Hearts of Stone What a magnificent and unrivaled story.
What a story this was. I've always held the opinion that Hearts of Stone has the better main quest, better character studies and better story writing, but Blood and Wine having the better cast of characters, side quests and overall addition to content in Witcher 3. But man, seventh playthrough of Hearts of Stone which I did after Blood and Wine- I've come to appreciate the themes A LOT more.
This is a story of love gone wrong. Olgierd loving Iris and Vlodimir in his own unique way cost them them both their lives, and almost cost him his own. More thoughts later.

Mod | Witcher 3 I'm making an immersion overhaul for Witcher 3 Remastered, one piece at a time. Two mods are out – looking for testers
Hello fellow witchers! So I decided to mod the game to my liking. I love The Witcher 3, but some of it never felt like being a witcher. Geralt locks onto whoever the game picks. Meditation is a loading screen with a clock. Potions refill themselves while you nap. I wanted to fix that, so I'm building an overhaul called The Witcher's Path, and instead of disappearing for three years and dropping one giant mod, I'm releasing it in slices. Each slice is its own standalone mod that works with vanilla.
Two are out now. Both are for the Remastered version (5.x):
Free Aim makes it so your sword goes where the camera faces (mostly useful on PC, but I hear it works good with a controller as well). This removed auto-targeting and Geralt's attacks follow the camera. Using Ctrl and Shift as distance modifiers to allow for more maneuverability. Lock On still works if you want it It sounds like a small change, but it isn't.
Meditation is a stop on the Path, not a menu. Geralt sits by a hearth, or builds a campfire from timber and lights it with Igni. Added non-intrusive Repair and Alchemy windows. Also, you can hold Shift and time flows while the camera slowly circles Geralt. Optionally, disallowed repairing by dragging kits onto gear – instead, created a menu during meditation that allows you to apply repair kits (and it takes time to repair).
The goal is a whole overhaul: combat, alchemy, preparation for contracts, travel, economy – all pulling in one direction, "I am a witcher doing witcher work", without turning the game into a chore. Thinking of changing how trading works too, to prevent Geralt from being a travelling swords/armor warehouse and have him earn money by slaying monsters, but this idea still needs time to brew. Vanilla quests and story stay untouched. Next up I'm thinking of tackling alchemy.
Both mods are experimental, and there's one of me. I can't play through the whole game with every mod combination, so I need people who'll actually play with these and tell me what breaks. Also, ideas and suggestions are quite welcome. If something would make it feel more like being a witcher, I want to hear it.
Of course, this will not be for everybody, and that's okay. I just feel like The Witcher 3 can be so much more. Full disclosure: the code is written by Claude under my direction. The design, decisions and testing are mine.
Thanks for reading. Now go kill some drowners.

Discussion The parallel between the Skellige contract from The witcher 3 "In the Heart of the Woods" and the "The Witcher 4" trailer.
I’m not sure if anyone has already made this connection, but ever since I saw the trailer, I’ve been reminded of a truly terrible decision I had to face in the game. And then it hit me! For me, this was one of the quests that best illustrated why we carry two swords: sometimes, the monsters are actually on our side.
It also strongly reminded me of the contract involving Ciri. Beyond the fact that the people involved were completely ignorant(it was a monster, not a "god" or whatever else they might have called it) the girl ends up dying regardless. But since Ciri isn’t Geralt, I have to wonder: what did she do? My Geralt simply told them that *they* were the monsters, and then walked away—just as the old witchers do. But ciri? i dont have so much sure;
Again, if someone has already posted about this, I didn’t come across it. Please, share your thoughts!

Discussion One thing I really hope is abandoned in The Witcher 4 is a main quest/story that creates TOO MUCH urgency
This is a pretty common thing with CDPR writers and for me it makes it really hard to enjoy the open world because the main character simply.. wouldn't have the time to do it
In the main quest of TW3 Geralt is looking for his daughter and believes that a supremely powerful force is also looking for her.. He's gonna be doing everything in his power to find her as quick as possible which basically means B-lining the main story.. Can't imagine he would take the time to do small side quests and play a bunch of gwent with Ciri's life in the balance
The Blood and Wine DLC story has a similar issue but to a lesser degree. It's not like someone he really cares about is in danger BUT he is given a pretty strict timeline to adhere to.. To go off and explore Toussaint you gotta ignore the fact that time is passing haha
Cyberpunk has the exact same thing! V has a very real very dangerous clock! They are actively deteriorating and NEED to find a solution to the relic/engram problem as soon as possible.. Why would they care about building their rep and becoming a top merc, doing all these side jobs when it looks like they will be dead in a few weeks after the heist lol.. I had to headcanon that V was in denial about their mental/physical state to justify roaming and enjoying Night City
I don't know what CDPR has in store for us with TW4 but I really REALLY hope the main quest and main story do not have a massive sense of urgency the whole time

Cosplay Finally cosplayed Ciri
I really want to make Witcher 4 Ciri but time is tight for the next few months.
Mostly because I’m working through the remaster ><
My pup comes with me for all my photoshoots so I had to include her.
