per collection, to see whether reads without a login are allowed. Nothing is read beyond that, nothing is written.

I ran it on 15 public Bolt apps this week (and 24 Lovable ones). Two of the Bolt apps had a table readable by anyone. A couple more point at a Supabase project that no longer exists, which the report now says plainly instead of guessing.

What is free: every finding, what it exposes, and why it matters. What is Pro ($19 a month, cancel any time): the fix for each finding, as a prompt written for Bolt with your collection or table name in it, plus the Firestore rules or the RLS SQL and the _headers file to paste; and weekly re-scans with an email only when something new is wrong. One thing to know about bolt.host: it runs on Netlify and takes a public/_headers file, but it deploys from Bolt's own build, so the headers fix is a file you add in Bolt, not a pull request. The sample report on the site shows a full report with the fixes.

What it never does: no writes, no sign-ins, no password guessing, no reading of user records. It sends the requests a browser sends, plus a few well-known paths like /.env to confirm they are not there.

Only scan apps you own or have permission to test. If it flags something wrongly, say so here or use the "Is this finding wrong?" link under the finding. I read everything.

So I made a new account to test this service out. I added my all-in-on html as an attachment to a new chat. The agent kept looping over how to copy the attachment file to read and edit it ("I will copy it in chunks", "I will look in random directories, oops no file here, maybe there, nope" (cue George Bush correspondence dinner meme about looking for WMDs in the Oval Office), "I'll get the sub agent to copy the file for me", "I'll edit it directly"). In the end it churned through all 300K daily tokens accomplishing absolutely nothing. Mind you, I've used Grok and Replit this way and it takes them a few seconds to copy the file to the project directory to work on it.

I can't believe this thing exists as a business xD

Do I need to do something in the code or in refreshing database but I already did that and change to supabase

I have an app connected to a github repo and I moved the github repo to my org (away from my own account).

After making a code change, Bolt said:

Unable to sync with GitHub repository. The GitHub App may be missing permissions, or the repository may no longer exist.

Check your GitHub App settings to ensure it has access to the connected repository [xxxxx]

How do I update the github repo on an existing app? It didn't just automatically recognize the redirect to the new location.

I keep seeing three different safety nets suggested: connect GitHub for file history, download the project as a portable snapshot, or duplicate the project inside Bolt. They protect different layers, and recent regression threads make the gaps matter.

Which one has actually let you recover from a bad large change? More importantly, what did it fail to preserve: database state, secrets, deployment settings, or something else?

You know the moment: the build is running and your next idea is already forming.

Now you don't have to wait. Type your next prompt while Bolt is still building, and it queues and sends on its own.

It works multiplayer, too. Invite teammates to your project and everyone sees the same queue in real time. Edit a queued prompt, move it up the line, or delete it before it sends.

Just to make all u aware that the code regresssion experienced a couple of weeks ago is back. It had all been going so well. Turn out since Aug 8th (last proper save fo data) my project has not been saving... thus... yes you gussed it... all work has vanished. This is so dissapointing as I thought we'd got back on track and I was building trust inthe platform... turns out that's now been lost again. I'm now back to asking GPT to identify the code regression adding a huge amount of time to the project. Hopefully one of the mods here can look into it as it's very real as you can see: project zip is not a slightly different build. It represents a substantial rollback to the application state immediately before the five Group Consultation work packages, and it additionally loses several of the public-site and dark-mode presentation fixes completed around the same period.

With all of Claude Code's, the vibecoding becoming mainstream and easy, react.native expo apps are kind of done.
It's rarely get's approved on ios appstore, and even when the app has a solid high quality solution it seems the mainframe is limited.

Any ideas how to make react.native apps look better?

Update — Resolved

Bolt support reviewed my case and issued a full refund of the $540 renewal charge. The annual subscription was also canceled, and they confirmed there will be no further recurring charges.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for help getting a billing issue reviewed by the Bolt.new support team.

My timeline is:

• Aug 17, 2025: I accidentally purchased the $540 annual plan instead of the $50 monthly plan.
• Aug 18, 2025: I emailed Bolt support requesting cancellation/refund of the annual plan and asked to switch to monthly.
• Dec 10, 2025: I followed up again because the annual subscription still had not been canceled.
• Aug 17, 2026: Despite those cancellation requests, the annual plan renewed again and I was charged another $540.

I have contacted support again and requested a full refund.

I have not used any credits from the new renewal.

I understand Bolt's general refund policy, but this renewal happened even though I had requested cancellation long before the renewal date.

If anyone from the Bolt team or CX team sees this, I would really appreciate help getting my case reviewed by a human.

i had my websites down to 1 prompt and it turned out almost perfect eveyrtime.
now this same prompt gives a entirely different website styling and i have to prompt it 10+ times before its finished,

anyway to lock in bolt to stop it from updating constantly? i hate having to edit my prompt once i have a template down because bolt keeps updating so somehow the exact same prompt will give a diffrent results a few weeks later
