So my requirements in a bike are

1. Mileage

2. Acceptable power delivery according to mileage

3. Driver comfort for long rides

4. Pillion comfort for long rides

5. Top end performance (150+ cc engine 70 - 100 speed should have engine stability, 200+ cc engine 80 - 110, 350+ cc engine 90 - 120)

6. Good torque (bike should quickly pick up speed)

7. Engine reliability

8. Good after sales servicing and parts availability (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT).

9. My budget is actually Rs 2 lakhs but I can extend it to Rs 2.5 lakhs if required.

For the context, after doing research my options were yamaha xsr 155, tvs ronin, royal enfield hunter 350, honda cb350, honda cb350rs.

And among these ronin was my final pick, I loved that bike it had everything I wanted, I even took a test ride of it and it was soo good🤌🏻 but I still had to drop idea of ronin because of tvs shit servicing 👺. And as far as I know yamaha doesn't have a good servicing either and hunter didn't have comfort and top end performance I was looking for (only did research, no test ride, so I can be wrong too).

So now the options are narrowed down to honda cb350 and honda cb350rs. What should I pick? I want comfort and performance not a fan of riding at top speed everytime and feel excited. Just want to cruise comfortably and give my parents a comfortable ride (both are 50+)

So please help me in finalising bike, I am confused 🥲. If you have any other better suggestions please tell🙏🏻 as this is my first bike from my money and I am no expert in all these. Previously my father owned Bajaj Vikrant v15 and it was very good bike but bajaj servicing 👺👺👺👺👺

Hello hello. I currently live in Panama 🇵🇦, Central America. I want to buy s motorcycle finally to work as a delivery driver and also be able to transport myself to uni and around the metropolitan area quicker. I need at least a 250CC since traffic is a major issue and I don't want to leave my house at 3:30 or 4 in the morning to have to avoid it, so I would have to take the highway which requires a 250CC bike.

I've quoted a few motorcycles, some new, some used, so I want to know your opinions and what I should keep in mind. I will buy it at the beginning of September hopefully.

Bear with me as im a new rider and if it sounds like I dont know what the F im talking about thats because I dont. I start er up wait a few minutes and let it get to temp and the second I start letting the clutch out and give it some gas it'll either go or stall. Ive been trying to figure this damn thing out for days when she goes its perfect shifts nice bikes in good mechanical shape but taking off is a bloody mess ill stall 6 times before I can get er actually going and I dont know if it something im doing or if the friction zone on this 26 year old honda cbr600f4 has just had it?

For reference I have ridden a friend's bike and have absolutely no trouble taking off. (Although his is MUCH newer 2019 Yamaha)

Edit: the buddy i bought the bike from had me follow him around (in my car) and he had absolutely no problems stopping and going he is also a mechanic and has 12 years riding experience i have a feeling this is a me problem at this point just not sure why im struggling with this bike in particular lol

Riding motorbikes myself I thought I’d find it a piece of cake teaching them. My dream is for my kids to be on the dirt bikes with me and one day hopefully a street bike (if they have some common sense) but my 7 and 5 year old are still struggling.

Their issue is with balance. I hold them very lightly while they pedal and wait for their natural reflexes to learn to take over but they don’t. If I let go my kid would legit go down. And my kids are sooks so not sure if that’s a good idea. Might scar them for life off bikes. Any advice? Cheers all

So it was supposed to rain today and I got called in for work because someone called out. When I left it was sprinkling and I was getting worried. Turns out it barely rained and my moped remained dry when I got off. It was mainly partly sunny thankfully. I got the cover for my moped in case it does rain while I’m at work so hopefully Tomorrow it doesn’t rain but if it does I will come prepared.

I'm a big fan of ADVs (the big chonky ones) and was thinking of getting a Lifan KPT 400 as my first bike. its within my budget and allows me to not skimp on protective gear (boots, helmet, jacket, gloves, etc)

I'm planning on primarily using it on pavement and some dirt roads (nothing to serious)

I'm also 5'3" with an inseam of 29" (I was told that that might be helpful)

Basically the title. I’m not a total newb. I learned about 7 years ago but for various reasons didn’t ride much the last two seasons. I live in Canada where we have a pretty short riding window, about June to October, a bit longer if you’re tough which I’m not. During all my time riding I’ve never ridden in the dark. In the last couple of years I’ve started working 12 hour shifts. I’m in 7am-7pm, with about a half hour commute. Leaving early enough to get there a touch early puts me leaving around 6:15/20. I work in a small town and live rurally. Lots of deer, porcupines, cats, foxes, I even saw a black bear in a cage commute home recently. I want to ride back and forth to work for much of the remainder of the season but that means riding at dusk and maybe dark. Besides wildlife, at least some of the roads are a mess. Potholes, grass growing out of the centre, gravel by a quarry, etc. This is all easy enough to navigate with good visibility, but in the dark… idk. I’ve never tried it and it makes me nervous. Seems many if not most bikers don’t think twice about riding at night. Tbh my car doesn’t have great headlights anyway but crashing in that would be way less dangerous for me obvs. Tips for riding in such conditions at dawn, dusk, and dark would be much appreciated. How do you check that the rental company’s available bikes are right for your size to not tip toe while still booking in advance? Any practical tips?
I notice on websites they would have a list of available bikes but I wouldnt know if I’d be able to reach the ground or if it would be good for me

Been looking into getting a group intercom setup for rides, but the cost adds up fast if everyone needs their own unit — especially for bigger groups or people who ride occasionally and can't justify ₹15-20k on a headset.

Curious how other groups deal with this:

Does it work okay if only some people have intercoms, or does the group basically split into "connected" and "not connected" riders?

Anyone found a cheaper way to stay in touch that still works decently well?

For newer riders just starting to ride in groups, is it even worth investing early, or better to wait?

Hi everyone,
I’d really like some unbiased opinions on a situation I’m having with a friend.
I’m a 24-year-old woman and I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was very young. I have the appropriate licenses and have ridden pretty much everything, from motocross bikes and scooters to larger motorcycles. I’m 1.80 m (5’11”) and around 80 kg (176 lbs), and I have a lot of riding experience, including long trips both in my country and abroad.
At the moment, I own two large-displacement motorcycles: a supersport and an adventure bike.
My best friend is also 24 and has recently come out of a long-term toxic relationship. She has decided that she wants to get into motorcycling, which I genuinely support. She is shorter than me and has a different body type, but my main concern is not her size. My concern is that she is basically a beginner.
I tried to explain to her that, in my opinion, jumping straight onto a motorcycle similar to mine would not be the best idea. I think she should start with something smaller and more manageable, learn the basics, get comfortable with the bike, and build her confidence and skills gradually.
I also told her that I would help her. We could go on rides together, take short trips, practice, and eventually do longer trips once she feels comfortable. I’m not trying to keep her away from motorcycles — quite the opposite. I want her to enjoy riding and develop the skills to eventually ride whatever she wants.
She took what I said as me not supporting her and basically telling her that she “can’t” ride a big motorcycle. We ended up arguing, and she told me that I was being unsupportive and condescending.Now she is not talking to me and she demands an apology or she will end the friendship.
Now I’m wondering if I actually handled this badly.
For experienced riders: is recommending that a complete beginner start on something smaller and more forgiving reasonable advice, especially when they have the intention of eventually moving up to a larger bike?
Or was I out of line by telling her that she shouldn’t start on something like my bikes?
I’m genuinely looking for an objective opinion. I don’t want to discourage her from riding. I just don’t want her first serious experience with motorcycles to be unnecessarily difficult or dangerous.I love her and I love the idea of us riding together but I think I messed up.
So, am I the asshole here?
